Chapter 55 I'm Back
After sending the residents of Sictes back to the federal rescue area, Elvis did not stay any longer and immediately took his private aircraft back to the suburbs outside the federal central city, near Tong Wanwan's pet shop.
After transforming back into the second form of the white lion cub, Elvis stopped at the door hesitantly.
This was his longest outing yet, and he felt a strange sense of homesickness.
This feeling is like how even the most eloquent and cynical person can lose their composure in front of the person they like. The more you care about someone, the more easily they are drawn into countless thoughts and considerations, and become daunted.
only……
The little lion unconsciously clenched his paws, and without hesitation, he jumped up and pressed the access sensor.
The Marshal felt subtly unhappy when he thought of Eli, Tracy, and the two kittens who openly or secretly liked to stick to Tong Wanwan at home with her for a whole day and night.
I thought I would have to wait for a while, but not long after, the door of the villa was opened from the inside.
Elvis met Tong Wanwan's smiling eyes.
As bright as the stars.
"Cancan, welcome home!" The girl's eyes softened and she opened her arms to him.
The little white lion was a little dazed and stayed in a daze for a long time before he jumped into her arms and let out a very light and gentle "wool".
It seems to be saying: I'm back.
Of course, it would be even better if he is the only pet in the house.
As soon as he got home, Elvis saw the fat, animal-like chinchilla lying on the sofa, with its back against a pillow, holding a piece of beef jerky snack and chewing it while watching TV.
The two cats chased the smart fur ball toys all over the house. While playing, they slipped into the kitchen tacitly.
The quietest long-tailed tit was sitting on its own little chair, pecking the e-book reader on the table with its sharp beak from time to time, and was so engrossed in reading that it was almost lost in thought.
Having just returned from the battlefield, it was as if the marshal had traveled to a strange children's channel: "..."
This group of people are becoming more and more wanton.
He doesn't care at all about these actions that are increasingly exposing his identity.
Seeing the little white lion being carried back by Tong Wanwan, the little mouse suddenly stopped, finished the snack in his hand in a few bites, jumped off the sofa, rushed to the girl's feet, and looked at Elvis.
"Coo!" Eli subconsciously saluted with his paws, his eyes shining. It seemed as if he was saying - Welcome back, Marshal!
Elvis: “…”
He was too lazy to speak out to stop this major general who always acted like an animal and acted stupid.
As usual, Tracy flew over her friend's head, and gave a familiar "Chiu" to the little white lion, sincerely welcoming Elvis home.
Even the Savannah cat and the British Shorthair came dazedly out of the kitchen, meowing softly in greeting. Yesterday, Eli had called the two children over to chat. Knowing that the white lion was the little mouse's boss, they knew they had to be more respectful and polite to him. Seeing the boss back, they forgot even to steal food.
In a few seconds, they gathered together again. Tong Wanwan hugged him and used her free hand to rub the other pets one by one.
"Ku Ku, Toffee, why are you guys stealing food again? What's it this time?" She leaned in to glance at the food crumbs stuck to the cat's whiskers. "Is it dried fish today?"
Discovered! The two cats pretended to be guilty and lowered their heads, meowing softly.
"Puff," the girl laughed, but didn't indulge her any further. "Don't eat too many snacks. I will strictly supervise you from now on."
After saying that, she glanced at the leisurely little mouse, who seemed to be able to stay out of the matter, and ruthlessly pointed out: "Yuanyuan, you too, can't eat so much every day just because your name is Yuanyuan."
Eli: “?!”
The pet shop started to become noisy again: the cats meowing and pretending to be pitiful, the rats with their fur standing on end, the sparrows watching the show quietly, and Wanwan with a smile on her face.
It felt more like a home than any manor house he had ever stayed in.
For a moment, Elvis felt in a good mood.
…
Tong Wanwan discovered that since Cancan came home, he has become more clingy than before.
She wants to watch while she cooks, accompany her during naps, and follow her during evening walks. Even when it is time to go to bed at night, this spoiled little one stays in her room and refuses to leave.
"Can--Can--" Tong Wanwan dragged out the sound, helplessly calling out the little white lion's nickname. The girl's soft and tender voice, entangled between her lips and teeth, would inevitably soften anyone who heard it.
"Yuanyuan, Mengmeng, KuKu, and Naitang have all gone to bed. It's time for you to go back too." She paused, then added patiently, "Go back to your room, dear."
However, the little guy, who was usually incredibly smart, pretended not to understand and looked at her naturally and calmly.
He looked quite content and swung his tail behind him.
She didn't know whether to laugh or cry: "Cancan!"
After several minutes of stalemate, the little white lion finally lost the upper hand and took the lead, looking away uncomfortably. As if in compromise, it lowered its two small round white ears, reluctantly stood up, jumped off its bed, and then... just moved a few steps to the side and slept in the corner.
He curled up into a ball with a feeling of grievance and didn't move anymore.
Tong Wanwan: “?”
She thought, this little guy is really good at pretending to be miserable, isn't he?
I just wanted it to go back to sleep, but it was so reluctant to leave.
After a moment, Tong Wanwan sighed helplessly, then gently picked it up from the cold floor and placed it back on the bed. Then, Elvis felt a sinking sensation beside him; the girl lay down.
When he opened his eyes, he happened to see her face which was very close to him.
"We can sleep together only tonight."
The girl was a little sleepy. She blinked her dark, clear, yet hazy eyes, which seemed to be covered with a layer of mist. She pressed her fair face against its little head, nuzzling it affectionately, and gave it a gentle goodnight kiss. "Goodnight, Cancan."
"Awoo." The little white lion responded obediently, with a hint of satisfaction in his voice.
At night, sleeping in the same bed with a girl who was very special to him, he thought it would make him feel complicated and difficult to fall asleep, but... gazing at Tong Wanwan's sleeping face as she gradually fell asleep, Elvis only felt at ease.
As he watched, even the Marshal himself began to feel sleepy.
Finally, the little white lion slowly and quietly placed a kiss on her soft lips.
The movement was very light, as light as the barely perceptible breeze outside the window.
Before closing his eyes, Elvis said silently in his heart.
good evening.
My moon.
