Chapter 107 Clues
During the half day that Tong Wanwan was missing, Tracy had been "staying" in the pet shop, watching over the two restless kittens.
However, he did not do nothing.
The private agent sent out unexpectedly found something very strange.
After Elvis found the girl, Tracy finally felt relieved. The next day, he went back home under the cover of night.
When he returned to the main house, not only the private agent but also the butler was waiting.
"Uncle Karel, why don't you go to bed so late?" It was drizzling outside, and Tracy came back with misty water droplets on the ends of her hair.
"Master, don't you have an umbrella with you today?" Butler Karel didn't answer his question. The glasses on his cheekbones flashed. "I've prepared hot water. Master Tracy, please go take a shower first."
Tracy rolled her Adam's apple, and the faint smile on her lips suddenly became a little stiff.
Calling him "Master Tracy" directly, is Uncle Karel... angry?
However, he was no longer the frail young master he once was. Even if he stood in the rain for days and nights without sleep, nothing would happen to him.
Although she thought so, in reality, Tracy nodded and said helplessly, "I understand, Karel."
His housekeeper was very special. He didn't like his honorific "Uncle Karel" but preferred to be called by his name.
It was as if he always knew that when Carell called out "Master Tracy", that was when Carell was angry.
After hearing Tracy's compromising response, Butler Karel's mood improved and he went into the kitchen to prepare food for him.
When Karel returned to the main hall with the prepared snacks and milk, Tracy had already changed her clothes and was chatting with the agent.
"The kidnapper died in the guard area?"
"Yes, the cause of death was sudden brain death," the detective said. "No evidence of foul play was found."
Tracy took the cup handed to her by Butler Karel, rubbed the rim of the cup, and fell into deep thought. "In other words, he was caught that day and died unexpectedly the next day?"
"That's right." The reason why the agent was able to become a private detective under the Kylo family was because his sources of intelligence were very wide and he could even find out about military bases.
"You said before that what were the suspicious points you found?" Tracy lowered her eyes and took a sip before she reacted.
In his hand was a cup of hot milk.
Butler Karel stood behind him with a subtle smile on his face.
"His motive for committing the crime," the private agent explained, sitting up straight. "I hacked into his account and found out that the kidnapper had been following Miss Tong Wanwan on the Star Network live streaming platform for a long time, and he watched the replays at a very fixed time - every night at 8 o'clock, which is... the time when he finishes work and returns home to rest."
"He had a decent job, a decent salary, and savings. He even spent some of it on an alien trip earlier this year," the private agent said, perplexed. "His parents are still alive, his life is going well, he has no financial worries, he has his own consistent hobbies, and he doesn't show any signs of antisocial personality disorder. And yet, this adult suddenly quit his job a few weeks ago and began meticulously planning a kidnapping, risking everything..."
"Is his motive for committing the crime really just because he 'liked' the child anchor, or was it a desire to make a lot of money? I can't empathize with him."
The more obvious and superficial the motive, the less credible it is.
Of course, the autopsy report after the kidnapper's death was clearly laid out, so there was no way to confront any doubts.
"?!" After listening to the agent's long speech, Tracy suddenly stood up from the sofa.
Some liquid spilled from the cup in my hand onto my fingers, but I was in no mood to pay attention.
"You just said, what did he do at the beginning of the year?" Tracy's eyes sank.
The agent was stunned for a moment and said, "I went on a week-long trip to an alien planet." This incident was just mentioned casually to illustrate that the kidnappers had quite a lot of savings.
Going on a trip...is there anything suspicious?
"Which planet did he go to?" Tracy asked.
"Wait a minute, let me check." The agent immediately pulled out his personal computer, decrypted his encrypted investigation files, and searched back through the timeline. "January... I found it! It's TRA, the Travel Star, which was selected as one of the top ten tourist destinations."
TRA Planet, a beautiful and popular tourist attraction.
Tracy slowly withdrew the emotion that was visible on her face.
He had been to this planet before. It was well protected by the TRA people and was indeed worthy of the title of being one of the top three tourist destinations.
It's not C44, nor is it M32, but a... very normal planet.
Is he worrying too much?
But... when she heard the word "alien planet", the uneasy palpitation that flashed through her mind still made Tracy unable to calm down.
Thinking of Eli and his group who were still in M32 and could not be contacted, Tracy frowned and remained silent for a long time.
He hadn't touched the snacks that Butler Karel had placed on the coffee table.
Suddenly, Tracy looked up and asked, "Can we find out his entire itinerary at the TRA, where he's been, what he's been exposed to, and... who he's run into?"
After hearing this, the detective froze in his tracks. Although he felt puzzled, his professional ethics as a private investigator prevented him from questioning his boss.
"It's a little difficult in a short time. I need a few days."
Tracy nodded: "Okay."
After the agent left, Karel, who had been standing by, walked forward and handed Tracy a small towel moistened with water.
"What's wrong?"
"There's spilled milk on your fingers," sighed the butler. "Wipe it off, young master."
"...I understand. Thank you." Tracy took the handkerchief. Uncle Karel had been with him longer than his parents, and sometimes, even more like a family member than his parents.
"And this," Karel silently picked up the dessert plate on the table and handed it directly to the long-haired young man, "After you wipe your hands, have some."
Tracy paused, lowered her eyelids, and shifted her gaze to the dinner plate.
Inside was the cheese tart that he had never gotten tired of eating since he was a child.
This dessert was a popular but hard-to-find dessert at a handmade cake shop when he was eight or nine years old. He craved it as a child, but the cake shop only allowed limited purchases.
In the end, he could only pester Karel to learn how to cook it for him.
The cheese tart has a sweet and crispy crust and a runny cheese tart filling inside. Just by looking at it, you can imagine how delicious it will be when you eat it.
Although, he ate more delicious and different snacks in Tong Wanwan's pet shop.
But… every time she saw the cheese tart, Tracy couldn’t refuse it.
