Chapter 18 Probably Because We Are Best Friends

A goldfish scooping stall.

Qing Qishu and An Baoer were sitting on the goldfish scooping stool.

"Husband, are you okay? This is the second time I've tried, and I still haven't caught a single fish."

"A man can't say no. I'll definitely catch you a goldfish this time."

Qing Qishu has rolled up his sleeves, and his eyes behind his glasses are very focused.

The owner of the fish stall was a chubby older woman who looked at the couple with a charming smile.

"Girl, if you can't fish out your husband, how about I give you a goldfish?"

"No need, if I really can't get it, just pretend I've never been here."

Qing Qishu put two paper nets into the water at the same time. When he was about to catch a goldfish, the paper nets broke as soon as they touched the goldfish's body.

An Baoer was very happy to see her husband's stubborn expression. She also noticed Qingting and Weilai, two little guys, walking towards her and then suddenly hiding, so she whispered a few words in Qing Qishu's ear.

There was already a pile of torn paper nets in the basket beside him. Qing Qishu took a look and nodded.

"Let's stop here for today, honey, let's go look somewhere else."

"good."

An Baoer took Qing Qishu's hand and stood up.

Seeing that the fat sheep was about to leave, the stall owner hurriedly greeted him.

"Don't go, little brother. I'll definitely get it if I try again. I promise."

"No, my wife wants to go somewhere else, and I can't stay in one place forever."

Qing Qishu turned his back to her, waved his hand, and didn't even turn his head back, without any reluctance.

After Qingting's parents left, Wei Lai pulled Qingting out from behind the stall next door.

"Why are you hiding from your parents?"

The two walked towards the fish stall, and Wei Lai thought of Qingting's behavior just now.

As soon as they saw the couple, Qingting pulled him into the shadows of the ceramic ornaments stall.

[It's a little awkward to see them, but there's no need to hide.]

"It's rare for mom and dad to come out to play, so we'd better not disturb them."

Qingting stuck out her pink tongue, made a face, and started jogging with Wei Lai.

"Hurry up and go, we have other places to go, don't waste time."

"knew."

Putting the pendant into his trouser pocket, Wei Lai ran with her.

The two people ran to the fish stall, and the stall owner was immediately delighted when she saw that they were two children.

"Children, come and catch the goldfish too. It's twenty yuan for two people, but you might catch a very beautiful goldfish."

"No, we're just playing alone, so can these two coupons be used together?"

These two damn kids, they don't want to spend a penny, and they still want goldfish.

The stall owner's expression froze for a moment, but she quickly adjusted herself and took the coupon from Qingting's hand.

Hearing her inner thoughts, Qingting whispered in Wei Lai's ear:

"Mom and Dad didn't catch any just now. It must be very difficult. Just try."

"I know."

Wei Lai turned his head and looked at the big basin containing the goldfish. After a whole night of tossing and turning, the goldfish were still swimming leisurely. He felt very strange.

He had been looking for Qingting for so long and was dragged by her to play with the ring, so he would feel tired, but the goldfish were not tired at all.

"I'll get you some paper nets." The stall owner took the coupons and went into the stall to prepare them.

Wei Lai stared at her, and a picture slipped into his eyes and appeared in his mind.

On the table inside the stall, there was a plastic box with a pile of paper nets inside. The stall owner turned her back to the two men, picked out a dozen paper nets from the box, took out five from the remaining pile of paper nets, turned around and handed it to him.

As soon as the first paper net was put into the water, it was hit by the goldfish's tail and a small hole was torn in it.

【What a despicable adult. 】

After knowing what would happen in the future, Wei Lai let go of Qingting's hand and quietly followed the stall owner.

"Um?"

Qingting looked at Wei Lai who was leaving in confusion. Just as she was about to follow him, Wei Lai turned around and made a gesture to her to keep quiet.

After hesitating for a moment, Qingting did not follow. She turned around and walked to the basin, holding her skirt and looking at the little goldfish inside.

The stall owner had just picked out five paper nets from the box when Wei Lai's voice suddenly came from behind her.

"Auntie, are these five paper nets for me? It says over there that they're five for ten dollars."

Wei Lai stood behind the stall owner and looked up at her.

The stall owner's expression changed several times, but she finally smiled and nodded and said:

"You are such a smart kid. These five paper nets are yours."

The stall owner handed the paper net to Wei Lai, watched his back as he left, her eyes flickered a few times, and she let out a breath.

He's just a kid, he doesn't know anything and may not be able to catch goldfish.

Returning to the basin, Wei Lai said to Qing Ting with full confidence:

"Do you have a goldfish you like? I'll help you catch it."

"The one in the corner." Qingting pointed her finger at the water surface. The little goldfish with a little red blush on its forehead and tail was startled and quickly jumped to another corner.

This flustered look feels very similar to Wei Lai.

"No problem, just watch me."

[We must not let her underestimate us this time.]

Wei Lai's inner thoughts made Qingting smile. She squatted beside him and watched him work hard.

When the first paper net was cast, it didn't break, and Wei Lai successfully caught the little goldfish. However, it swung its tail, splashing water on his face, and the paper net broke, and it fell back into the water.
