Chapter 53: Deployment of Support
"Your Excellency, Marshal!"
The adjutant hurriedly opened the spaceship lounge and relayed the urgent federal order to Elvis.
"Deputy Commander Dean is using a dual-trace signal generator. Look."
Elvis frowned, stood up, and walked towards him, quickly scanning the information on the computer. Just twenty minutes ago, the federal government, which was in contact with the special operations team, received a short message from Dean via the signal generator.
C44, a hidden Zerg base; Sictes, a fallen parasitic town; Fay, a defector colluding with the Zerg...
Everything that happened confirmed the ominous perception that Elvis and Dean had before they set out.
"Marshal Ives," the adjutant asked worriedly, "Is Lord Dean in trouble? Can we get to his rescue in time?"
"Yes." Ives pressed his military cap down, confident in Dean's abilities. He said calmly, "Notify everyone to check the weapons reserves. Once you arrive at Planet C44, be sure to remain vigilant and try to rendezvous with the action team led by Dean as soon as possible."
"Got it!" The adjutant saluted with a solemn expression, and left in a hurry as he had come in, going to the rest room of the legion members to give orders.
C44……
Ivis pursed his lips, cast his gaze at the vast scenery outside the spaceship, and fell into deep thought.
He had a premonition that the conspiracies, attempts and riots involving Fay would only increase.
As a precaution, Ives and his companions did not land their spacecraft at the C44 planetary landing port, but instead chose a remote and uninhabited forest. After arriving, they quickly headed to the city of Hictes according to the location provided by Dean.
An hour has passed since the action team last sent a message.
It was still dark.
Like an abyss with no end.
With a clear target and specific location, the First Legion led by Ives drove their aircraft at an extremely fast speed, advancing all the way. Once outside the city, everyone tacitly put away their aircraft, armed themselves, and hid in the darkness.
"Marshal Ives, the city of Sictes is ahead." The legionnaire wearing night vision reconnaissance glasses whispered.
"Always pay attention to the movement, go."
The central town was dark, as if painted with black paint, and it was so dull and suffocating.
Suddenly, the soldier in front raised his palm and made a stop gesture, silently reminding people that there was someone ahead!
In order not to disturb the parasites, they did not turn on the light sources they carried with them. Instead, they used their superior night vision to maintain formation, closely followed their companions, and quietly approached the town entrance.
As they approached, the Legion soldiers finally caught sight of the residents lingering at the entrance, guarding their "territory." Even with their foresight, they were still horrified. These "people" guarding the entrance were clearly the pitiful natives, their minds corrupted by the Tarri, their minds completely distorted, completely controlled, and assimilated into the Zerg.
Elvis lowered his eyes.
Whenever and wherever he saw the sinful Zerg committing atrocities against other races, he would feel a growing rage in his heart. This rage made him hate his enemies even more and made him more clear about what he should do.
The First Legion, personally trained by Ives, was no less powerful, strategic, or courageous than any other force in the Federation. Furthermore, the First Legion was the oldest of the Federation's legions, possessing the highest qualifications and the best coordination among its members.
They are sharp blades in the shadows, their sharp eyes able to cut through the night sky.
Before ambushing the parasites, the legion dispersed slightly, each selecting their own targets, silently moving around behind them and dispatching them with silenced rifles. From the start of the ambush to the end of the raid, it took less than ten seconds.
only……
There are definitely more than just a few parasites that can trap the action team.
"Reorganize the formation and search inside." Elvis led the other members and sneaked into the city.
It was a dark night, but even so, it was still possible to clearly see what was happening in the town. At this moment, the city of Sictes had undergone a complete transformation compared to the image data that Ivis had first found.
Casualties can be seen everywhere, and the streets are swept by bullets... It can be seen that Dean and his team have experienced a very fierce battle.
From outside the city to the city center, the number of parasites is gradually increasing.
"Lord Ives, something's happening!"
Some soldiers discovered a dark blockade ahead. Compared with the few parasites outside the city, the enemies here were as numerous as hornets in a hive, so densely packed that it was frightening to see.
"That's... Deputy Commander Dean?!" The adjutant's eyes suddenly lit up and he exclaimed involuntarily.
If you look closely, you will find that not all of the groups of "people" are alive.
More are the pathetic, numb parasites who fell at the hands of the special operations team.
A flash of understanding flashed in Elvis's eyes. Judging from the situation, Dean's team had been fighting for over an hour. Even if they didn't come to reinforce, the action team would eventually eliminate all the enemies in Xictes City.
"Turn on the lights and attract the enemies!" Elvis ordered.
Seeing the arrival of the support team, Dean and others secretly breathed a sigh of relief. While fighting, they slowly withdrew from the attack range of the parasitic group and took a short rest.
Fortunately, because of the advance preparation, when Dean's lightly equipped reconnaissance team was attacked and trapped, another logistics team quickly entered the city with weapons reserves and joined the reconnaissance team, so that they did not lose their composure in this sudden battle.
Half of the parasites in the city had been eliminated, and the rest were scattered in the rapid support offensive of Elvis and others.
Half an hour later, there were no more living parasites anywhere in sight. Only piles of corpses remained, silently disappearing into the darkness.
"Dean, report the casualties of the action team." Ivis walked to the side of the black-haired deputy commander.
Dean put the blaster back into the holster on his waist. "No one died. There were five injured. They are receiving temporary treatment."
"Thank you for your hard work," Elvis said. He and Dean were good friends who had worked together for many years and had fought side by side countless times. There was no need to say anything extra; the other person would understand.
The black-haired deputy commander nodded in greeting, then turned sideways and looked towards the other road, as if thinking about something.
"Is this the direction Fayi left?" Elvis reacted quickly and asked in a deep voice.
"Well," Dean's usually calm and deep blue eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of ice, and they were chilling. "There were too many parasites that suddenly appeared, and I couldn't keep up."
He continued, "It's very likely that Faye has already left this planet."
Elvis's gaze followed Dean's and headed towards the deserted street.
"Continue the search." The silver-haired marshal's eyes were mysterious.
"There are always other clues."
There is another chapter to return to daily life ovo
