"Is this a fucking immortal?!"
After seeing what these men in green did, the scholars, farmers, merchants, men, women, young and old in Bei'an City all had the same complaint in their minds.
Shouldn't an immortal be like Mr. Liu, detached from the mundane world, with great magical powers, unconcerned with worldly affairs, and detached from the material world?
Why are these people in green so... weird!?
They would walk around the city, touching this and that, and even try to enter residents' houses. After entering, they would chat with the owners of the houses and try to exchange silver for some items in the houses!
There are also people who would shout in a restaurant, "Waiter! Give me two pounds of beef and a jar of good wine!" and then fall drunk on the table without even finishing half a pound of meat.
Some people went straight into brothels, listened to music, and drank with girls, but for some reason, they did not proceed to the last step. Instead, they ran out of the door, cursing someone harshly.
There were even people who set up stalls in the market, selling cloth, medicinal herbs, weapons and other sundries.
As Ye Ao walked on the street, he had become accustomed to the curious and awe-inspiring gazes of passers-by.
In front of the school gate, Ye Ao stopped a child who looked only seven or eight years old, but was wearing silk clothes.
"My little friend, I see you have amazing bones. I have a copy of 'The True Way of Breathing' here, and I think it's meant for you. I'll sell it to you for ten taels of silver."
"Mom!!" the child burst into tears.
The surrounding children cast terrified glances at him. The adults, though looking over as well, were hesitant to intervene due to his status as an immortal. Even the patrol guarding the school gate, despite receiving the notice that "those in green clothing who break the law are subject to the same punishment as common people," still didn't dare to step forward.
After all, he is an immortal!!
As soon as the child started crying, Ye Ao panicked.
When had he ever encountered such a thing!
The gazes from the surrounding residents made his face red. He could only bite the bullet and keep saying "don't cry" while looking around for help.
Suddenly, he saw a vendor selling candied haws.
Ye Ao rushed over without even asking the price. He put down a piece of silver, picked up a candied haws and ran back.
"Don't cry, don't cry. Come here, brother will treat you to some candied haws." Ye Ao handed the candied haws to the child.
"Thank you, uncle!" The child took the candied haws, burst into laughter, and started to eat happily.
How come this kid is scarier than the boss!
Ye Ao touched his forehead which was oozing with sweat.
If I encountered this situation in the real world, I would probably be socially dead on the spot.
Fortunately, it was in a game, so although it was awkward, the pressure wasn't too great...
"S-Sir..."
Ye Ao turned around and saw that it was the candied haws vendor, so he asked, "What's going on?"
"There's too much silver... I can't find the change..."
"Huh?" Ye Ao was stunned for a moment, then realized, "Forget it if I can't find it."
"Sir, you paid, so these candied haws are all yours..."
When Ye Ao saw a pole full of candied haws, he immediately had an idea.
"OK."
Ye Ao quickly pulled the candied haws off the tree and shouted, "Children, come here. Brother will treat you to candied haws. Everyone has a share, and we'll eat them all until they're all gone!"
Wow!!!!
When the children who were leaving school heard that there were free candied haws to eat, they immediately rushed towards Ye Ao like zombies, stretched out their hands, surrounded Ye Ao, and shouted and danced.
Ye Ao distributed the candied haws one by one.
“Thank you, uncle!”
“Thank you, uncle!”
"Call me brother! I'm your brother!!"
The sudden impulse brought Ye Ao a sense of satisfaction.
At the same time, he was amazed in his heart that the NPC interaction in this game was so comprehensive and thoughtful. There were even several moments that made Ye Ao feel like he was traveling through time.
After each of the children had a string of candied haws, Ye Ao still had two in his hand. He then took a bite of one and savored its flavor.
Sweet, sour and crispy.
The wonderful taste experience made Ye Ao feel that this game was too real.
Could it be that this game is capturing the souls of the players and taking them to the world of immortal heroes?
It was Momo Duck who finished recording the video, walked up and patted Ye Ao on the shoulder.
Ye Ao turned around and found that it was an acquaintance, a girl.
He just handed over a string of candied haws.
"Try it, it's quite sweet."
"Oh..." Moya took the candied haws and looked at Ye Ao's cheeks bulging because of the candied haws. She wanted to remind him that he still owed her 20 contribution points, but for a moment, she found it difficult to say it out loud.
The first child who got the candied haws was picked up by a carriage.
"Where did the candied haws come from?" asked the man in the carriage.
"An uncle gave it to me."
"What uncle?"
"Just an uncle wearing dark green clothes."
"What!?" The man was shocked and quickly snatched the two remaining candied haws from his son's hand and looked at them carefully.
But no matter how you look at it, it's just an ordinary candied haws.
The man tried to eat one and found that it was just an ordinary candied haws.
So the man returned the candied haws to his son, without noticing the child's aggrieved expression with tears in his eyes and not daring to say a word.
When the carriage arrived home, the child rushed to his mother and immediately complained: "Mommy, mommy, daddy stole my candied haws!"
"You're such a grown-up, yet you're still snatching food from a child!" The woman glared at the man, then turned to comfort her son, "Be good, little boy. Daddy will buy you another one next time!"
