Preface: This chapter is the author's ramblings and rants, please be careful
As a new author, I have finally written a million words in my new book. It feels amazing. It is like climbing a steep and high mountain. When you stand at the foot of the mountain and look at it, you will feel scared and then retreat. But you muster up the courage to take a step forward, take a step up the mountain, and then take another step. As you walk, you suddenly find that you have climbed so high. It is this amazing feeling.
How did this book begin? An idea popped up in my mind. It would be interesting to write a story about love in the world of immortal cultivation. Let the cultivators who moved mountains and filled seas and changed their fate have an ordinary and plain love story, and let ordinary cultivators have an ordinary love story and survive in the world of immortal cultivation. Then I wrote an introduction and showed it to the editor in charge. The editor in charge said that it was a bit exciting, so I started writing.
So this book first had an idea, and then slowly added things to this idea: ordinary relationships between men and women are boring, some taboos and ethics must be added into it, they can be senior brothers and junior sisters, but it is not necessary, master and apprentice are obviously more interesting; the male and female protagonists can be casual and plain, but it is not flavorful enough, what the world of immortal cultivation has to have is still there, there must be geniuses, there must be mediocre people, there must be classic sect competitions, there must be the dark law of the jungle, there must be dangerous murders and treasure hunts, the male and female protagonists can live a peaceful life, but all the major events that the world of immortal cultivation has to be there; the male and female protagonists need to interact with each other, so there is a mature and steady black-bellied master and a carefree genius fool.
Yes, I added to the book as I wrote it. I added whatever I thought was interesting and whatever I thought could be added. In the end, it became what it is now.
Most of the plots were enjoyable to read, but some were uncomfortable. Especially the sword-making part. It is estimated that the plot caused a third of the readers to lose. Here are some thoughts about the plots.
There are things to say about the sword-making section, and there are things I can’t say. What I can’t say is that when I look back at that plot, I also feel that it’s a bit too sanctimonious and the plot is a bit rough. What I can say, or I can make excuses for, is that when I first started writing this book, I didn’t think that many people would read it. I thought that only one friend and one or two new friends would read it. I didn’t think that more than ten people would read this book, so I wrote it quite casually. I wrote whatever I thought was interesting, regardless of whether the plot was reasonable or not. A middle school loli snake, interesting, then don’t kill it, the protagonist will kill it, but the author said, no, you don’t want to kill it. Camping, interesting, let the brother-in-law see the misunderstanding, interesting, then don’t think too much, just write it hard, the protagonist said I’m not that kind of person, the author said, no, you are. The heroine shouted "Starlight, flash them", playing a meme, interesting, sanctimonious and so on, what is that? The author didn’t think that much.
Another thing I can say is that (serious expression), this plot is called "Sword Forging", forging the sword in the hand and the sword in the heart for the heroine. The sword in the hand is the natal sword, a tangible sword; the sword in the heart is to let her learn the way of survival in the cultivation world, an invisible sword. This is a 15 or 16-year-old, pampered young lady. It takes a process to make her become a sword fairy with sword spirit. Convert it, what do modern girls of 15 or 16 years old do? They are in the third year of junior high school and the first year of high school, studying. It is not easy to let them hold a sword to kill people.
In addition to this, there are many people who scold the heroine for being stupid and idiotic, and for asking the hero to teach her everything. To this, what I want to say is, if the heroine is scheming, cunning, smart, calm, and decisive from the beginning, what is the hero for?
Some people also criticized the male protagonist for being insidious, vulgar, and afraid of heights, which is a bit... whether it's safe or safe, it's a joke about Li Changshou, and the fear of heights is a joke about Song Shuhang. I thought it was fun, so I added it, but readers said it was a poisonous point seriously, so I don't know what to say. In fact, except for the point of vulgarity, which I wrote seriously, the point of fear of heights is purely fun and has no impact on the plot.
There are also people who scold the male protagonist for being a bootlicker and the female protagonist for being a saint. There is a place where the comments are all filled with this kind of comments, which makes me sad. Starting from the character of Qin Ran, I set up his personality. He may never think that he will be scolded as a bootlicker in his life... What I can say is that, whether it is this book or my personal experience in dealing with the world, never look at what a person does on the surface. Don't listen to what a person says, look at what he does and what his purpose is. Qin Ran was like this. He was nice to Li Shiyin at the beginning, and it was obvious that his motives were not pure. If, if Li Shiyin didn't
It's this kind of silly character. I have also hinted at what it would be like if Tian Wenjin became Qin Ran's disciple... Qin Ran never frowned when he killed people.
There are also some that use the worldviews of other worlds...like there is Qi training before building the foundation, there are spiritual movements and fasting after building the foundation, there are things like He Dao and Fan Xu, or what the original status of alchemists is in the world of cultivation, what a qualified sect master, head of a sect, parents, etc. are like, or other things.
Of course, besides those who criticized it, there were more people who liked this book. This surprised me. It is a pleasant surprise and an honor to have people like what I wrote.
Some said the plot logic was good, some said the rhythm was comfortable, some said the story was light and soothing, some liked the sweetness... In short, you guys are really great and can always find the good points in this story. You guys are really... I'm crying!
Actually, I know that it is not well written, the writing is immature, and the plot is crude. It is your strong tolerance and excellent reading comprehension ability that found some points to read and some advantages for it, and then I continued reading. I am very touched.
In particular, after reading some readers' comments, I felt that they could be regarded as bosom friends and teachers. He said that the story had a good rhythm, being plain when it should be plain, and compact when it should be compact; he said that the core of the story was good, and it described the ordinary people and ordinary cultivators under the background of the times and natural disasters and man-made disasters; he said that the characters were well-shaped, with the competition between the geniuses and the struggles of ordinary cultivators in the world of cultivation; he said that it described the true mentality of the time travelers; he said that it described what should be done after the time travel, etc. There are many very attentive and good friends.
How should I put it? I blush a little. Because I really wanted to write what you said, but due to my poor writing skills, lack of ideological level and life experience, these things were not written clearly. In other words, I was just thinking about writing this way and working towards this direction, and only wrote some vague things. Your eyes have already seen my little thoughts.
The above are some of the author's responses to everyone's comments on this book. In fact, whether it is good or bad, praise or criticism, I have quietly read them all. Except for those who curse for no reason and purely vent their emotions, most of the criticisms, although I am very unhappy, I actually know that is the problem of this book. So I still thank them. Without them (they, because they probably can't see this) pointing out, I would not know those problems. Just like I never expected that someone like me would write a saintly heroine.
Then you need to pay attention to the fact that this is not a book about fighting monsters and leveling up, it is not about walking through the unfolded map, it is not about letting the hero and heroine reach the top of the world. Many friends have said that this is a romance book. When will a romance book end? When the hero and heroine get married. So... you know.
Finally, I am very happy that someone reads this book. I hope you will be happy when reading the novel and in life. There is no doubt that I will study hard to make your reading experience positive.
Love you guys! Happy New Year to you guys!!
