"Boom..." In some unknown swamp, a giant tail covered in thick scales thrashed about in the mud. It pounded against the swamp, creating deafening roars like cannon fire.
A golden chain stretched from the distant shore all the way here, shooting into the swamp beneath the giant tail and binding the enormous body within. As the golden chain retracted, the behemoth in the swamp struggled desperately, but no matter how hard it tried, the golden chain did not slow down at all.
As the golden chains were gradually pulled, a huge crocodile was pulled out of the swamp.
"Who are you people? I've already escaped to this filthy, stinking place, and you still won't let me go?" the crocodile roared as it was pulled out. "You've captured all the spirits and monsters in the vicinity. Are you really going to exterminate them all? Aren't you afraid of divine retribution?"
“To wipe them out completely, a good suggestion.” A calm voice drifted over from the distant shore, ignoring the distance. “Those who submit to me prosper, those who defy me perish. You only have these two choices. However, I would prefer you to choose the second one, because I happen to want a pair of crocodile leather shoes, and maybe make some belts and bags while I’m at it. My pets also need some different meat to feed them, to give them a change of pace.”
"Please spare me! You've already captured all the monsters within hundreds of miles, one more won't make a difference. Just let me go," the crocodile pleaded. "Why must you be so ruthless?"
"That's true, one more pet won't make a difference." The voice from the shore turned cold.
"No, no..." Hearing the voice on the shore turn cold, the crocodile seemed to realize something and opened its mouth to plead. Unfortunately, before it could finish speaking, the golden chains binding it suddenly tightened, snapping its body in two. Before it could even scream, its prized tough skin was as soft as tofu.
"After eating so many people, do you think I'd let you stay and cause more harm? You still dream of getting away with it? You're asking for death." The voice from the shore rang out again, and golden chains wrapped around the shattered pieces of flesh, quickly pulling them back.
"Remember to give me a pair of leather shoes. Shoes made from the skin of a crocodile spirit must be very durable. It's just a bit of a waste of the blood. This spirit is at least several hundred years old; it must be very nourishing." Wang Mang said to Wang Han, looking at the pieces of flesh that had been pulled back, feeling a little regretful about the wasted blood.
"This is the last spirit within a hundred miles," said the local deity Mei Shou to Wang Han. "Where do we go next?"
“The nearby monsters have been cleared out, so let’s put the monster-catching operation on hold for now. After all, we’ve already caught monsters in several places. I don’t have the energy to keep catching monsters everywhere. These monsters are enough for now,” Wang Han said.
"That's all for now." Upon hearing this, both Wang Mang and the local deity felt a little regretful. These past few days, they had captured many spirits and monsters, gaining considerable strength. The local deity also felt it was a pity; without the spirits and monsters, the region would be much more peaceful, but it was a shame Wang Han wasn't going to capture them anymore.
“Landlord, how is Uncle Nine doing lately?” Wang Han asked.
“Uncle Nine?” Upon hearing this, the local deity shook his head and said, “Boss, Uncle Nine adopted a little zombie from the previous dynasty from somewhere. Also, one of his two disciples, Wencai, left him and we don’t know where he went. He has taken in another disciple named Ah Hao.”
"Oh, Uncle Nine adopted a little zombie." Upon hearing this, Wang Han said with a smile, "That's quite interesting. Do you know why he adopted a little zombie?"
"I don't know about that," the local deity shook his head and said, "However, Four-Eyed Taoist and Monk Yixiu often visit Uncle Nine's house, seemingly to discuss something. Since they are all skilled in magic, I didn't sneak in to avoid being discovered."
"I understand. You can continue with your business," Wang Han said. "Wang Mang, I'll take you back first."
——————————————
"Why did Uncle Nine adopt the little zombie?" At night, above the town where Uncle Nine lived, Wang Han, dressed in black armor, looked down at Uncle Nine's house. Behind his mask, his pure white eyes pierced through hundreds of meters and through the house, seeing the situation in Uncle Nine's house clearly.
At Uncle Nine's house, the little zombie, who was being punished for doing something wrong, handed the chimney to Uncle Nine and carefully lit it for him. Then, it stuck out its butt and looked at Uncle Nine pitifully.
"I didn't expect this little zombie to be so intelligent. It's a special kind of zombie." Wang Han saw everything the little zombie did clearly. He was very surprised that the little zombie had such high intelligence. Generally, the stronger a zombie is, the higher its intelligence. Powerful zombies can even recall all their memories from their previous life. This little zombie's intelligence was no different from that of an ordinary child, but its strength was utterly pathetic.
"Squeak..." Suddenly, the gate to Uncle Jiu's courtyard was pushed open, and a farmer wearing blue clothes and a straw hat on his back walked in.
"Master, you have another chance to show your love and compassion." Qiu Sheng (Ah Hao, because it's a continuous story and the same actor is called Qiu Sheng) and Ah Fang were relieved to be spared a punishment and quickly went out together.
"Master, we're in big trouble!" Zhuang Jiahan shouted as he entered the courtyard. Seeing Qiu Sheng and the other man come out, he quickly asked, "Is Master here?"
"Is it inside?" Qiu Sheng asked.
Upon hearing this, the man quickly went inside.
When Uncle Nine saw the man enter the house, he quickly blocked the little zombie beside him and hid it behind a pillar so the man couldn't see it.
The man didn't see the little zombie. He went to Uncle Nine's side, squatted down, and said anxiously, "Uncle Nine, this is terrible, outside..."
"Bang..." Before the man could finish speaking, he bumped into a flowerpot shelf next to him, and the flowerpot fell down and hit him on the head, knocking him unconscious.
"Help him inside first, get the tools ready." Seeing the man knocked unconscious by the flowerpot, Uncle Jiu breathed a sigh of relief and instructed Qiu Sheng and Ah Fang.
In the sky, Wang Han muttered to himself, his gaze drifting towards a distant banana grove. He continued, "Uncle Nine has a customer. Should I take this little zombie away now?"
————————————————
In the banana grove, Uncle Nine arrived with his two apprentices. After looking around for a while, he looked at the broken red rope and said, "It seems that a banana tree here has become a spirit. Everyone, don't go near the banana tree."

"Little zombie." At Uncle Nine's house, Wang Han suddenly appeared in front of the little zombie. Looking at the little zombie who was frowning and staring at the scattered money swords in front of him, he asked with a gentle smile, "What is your relationship with One-Eyebrow Taoist (Uncle Nine's Taoist name)?"
