Chapter 145 One-third Success

Twenty minutes later, Wei Lai and his friends came out of the clothing store carrying two sets of clothes.

During this time, Lin Yingying asked them about school matters. After hearing that Mianhai strictly prohibited dating, a look of regret flashed across her face.

Then she remembered what happened to her sister in high school and felt the school's actions were right.

However, seeing how Wei Lai and the others got along, I felt it was pretty good, so I didn't pursue the topic any further. Instead, I talked about the purpose of their visit and got a general understanding of the situation.

"Since you've bought the clothes, I'll keep my word and take you to see the deputy manager."

"Isn't he the manager? Can the deputy manager's words have the final say?" Tong Duoduo was worried that their clothes would be bought in vain. Her mother didn't have the concept of chief manager and deputy manager when selling clothes. At most, there were store managers and salespersons.

"Don't worry about this. The manager is just a figurehead. The deputy manager still has the final say."

Lin Yingying had wanted to complain for a long time. Not only did her father assign her here, but he also found someone to order her around. She had been feeling tired and bored for the past few months.

As soon as she finished speaking, a bald middle-aged man walked down from the fifth floor. He looked at her with complicated eyes and said nothing.

Lin Yingying was caught saying bad things about someone, and she couldn't hold back her face, so she smiled awkwardly.

"Hello, Manager Zhao. I have something else to do, so I won't chat with you anymore."

After saying that, Lin Yingying looked anxiously at Wei Lai and the others and told them to leave quickly.

When she arrived at her office and closed the door, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"What bad luck! I hope he doesn't tell dad about it."

"Where's the deputy manager you mentioned, sister?"

"Maybe he went out for something. Let's wait a little longer."

Tong Duoduo looked at the empty desk in confusion, and Wang Zi stood by the wall and casually said something.

Wei Lai and Qing Ting both looked at Lin Yingying.

"Eh? Am I exposed?" Lin Yingying noticed the way the two people were looking at her, but she just smiled casually.

After walking to the desk, Lin Yingying sat down and her expression immediately became serious.

"As you can see, I'm the deputy manager of this department store. You said you're from the Mianhai Student Union and are here to solicit sponsorship for the school basketball game. Do you have any proof other than the school emblem on your uniform?"

"Yes." Wei Lai took out the tag that Jiang Honghong gave them from his pocket.

"Student Union President and External Relations Director?" Lin Yingying looked at the two suspiciously. "The Student Union shouldn't have changed leadership yet, right? Are you both in your third year of high school?"

"No, the seniors in the third year are busy. We are just here to represent the student union." Wei Lai used his ability and turned to look at Qingting.

"Xiaoting, you have the president's cell phone number, give it to her."

"Actually, you don't even need the president's phone number." Qingting chuckled. "Lin Yingying, a student from the class of 2008 at Mianhai High School, served as the deputy director of the External Relations Department in her freshman year, and then director in her sophomore year, a position she held until the change of classes in her junior year."

"If we don't have the same name, this person must be you, Manager Lin."

"Just tell me my ID number." Lin Yingying was surprised. "How did you know all this? I was just trying to tease you guys."

"Because I'm a member of the secretariat, I did my homework carefully before coming here."

When Qingting spoke, Wei Lai looked at her with the same surprise, which made the smile on her face even brighter.

She liked to see Wei Lai make such an expression, and found it very interesting.

"Well, I won't pretend anymore. It's boring." Lin Yingying threw the tag at Wei Lai, leaned back in the boss chair, and used the chair to turn herself around.

"A basketball game. It was just an ordinary school game back in our class, but it's grown into something so big before we knew it."

"It is true that sponsoring you will have a certain publicity effect on our department store."

"but!"

Lin Yingying suddenly sat up straight and stared at the four people.

"The results are the results, but businesspeople have to calculate their accounts clearly. I won't do anything if the investment and return are not proportional."

"It's impossible for me to invest tens of thousands of dollars in sponsorship alone. As a senior student, I suggest you find two more well-known businesses in the new district to join."

"As long as you can find one, I'll join."

"That's natural. Senior, please leave me your phone number so we can get in touch later."

While Wei Lai was screening alternative merchants in his mind, Qingting took the initiative to walk to Lin Yingying and handed her her mobile phone.

This department store is just getting started. If it could be sponsored by other established businesses, it would likely have a better publicity effect than just sponsoring Mianhai.

When Lin Yingying entered her number on her mobile phone, Qingting listened to her thoughts and the smile on her face became more natural.

"Thank you, Senior. You taught me a lot."

"Really? You're welcome."

When returning the phone to Qingting, Lin Yingying retorted subconsciously.

But when Wei Lai and the others left, she suddenly came to her senses.

That's not right, she was just explaining the situation from her perspective and she wasn't teaching them anything.

A polite way of speaking? Probably.

After coming out of the department store, Wang Zi and Tong Duoduo cheered. No matter what, the first goal was half achieved.

"Wei Lai, let's find a place to have a meal and celebrate properly."

"Yes, yes, it's almost noon."

"It's my treat!"

"Let's take a taxi to the city center later."

Wei Lai booked a ride-hailing car on his mobile phone, but he was actually unsure.

[The first target is a former senior student who is about the same age as us, so she's easy to talk to. The next two are more difficult to deal with.]
