Chapter 7 Test

This is the true holographic world!!

The players around were jumping up and down on the ground excitedly, but were soon out of breath; some rushed directly to the wasteland on the side and started interacting with the environment; some were chatting with each other and expressing their excitement.

However, Li Teng noticed that a figure was running up the mountain without saying a word.

Progress party?

Only then did Li Teng notice the novice tasks on his main interface.

"Climb Yu Cui Peak and join the Cang Xia Sect."

Apart from this, there are no other prompts. On all interfaces, only the system and status can be opened.

He had nothing on him except the clothes he was wearing.

Li Teng didn't delay any longer and walked up the mountain.

In front of the mountain gate, many players were immersed in the novelty of the holographic game, and naturally they had thrown the novice missions aside.

"Damn, look at these weeds, they can all be destroyed!!"

"This stone can be picked up and used as a throwing object!"

"The character controls are a bit stiff, and the fun of dancing becomes dull."

"Holy crap, this all-terrain system is so interactive! It seems like there's no limit! You can only climb trees! You can't just jump onto them!! Your shoes and pants get soaked when you go in the water, and they never dry!"

In a place where no one cared, an adventurous player with two IDs named Zheng He looked at the mountain gate, made up his mind, turned around and walked in the opposite direction.

In that direction, there were only endless woods and rugged mountain roads.

His talent is the superhuman ability to walk at ten thousand paces, which allows him to walk without consuming any energy. At first glance, it seems like a pretty useless talent, but if it were a true holographic game, then if used properly, it would be an extremely powerful talent!

Zheng He is an exploratory player.

As we all know, exploratory players are not bound by tasks and rules at all.

For example, the man in blue who wakes up in the apocalypse and leaves his wife and children behind, picking up trash all over the world.

For example, in construction games, instead of following normal routines, circuit programming is used to realize various possible creators.

For example, there are masters who try to figure out the patterns in horror games, walk ghosts like dogs, and perform many incredible operations.

They are "playing" the game in their own way.

Explore the boundaries of the game, discover bugs, and even understand the designer's ideas.

This is where their fun lies.

Zheng He casually broke off a branch and knocked on the grass in front of him, clearing a path.

Flying insects, damp soil, blades of grass hanging from branches, and the durability of the branches that can be felt directly...

Zheng He was amazed by the sophistication of this holographic game.

When I shoveled the ground on a slightly open area, a cloud of dust was raised. In the sunlight, the fine grained texture seemed just like the real world!

What kind of algorithm is this!?

Is it implemented locally on the headset? Or is it connected to the cloud and computed?

As he walked, Zheng He suddenly realized a problem.

That means he has no map at all now!

The surrounding area had become unfamiliar at some point, and even the way we came had disappeared.

"What's going on?"

Zheng He was not panicked, after all, this was still a game.

"Could it be that I've triggered a boundary, and the game designer's idea is to put a box at the boundary that will make you get lost. If you cross this boundary, you will be trapped in a loop inside the box? To make players think that the map is very open?"

In general, open world games often have strange settings at the boundaries in order to allow players to play within a restricted range.

For example, the classic "The area ahead, come explore it later."

If you walk out of range, you will be killed directly by nearby armed forces.

Or swim to your limit and be swallowed by a shark.

What’s more thoughtful is that after you leave the boundary, you will directly enter an ending.

The way of handling boundaries in "Cangxia Wendao" can be considered to be unique!

Zheng He wandered around for a long time but still couldn't find a way to leave the woods, so he simply chose a higher place, climbed to the top of the tree, and looked around.

Lush ancient forests and green mountains in the distance.

There was a faint sound of rushing water coming from the distance.

But, it doesn't seem to be a boundary.

"That's right. Since it's an open world, the beginner map should be placed in the middle. There should be deep exploration areas in all directions."

Zheng He decided to return to the mountain gate.

Although there is no map, he has the light pillars where the players appear as signposts.

But after a while, Zheng He looked at the rift in front of him and finally realized a problem.

That means he is really lost!

Even though pillars of light served as guideposts, they had almost disappeared as players arrived one after another. After all, there were only 100 spots available for the closed beta test. And finding an accurate direction in the undulating woodlands was much more difficult than one might imagine!

It’s over…

Zheng He wanted to use the sun as a signpost, but found that even with the sun as a reference, he still didn't know where the mountain gate was.

I wanted to use the tree rings to tell the directions, but even if I could tell the four directions, I still wouldn't know where to go.
