Chapter 369: Requesting Immortal Order 10

This is obviously the slum area of the city.

In a courtyard filled with miscellaneous recyclables, the cry of a baby girl was heard from inside the house.

"Old Geng, it's a daughter!"

"A thousand gold coins, that's fine too..."

The expression on the baby girl's father's face was actually not as good as he said.

In this era, among cultivators, the strong are respected, so there is not much difference between men and women.

But for ordinary families like theirs, the labor force of males is very important.

So among mortals, especially those in the slums, everyone wants to have a boy.

Old Geng runs a recycling business. It's hard work, but the money he earns is top-tier in the slums. He recycles a variety of building materials that don't look like something out of a world of immortal cultivation, discarded treasures, and strangely constructed mechanical devices.

Before the baby girl, he already had two sons.

After the baby girl, he had two more sons.

When the baby girl was five or six years old, she ran around in the yard every day, searching for any scrap materials she could carry to build blocks.

"Mother of the child, why did you let Qiao'er escape again?!"

Old Geng looked at the girl who looked like she had rolled in the mud, and yelled into the house at the top of his voice.

A slightly overweight woman came out of the house holding a baby. When she saw the girl, her expression became very helpless.

"As a father, you didn't even know your daughter ran away!!"

"I'm busy with business!"

The woman carried the baby on her back, walked over, picked up the girl, and wiped the stains off the girl's face with a towel.

"I just changed my clothes this morning, and they're like this again..."

"Qiao'er, come here, give daddy a kiss~"

Lao Geng came over and put his bearded face close to the girl.

The girl screamed in pain.

"Alright! Aren't you busy with business?" The woman turned sideways and saw another stain on the girl's face. "I just wiped it clean, and here you go again!"

After saying that, he kicked Lao Geng on the butt.

Old Geng chuckled and walked over to a piece of scrap he had just collected.

"What are you looking at me for? Do you know how to dismantle this piece of junk?"

Next to him, a boy with a newly grown mustache and still in his voice change period shook his head blankly.

Old Geng glared at the two children, frightening them so much that they stepped back.

"Don't move! Watch carefully, both of you! This base part is the linkage structure of the steam train. The shock absorbers in this batch of base parts from the Iron Fire Sect are garbage! They're also a frequent customer for our recycling. This is the third time I'm teaching you how to dismantle it, so watch carefully..."

In a blink of an eye.

The girl grew up to be thirteen years old.

It’s still the same yard.

Lao Geng sat on a metal recliner made of various scrap materials, drinking tea leisurely.

Geng Qiaoer had her hair tied short and was wearing work clothes that were covered in oil stains.

She was frowning, looking at a pile of burnt black waste brought to her by a thin man.

"Don't worry, this is definitely the Jiulianmen Type B3 Sand Steel. The iron mark is burnt black, but it won't affect the reading!"

"Brother, strike along this line with an axe." Geng Qiaoer used the small tool she carried with her to draw a line on the scrap wood.

A sturdy young man came over and drew his axe.

"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing!" The thin man stopped him, "Don't mess around if you don't want to take it. What if you damage the structure inside?! Don't be fooled by the outside of this thing, the inside is not damaged at all!"

Geng Qiaoer stared at the thin man without saying a word. She just put one foot on the useless man and looked at him.

"Can you accept it? In one word, if you don't accept it, don't waste my time."

"Two spirit coins."

"My time..." the thin man blurted out.

This price is far from what he expected.

"Then you move out. I won't send you off."

Geng Qiaoer took her feet off the scrap wood and rubbed the black mud on the soles of her shoes on the ground.

The thin man's face turned red, and he looked at Geng Qiaoer's expression. In the end, he dragged the useless guy out of the yard.

"Sister, aren't you going to take this? This bone material is indeed only broken in the shell. If I fix it, I can sell it for at least a dozen spirit coins..."

"Brother, I've never seen the Jiulianmen Type B3 sand steel frame, but judging by its structure, it should produce four crisp sounds," Geng Qiaoer said. "When I kicked it just now, there was only one."

"Either the structure inside is stuck—we can't fix it. Or, this person is using Grade 9 bone material to impersonate someone else."

"This black mud doesn't look like it was burned."

Geng Qiaoer pointed to the black stains on the ground.

"So, he must be a liar."

Next to them, the two brothers were stunned.

"It's almost time for dinner, hey!"

From inside the house, one could hear the mother's cry.

Old Geng shuddered and sat up from his chair.

Inside the room, nine people were sitting at a round table.

The Geng couple, together with their five children, four sons and one daughter.

There were also two girls who were homeless children adopted from the slums. The old Geng couple gave them food and a place to stay, and they also helped with housework on weekdays.

"Qiao'er! Wash your hands! Wash your hands!!"

When Geng's mother saw Geng Qiaoer's dirty appearance, a surge of blood rushed to her head.

"Your eldest brother and second brother both know how to wash their hands, why don't you listen?!"

Lao Geng was laughing secretly on the side.

"What are you kidding! A girl can inherit anything good, but if she inherits your slovenliness, how will she get married in the future?! Huh!?"
