Chapter 15 The Poor Little Beggar

Chapter 15 The Poor Little Beggar

That day, Yun Wansheng had a big meal in this ancient place for the first time. The food in the restaurant was good, but a little bland.

Mu Xingci sent her back to the gate of the villa: "There are still things to do in the military camp today, so I may be back late. If you don't have anything to do, just go to bed first."

"My Lord, if it's too late, you don't need to come to the villa. This place is not as close as the general's mansion." Yun Wansheng didn't want to serve him.

"Yun Wansheng, do you deserve a beating? I just treated you nicely, and you tried to act pretentiously. If you make me angry again, you'll be punished." Mu Xingci pinched her little face lightly, seemingly doting.

"If you're punished again, you won't be able to do anything else?"

"I know a lot, and I will use it all on you tonight." Mu Xingci lowered his head and said ambiguously in her ear, and kissed her on the ear with his thin lips slightly raised.

Yun Wansheng listened to the man's teasing with a hidden meaning, and stepped on his instep without any hesitation: "My Lord, it's time for you to go to the military camp."

Looking at the man with a painful expression on his face, the woman smiled very happily, and without giving him a chance to speak, she turned and walked in.

Mu Xingci watched the cold yet lively woman leave, with a tenderness in his eyes that he himself didn't know about: "Little girl, you will be in trouble tonight." After saying that, he got on the carriage again and went to the military camp.

Not long after he left, Yun Wansheng left the house again, planning to buy a few more books to read, otherwise she would be bored to death at home.

When she was about to reach the study, she was suddenly stopped by a little beggar about twelve or thirteen years old.

"Girl, please be kind and give me something to eat! I haven't eaten for a day." The little beggar stretched out his dirty hands and looked pitifully at the woman in front of him.

Yun Wansheng looked at the pale and skinny little boy and felt pity for him: "Okay! Come with me!" She smiled gently and walked towards the noodle stall in front.

When they arrived at the noodle stall, Yun Wansheng asked for a bowl of noodles for him.

The little beggar obviously didn't expect to have noodles to eat today, and he quickly knelt down to Yun Wansheng: "Thank you, young lady. I will never forget your kindness."

"Hurry up and get up. A man's knees are made of gold. He can't kneel down to anyone casually." Yun Wansheng hurriedly helped the skinny boy up.

"Thank you, girl. Thank you, girl!" The little beggar was so excited that he had tears in his eyes and was still expressing his gratitude.

"Okay. The noodles are here. If it's not enough, we can order another bowl." Yun Wansheng placed the noodles brought by the vendor in front of the little beggar.

"Thank you, young lady. It's more than enough." The little beggar wiped his tears and started eating regardless of the heat.

"Eat slowly, I'll make sure you're full." There was a trace of heartache in Yun Wansheng's eyes. Such a young child had ended up on the streets, living a life with no food to eat.

After hearing this, the little beggar ate a little slower.

Seeing him like this, Yun Wansheng asked for another bowl, but the little beggar finished one bowl and didn't eat the other one.

"Miss, can you let me take this bowl of noodles back? There's a big brother who hasn't eaten a single grain of rice in two days, and he's injured. I'm afraid he'll starve to death if he doesn't eat."

Yun Wansheng was slightly stunned when she heard this. She didn't expect that this little beggar was so kind despite his young age.

"Eat yours first. When you're full, I'll buy other food for that person."

When the little beggar heard this, he immediately became happy. After thanking him, he ate the bowl of noodles.

"Are you full?"

"I'm full this time." After eating, the little beggar felt much more energetic.

"Let's go buy some buns." Yun Wansheng said with a smile.

"Okay! Thank you!"

"You're welcome! Let's go!"

An adult and a child came to the bun shop. Yun Wansheng bought twenty buns, thinking that they would be enough for the two of them to eat for two days.

"Little brother, what's your name?" Yun Wansheng asked the boss to wrap him up with cloth and asked the little beggar while waiting.

"Everyone calls me Goudan."

Yun Wansheng smiled slightly when she heard this: "I'll remember you."

By this time, the buns were wrapped. Yun Wansheng was afraid that other beggars would snatch away all the food from him, so she thought of sending him back.

"Goudan, where do you live? I'll take you back! Otherwise, I'm afraid you won't be able to keep these buns."

"That's great. We can live in a dilapidated temple outside the city." The little beggar was also afraid that he could not bring the buns back to the dilapidated temple. With this beautiful sister to send him, he was willing to do so.

So Yun Wansheng asked the little beggar to lead the way, and they went out of the city gate.

After leaving the city gate and walking another three miles, I saw a dilapidated temple not far ahead.

Yun Wansheng quickened her pace and arrived at the entrance of the dilapidated temple, where she heard sounds of beating and scolding coming from inside the temple.

"You little bastard, get away from us right away. Don't die in this temple. You're such an unlucky creature."

As the cursing continued, Yun Wansheng saw two young beggars carrying out a beggar whose face was covered with wounds.

"Big brother! Brother Amao, Brother Qiang, let him go!" Goudan ran over quickly when he saw it.

"Goudan, this man is dying. Staying here will only cause us trouble. Who is willing to carry a dead body and bury him?" Ah Mao did not let the man go. Instead, he pushed Goudan away with force.

"Stop! Bullying a child is nothing." Yun Wansheng shouted and stepped forward: "Help this man back to me." As he said that, he took out twenty copper coins and waved them in front of their eyes.

When the two beggars saw that there were copper coins to be taken, they immediately helped the man back.

After putting the people down, Yun Wansheng threw the copper coins to Goudan with disgust: "Give the money to them." She would not give it to them personally.

"Thank you, girl. Thank you, girl." Beggars don't care about their face when they have money to pay.

Yun Wansheng ignored them and squatted down to look at the dying young beggar.

The man was disheveled and looked ugly, so Yun Wansheng hesitated for a moment and then examined his body without being bothered by the dirt.

Finally, it was discovered that his fatal wound was on the chest. Judging from the wound, it seemed that he was injured by a sharp weapon. The other parts of his body were just superficial injuries.

After the examination, Yun Wansheng stood up and looked at the cat. "Please go to the city and ask a doctor to come. Tell him that this man has been wounded in the chest by a sharp weapon. The wound has rotted away and he has a high fever. Ask him to take care of him and prepare medicine."

"Girl, it's okay for me to run an errand, but I don't have any money and I'm afraid the doctor won't come!"

Yun Wansheng gave him a few dozen coins, and then Ah Mao happily went to ask the doctor for help. He could deduct money from the money, so he was naturally happy.

"Your name is Aqiang, right? Please go get some clean water." Yun Wansheng instructed with a cold expression.

Aqiang had just received some silver money, so it was difficult for him to refuse to go. He took a broken basin and went out.

"Goudan, how did this man get injured?" Judging from the knife edge, the other party wanted to kill him. He was just a beggar, was it necessary to kill him?

"I don't know either. He ran in here at night half a month ago. We wanted to chase him away because it was obvious that he was being hunted. We were afraid of being implicated, so we wanted to get rid of him.

Unexpectedly, even though he was injured, he was still able to beat five or six beggars including Ah Mao to a pulp, and even threatened them that if they dared to report to the police, he would say that these beggars were his accomplices.

So none of them dared to act rashly. Later, his injuries became more and more serious, and we had no money to treat him, so the food we gave him was already good enough.
