Zhenlu poked his head out from the door, held his breath, and watched Li Rulan who had already walked into the wooden house.
It was also the first time he knew that there were actually eight ancestors!
In this room, there is another ancestor whom he has never seen before! !
Qi Renjia also came to the door and took a look at the real deer.
Zhenlu didn't notice Qi Renjia's eyes. It was only after Qi Renjia coughed lightly that Zhenlu retracted his head as if he had been electrocuted and looked at the floor.
But soon, the real deer raised its head again.
After all, Qi Renjia's realm is one level lower than his.
Before the two could interact further, a strong gust of wind blew out from the house. They both leaned to the side. Then, Qi Renjia frowned, covered his nose, and exhaled sharply several times.
Zhenlu Qijun also started sneezing repeatedly.
Because the wind blowing out of the wooden house was mixed with an extremely unpleasant smell, like the smell of mold and something fermenting and rotting mixed together.
"Don't you feel uncomfortable staying here all day long?" Li Rulan looked back at the seven old monks lying on the ground outside the wooden house, with a hint of pity on his face.
The wooden house has a square layout.
In the middle was a grayish-looking wooden table, and next to it were nine chairs made of the same material. Among them, the chair directly opposite the entrance was the most eye-catching.
This chair is one size larger than the others, and its style, carving and pattern are also more upscale than the other eight chairs.
The chairs were placed in a rather messy manner, most likely because a real deer had just run around inside and knocked them over.
A few folding screens were placed against the wall at the corner of the table. On the other side, there was a tall vase. Next to the vase, there was a small wooden stand lying on the ground. It must have been knocked over by the real deer after it rushed in.
Aside from the main door, the other three directions were divided into three small compartments. Under each compartment were some old futon mats, and the style of each compartment was different.
Some had paintings and calligraphy hung on the walls whose images were unclear; some had gauze curtains on the windows; and some had a small table in the compartment, on which were neatly placed brushes, inkstones, and other items...
Among them, the compartment in the middle is the largest, but its furnishings are the most ordinary.
The eighth old monk was lying in the compartment next to the largest compartment.
"Nine people?"
"No, there must have been a long period of time in between when no one stayed..."
Li Rulan came to the old monk with a cloth band around his neck and looked down at him.
The skinny old man stared at Li Rulan with his cloudy eyes wide open.
Then, a whimpering sound came from his mouth, which was tied with cloth.
Among the eight old monks, he was the only one tied up. Could it be that he was not in the same group as the other seven?
Li Rulan helped the skinny old monk to his feet and tried to tear the cloth from his mouth. Just as he had guessed, the cloth was indeed a treasure with sealing power!
Moreover, the quality is not low!!
However, the sealing effect on the cloth has become quite fragile under the ravages of time.
Li Rulan just used a little brute force and pulled it off.
But the cloth had already stuck to the old monk's lips, fusing with his flesh and blood. The pull caused the old monk's mouth to bleed!
The old monk seemed to feel nothing at all, and his mouth, which was soaked in dark red blood, actually showed a bright smile!
"Let me ask you a question. Do you know, a woman?"
The old monk in cloth raised his head and looked at Li Rulan.
He slowly put away his smile, and his eyes became dazed again.
Li Rulan waited for two minutes. Seeing that the old monk still did not respond, he waved his hand in front of his eyes, trying to call his attention back from his trance.
This sudden movement really brought the old monk back to his senses.
"Just kill me."
"Answer my question first."
"What's the problem?"
"I'm looking for a woman, you know?"
The old monk's cloudy eyes suddenly lit up with a bit of brilliance. He looked at Li Rulan and said, "Are you looking for my master?"
"Hmm? Your master?" Li Rulan squatted down and looked at the old monk. "What is your master like?"
"Unparalleled in elegance and grace, he is the best in the world!"
"Do you have a picture of her?"
"none."
"What's her name?"
"The master's name cannot be revealed."
Li Rulan did not ask any more questions, but frowned at the old monk.
Seeing this, the old monk said, "Now that you have finished asking questions, can you start now?"
"Why do you want to die?"
"I want to kill those seven traitors!" the old monk gritted his teeth.
After Li Rulan thought about it for a while, she roughly understood the key points.
These eight old monks seemed to be connected by some mysterious technique. If one died, the others would all die or suffer serious damage.
Or, the other seven had cast some kind of secret technique on this one. As long as the tied-up old monk was fine, the other seven would be fine. Of course, the tied-up old monk would definitely have to bear a heavy price.
"Traitor? How did they betray you?"
"They betrayed their master!" The old monk's mouth was bleeding and his tone became much heavier.
"Tell me about it in detail."
"Why don't you do it? Don't you want to kill me? ...Were you sent by them?"
