Chapter 98 Er Ya Fights

Today, Chen Kai and his group are going to the county town to buy grain and distribute wooden signs.

The wooden plaques are coupons for the Chen Family Sports Meet. From now until the day before the event, the Chen Family will distribute one hundred wooden plaques, visit wealthy families, and promote the event. Anyone who receives a plaque can come to the Chen Family home on the day of the event to receive a free serving of iced juice and chilled fruit.

Upon arriving in the county, Er Ya jumped off the bus and looked around.

Chen Laosi grabbed Er Ya and said, "Don't run around. After we buy the grain, come with us to get the wooden plaques."

Seeing Er Ya looking at him pitifully, Chen Laosi softened and said, "Alright, after we buy the grain, I'll have Lao Wu accompany you for a stroll."

On the way to the grain shop, when they passed one of their cold drink stalls, Er Ya saw a storyteller not far away and immediately ran over to join in the fun.

She especially enjoyed listening to storytellers.

Chen Laosi chased after her, dragged Er Ya to the stall, and gave her a severe beating.

Seeing his sister's longing gaze, Chen Nong pleaded, "Fourth Uncle, Er Ya just wants to go see the excitement, so let her go. I'll go with her. You go buy the grain first, and I'll take her to you later."

Er Ya kept shouting, "I want to go listen to storytelling! I want to go listen to storytelling!"

Chen Laosi said helplessly, "Alright, then be careful and don't wander off."

After receiving permission, Er Ya and Chen Nong each took an ice pop and happily ran off to listen to the storyteller.

The storyteller was performing his story at the entrance of a teahouse, which was surrounded by a large crowd, attracting many people to go inside and drink tea.

Seeing so many people, Er Ya handed her popsicle to Chen Nong, then tried to squeeze through a gap. But she was too small to fit in. A tall, elderly woman casually swung her arm, and Er Ya was thrown out, landing on her bottom.

Er Ya tried several more times but couldn't squeeze in, so she wandered around the crowd. Seeing a group of children in a corner, Er Ya said happily, "Second Brother, let's go over there."

Er Ya ran over excitedly and shouted, "Get out of my way! Or I'll get my fourth uncle to beat you up!"

A few children on the periphery turned to look at her, but seeing that there were no adults around, they ignored her.

Er Ya got angry because they dared not give way to her. She rushed over and knocked down two boys who were about her age.

The two boys who were hit burst into tears on the spot. When a boy next to them saw his younger brother crying, he immediately pushed Er Ya hard.

Er Ya staggered back a few steps, and once she regained her balance, she angrily shouted, "Who pushed me? I'll teach you a lesson!"

After Er Ya finished speaking, she angrily rammed into the boy, knocking him to the ground. Then, Er Ya straddled him and slapped him several times, saying as she hit him, "Let's see if you dare to push me again!"

The boy was stunned. He had never fought with a girl before and never expected her to fight so fiercely.

"Waaaaah..."

"Waaaaah... Don't hit my brother anymore... Don't hit him anymore." The boy who was knocked down saw his brother being hit and crying, and he cried even louder.

The surrounding children saw how fiercely the girl was fighting, but none of them dared to step in and break it up.

Chen Nong pulled Er Ya away and said, "Er Ya, stop fighting. Fighting with them is a waste of time. Aren't we supposed to listen to the storyteller? Stop fooling around."

The children around him swallowed hard when they saw Chen Nong holding two popsicles, and some even drooled.

Er Ya was still angry, so she kicked the boy and said, "I won't hit you, but you'd better apologize to me right now!"

The boy said, "I'm sorry, I was wrong!" This girl is too fierce; she'll never be able to get married.

Chen Nong looked at the boy and thought he was quite sensible.

If Chen Nong knew what the boy was thinking, he would definitely let it go. After all, his fourth uncle and his family had quite a few helpers in the county, and his family also had a stall in the county town.

Seeing that Er Ya was about to yell and curse again, Chen Nong quickly tugged at her sleeve and whispered, "Er Ya, stop it."

Chen Nong glanced around at the children and, seeing them staring intently at the popsicle in his hand, asked with a smile, "Want a popsicle?"

The little children excitedly exclaimed, "Yes!"

Chen Nong laughed and said, "If you want them, give us two seats, and we'll exchange one seat for an ice pop."

The little ones were even more excited and rushed to switch seats.

"You can switch places with me, but you can stand here!"

"Trade with me! Trade with me!"

Chen Nong and Er Ya chose two seats near the front. Although they were still far from the storyteller, at least they could hear what he was saying clearly.

Afterwards, Chen Nong returned to his stall and brought back a few popsicles. Apart from the ones he traded with others, the rest were for him and Er Ya to eat.

The storyteller was recounting the war in the south, saying that a certain general displayed great prowess, leading his soldiers to utterly defeat the enemy.

They praised the general to the skies, describing him as having a broad back, a thick waist, and three heads and six arms.

Er Ya and Chen Nong were extremely excited, clapping their little hands loudly.

After a while, Er Ya suddenly felt a stomachache and said, "Second Brother, I need to go to the toilet. Wait here for me for a while."

Chen Nong said, "Okay, then hurry back and don't wander off."

When Er Ya came out of the toilet, she saw two familiar figures, so she secretly followed them, intending to find an opportunity to teach them a lesson.

Bai Lian and Xiao Ju were happily strolling down the street, each holding two strings of candied hawthorns.

The two women were in a good mood, but many people didn't want them to have a good time.

Wherever they go, people curse them.

"Look, the vixen has come out!"

"Pah! You shameless vixen!"

"Everyone should keep a close eye on their men, lest they be seduced away by her."

"..."

The street was filled with curses. If Bai Lian hadn't had guards around her, someone would definitely have rushed up and beaten her.

Er Ya was overjoyed. This white fox spirit was now like a rat crossing the street, hated by everyone.

Bai Lian and Xiao Ju ignored the insults and continued to chat and laugh, eating and playing as usual.

As they walked, Bai Lian and her friends ran into someone they knew.

Bai Lian looked at the man and said with a smile, "Young Master Liu, it's been a while. What's wrong?"

Young Master Liu looked very dejected and had lost a lot of weight.

Young Master Liu walked over, grabbed Bai Lian's arm, and said excitedly, "You say what they said isn't true, it's all made up, isn't it!"

Bai Lian frowned, pried open Young Master Liu's hand, and said, "Young Master Liu, you're hurting me, let go quickly."
