The autumn wind blows on the windowsill.
A dandelion sways its fluffy flower umbrella in the wind. With the breeze, the small white flower umbrellas break away from the receptacle, fly freely in the air, and drift away into the distance.
When the last little flower umbrella floated into the air reluctantly, a pair of white hands stretched out from the window and held it tightly in their palms.
"Phew, luckily I made it in time. You almost ran away." Qingting turned towards the room, slowly spread out her palms, and saw the little dandelion lying quietly in her palms. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Bringing the flowerpot into the room, Qingting gave the little dandelion a bath and buried it in the flowerpot.
Wait until next spring, and a new cycle will begin.
…
When the bus drove from Qinghe Junior High School to Xiaohe Town, there was only a hint of sunset left in the sky.
The three of them got off the bus at the stop. Qingting looked at the swaying clover in the field and thought of the small dandelions she had planted a month ago.
The eighth generation Xiaoying should be almost old enough to move out.
Walking on the road beside the field, Wei Lai remembered something and took out his mobile phone.
"My phone still has some battery left. Why don't you give your parents a call? You don't want to be locked out like last time."
"No need, I have the key." Qingting took out a key tied with a red rope from her skirt as if by magic.
The key shining in the red light of the sunset once again refreshed Wei Lai's cognition. It turned out that girls' skirts could have pockets.
"Where are your keys? Did you bring them? Your mother gave me a spare key. If you don't have it, you can go to my house to get it first." Qingting asked Wei Lai in return.
Wei Lai touched the key in his pocket, glanced at Fang Feifei who was following behind them, and gave up a tempting and risky idea.
"I brought it. I'm not as forgetful as you."
[I'd better not go. If I run into Uncle Qing, I might die.]
She really hasn't changed at all, she's still so afraid of her dad.
"Okay then, when we get to the old place, we'll go our separate ways."
"Eh? Aren't you neighbors?"
As soon as Wei Lai nodded, Fang Feifei walked up from behind, stood next to Qingting and asked.
"My house is more than a hundred meters away from Wei Lai's house, and the way home is different for a short distance."
"Oh." Fang Feifei responded with a little regret.
[I thought I could even know where his home is, but it seems there's a chance.]
Any chance?
Qingting smiled with a gleam in her eyes. It seemed that she had to be scolded first after arriving home.
Accompanied by the evening breeze, the three people separated at the place where Wei Lai and Qingting often met at Primary School.
"See you tomorrow, call me."
"Well, see you tomorrow. I'll call you to come over."
After waving goodbye to Wei Lai, Qingting took Fang Feifei and walked along the alley towards her home.
When she arrived at her door, Fang Feifei looked curiously at Qingting's private entrance and yard.
This was also her first time visiting a classmate's home, and she planned to stay overnight.
"Can I take a picture and let my family know I'm safe?"
"If you'd like me to take a look, yes."
"Of course that's no problem."
Fang Feifei agreed readily, raised her cell phone, took a few photos of the door, yard, and surroundings, and then sent the photos to her family in front of Qingting.
[This is so troublesome. I was worried she wouldn't agree. Luckily, she's a good person.]
Qingting doesn’t care about taking photos. The location of her house can be found by asking someone nearby.
She just wanted to hear what Fang Feifei was thinking and see if the photos were sent to her family.
Fang Feifei's parents saw in the Penguin group on her mobile phone that they told her not to cause trouble to her classmates. At least she could rest assured that they had informed her family about her coming.
Judging from the reactions of her family, she must be the type who is well-behaved and sensible in front of her parents, otherwise most parents would not let their children suddenly live with a classmate.
This also made Qingting more confident about getting along with Fang Feifei in the future.
Because they were busy with work on Friday, An Baoer and Qing Qishu could not come back before dark.
Qingting didn't even ring the doorbell, but opened the door and went into the house.
He took out his summer slippers from the shoe cabinet and gave them to Fang Feifei.
"You can wear this first. This is something I've worn, but it's already been washed. I also have a pair of slippers for guests. When Duoduo comes tomorrow, give them to her."
"Who are these slippers for?" Fang Feifei saw the stuffed slippers placed in the corner of the shoe cabinet at a glance.
"This pair of slippers belongs to Wei Lai. It's his second pair. Boys' feet grow too fast. The slippers he wore three years ago can no longer fit him." Qingting said a little worriedly, holding her face with her hands.
The sight of a housewife complaining about her husband changing slippers too frequently left Fang Feifei speechless.
[You guys don't live close to each other, and your family even gave him slippers. This is...]
The sadness only lasted for a moment. Qingting closed the shoe cabinet, put on her slippers, and grabbed her own suitcase.
"Fei Fei, give me a hand and help me carry the suitcase upstairs. Come to my room and see where you want to sleep."
"Huh? Oh."
Fang Feifei, whose eyes were still fixed on the shoe cabinet, followed Qingting's call before she reacted, helped Qingting, lifted the suitcase, and started walking towards the stairs.
Following the sound of footsteps coming upstairs, Fang Feifei arrived at the door of Qingting's room.
I thought the level of intimacy between these two childhood sweethearts was only to the extent of having a pair of slippers in each other's homes.
But as soon as the door of the room opened, she found out that she was wrong.
