Chapter 28 Childhood Friends
Late at night two days later.
The pet activity room was pitch black. In order to transform back into human form and discuss matters more secretly, Elvis and Eli did not turn on the lights.
"How is your mental state?" Elvis took the initiative to inquire.
Eli was very attentive to the Marshal's orders and would sense his spiritual sea whenever he had time. Unexpectedly, this investigation actually led Eli to discover a problem.
"Marshal Ives," he said seriously after gathering his thoughts, "I've discovered that my mental strength is recovering very quickly! It used to take me half a month to recover, but now it's almost fully healed."
In the darkness, the silver-haired man slightly tightened his jawline.
As expected, Tong Wanwan did have the unique ability to heal her spiritual sea. Perhaps even she herself was unaware of it.
After a moment of silence, Elvis met Eli's eyes accurately in the dark room and asked him, "What do you think is the reason?"
Eli frowned as he recalled what had happened in the past two days. After hesitating for a moment, he finally answered, "I think..."
Did you find out? Ives wondered.
Eli: "I think the food Miss Wanwan makes has a strong healing power!"
Elvis: “…”
For the first time in his life, the brave and warlike federal marshal felt speechless.
Without Elvis's denial or explanation, Eli didn't know if his guess was right. His idea was simple: perhaps Tong Wanwan used precious, animal-friendly ingredients in her pet meals, and this kind of food could help orcs recover their mental strength.
But...looking at Marshal Elvis's reaction, could his guess be wrong?
Eli was really confused. Seeing that the Marshal had turned back into a lion cub and closed his eyes to rest, he tiptoed to the other side and turned on the computer.
In just two days, a lot of information has been accumulated.
He first secretly submitted a work report on Marshal Ives to the relevant superior departments, and then responded to important matters related to the Third Legion. After resolving the work matters, he turned his attention to the other information received by the optical computer.
Among Eli's pinned contacts, several new messages popped up, all from his childhood friend Tracy.
Tracy is the only son of the current head of the Kylo family and an admired nobleman. Eli was born into the Ricardo family, a military family that has been loyal to the federal government for generations and also has a prominent status.
Because the two families have a long-standing relationship, Eli studied and played with Tracy since childhood, and they were admitted to the most prestigious and oldest federal military academy together.
However, the two people's development directions and paths forward are completely different.
Eli was born into a military family and was influenced by it since childhood. It has always been his dream to become a powerful and respected federal hero like Marshal Ives.
As a noblewoman, Tracy is proficient in communication and management, knowledgeable, gentle and approachable. She is the perfect candidate to inherit the Kylo family and serve as an important employee of the federal government.
Although the two are very good friends and rarely see each other, they will try their best to make time to visit each other's homes to get together and keep in touch.
For fear of disturbing Marshal Elvis who was resting, Eli did not turn on the video projection, but glanced at the few messages that had been converted into text.
"Tracy: Eli, I heard that you led the Third Legion back to Federal City a few days ago. How is the battle going?"
"Tracy: How long can I rest this time? Two months? My father often nags me, asking when you can come over for dinner and practice martial arts with him."
Seeing this, Eli couldn't help but smile.
"Tracy: I went to your house and my aunt told me that you were away for a while. Why?"
Seeing the last message, Eli was about to reply to him, saying that he was recently carrying out a secret mission ordered by his superiors, but suddenly it occurred to him: the fewer people who knew about this mission, the better.
Eli licked his lips, hesitated for a moment, and decided to keep it a secret from his friend.
"Tracy, I'm on vacation right now. I'll contact you when I have time!"
It was a rare lie, but Eli felt that this sentence was correct.
He and Marshal Elvis stayed here, eating and drinking for free. Their daily life consisted of eating, sunbathing, dozing off, sleeping, and the most irresistible hair-stroking service. What else could this be but a vacation?
Thinking of this, Eli turned into a chinchilla without any psychological burden, rolled around twice comfortably on his blue sleeping mat, and kicked his little feet.
After a few minutes, he fell asleep.
The next day, after breakfast, Tong Wanwan took her two cute pets and curled up on the sofa to browse the Star Network.
Suddenly, her light brain flashed and emitted a familiar mechanical sound.
"Master, someone is visiting. Would you like to turn on the 3D video projection?"
There are guests coming early in the morning?
……wrong.
Tong Wanwan was a little confused. How could her store's offline address, which she had just officially released on Star Network a few minutes ago, have business so soon?
If it’s not a guest, then who could it be?
"Open."
"Received. Video projection will be turned on shortly."
The next second, the image of the gate appeared in mid-air in a translucent form.
Eli:…”
There's real-time surveillance at the gate?! No wonder he was easily spotted when he first arrived.
He followed Tong Wanwan and looked up at the projected three-dimensional image.
“!”
Standing on the floor at the door was a long-tailed tit that looked noble and beautiful.
The long-tailed tit is very small and easily overlooked, but its wings and tail feathers are a beautiful reddish-brown fading to white. The little guy seems very polite. After pecking the visit button, he raised his little head and looked at the gate without blinking.
Eli was stunned: Isn't this his good friend Tracy? Why is she at the door?
Although small, Teresi's beast form was incredibly beautiful, and everyone who saw it privately was amazed. Even Eli had secretly envied her.
He recalled the excuse he had given to his best friend yesterday - "I was on vacation." Given Tracy's personality, she would definitely find this reason through the light brain positioning.
Eli wanted to cry but had no tears, and didn't even dare to look back at Elvis.
And the other side.
The quiet and well-behaved long-tailed tit, also known as Tracy, was indeed found based on the location.
Tracy didn't know that Eli was on a mission. He was just curious about what kind of vacation destination it was that would make Eli not even return home.
Unexpectedly, it was just a pet shop.
Tracy raised her head and looked at the three-story villa with an open-air balcony on the roof, which was disguised as a pet shop.
He didn't act like Eli, foolishly pressing the pager and looking for a place to hide. Instead, he stood at the door calmly, waiting for the villa owner to open the door for him...
