Chapter 44 Assessment (Part 4): Meatball and Mushroom Soup
After the demonstration, Li Dalang casually picked up the pastry, feeling a little regretful, as it was indeed quite delicious.
While everyone was still discussing the scene from earlier, Li Sanniang called out loudly again: "Everyone, my eldest son will be fifteen next year. He grew so tall and strong, just like a grown man, because he took after my eldest brother."
Therefore, the method demonstrated by my second brother and eldest son is very suitable for treating adulthood.
"Didn't Li San Niangzi say before that she saved Qian's young master?"
If I remember correctly, the young man from the Qian family is not even five years old, right?
Is Li San Niangzi going to continue demonstrating how to treat young children?
A doctor with a somewhat dark complexion standing next to Dr. Sun Chengren asked a question directly.
"Yes, the Hai family technique is quite rigorous, divided into different methods for adults and children, but the basic principles are the same, only some details of the techniques are different."
Furthermore, there are also methods for self-rescue when no one else can help, which Third Sister will share with everyone.
"Oh, Li San Niangzi is so kind and righteous, I truly admire her."
Li San Niang smiled and returned the greeting, thinking to herself, "This doesn't seem like someone looking for trouble; it's just a normal question without any real threat."
Over the next hour, Li San Niang, together with Li Er Xiong and Li Si Lang, demonstrated the differences and key points between self-rescue and rescuing the child.
Among these thoughts, the desire to learn more likely prevailed, and several doctors present raised questions to Li San Niang, which took another half an hour to answer.
"Gentlemen, this method is simple and easy to learn. If you still have any questions, please discuss them with us after the meeting."
Here, Third Sister has something to say upfront!
Li San Niang first bowed to everyone before solemnly saying, "You are all doctors with many years of experience. You must have encountered situations that are beyond human control."
All the methods that San Niang wants to share with you are just methods, not magic pills that can cure all diseases!
Because she saved the young master of the Qian family and the daughter of the Duke of Liang, she was called Third Sister and by chance gained a little fame in Chang'an. But it was all due to Third Sister's good fortune in rescuing the young master and the daughter.
Listening to the meaning behind Li San Niang's words, Dr. Sun thought to himself, "This young lady isn't too stupid after all. She knows to make things clear beforehand. If someone uses this method and fails to save the person, the greater the praise today, the greater the infamy tomorrow!"
"Everyone, Third Sister is just an ordinary woman who obtained this method by chance. This method is not a magic method. Third Sister dares not and cannot say that this method will definitely work!"
It's just a suggestion; whether it works or not depends on the situation!
Here, San Niang hopes that if anyone encounters a dangerous situation in the future and is able to save someone, that would be a great act of merit!
If you encounter this situation but don't get the desired result, that's perfectly normal. I hope everyone won't blame me for not being able to save people, because I can't bear the responsibility for so many lives!
From now on, whatever you learn from me is your own skill; Third Sister won't take the blame for anyone.
After saying this, Li Sanniang bowed again before retreating.
Dr. Gao then came forward and repeated what Li San Niang wanted to say over and over again: "Everyone, it's noon. Let's all try Jun You Lai's new dishes. We'll demonstrate CPR again at 1-3 PM."
Li San Niang was busy all morning; her mouth never stopped. These doctors were more difficult to deal with than some patients' family members in modern times when they asked questions.
Fortunately, they were just genuinely interested in this method of saving lives and wanted to know more.
There were only two long tables in the room, not enough to seat everyone. Li San Niang's family and the six doctors from the three factions in the alliance were arranged to stay in the two rooms next door named Peony and Plum Blossom.
That's fine too. Li San Niang felt that it would be a real ordeal to eat in the same room as Doctor Sun, Doctor Qian, Doctor Gao, and Doctor Sun Chengren.
The lunch was delicious, and the four little ones and Li San Niang ate with great relish. In particular, the meatball and mushroom soup was so delicious that Li San Niang almost swallowed her tongue!
This is the first time Li San Niang has eaten mushrooms since she time-traveled!
After all, there was no such thing as aquaculture at that time. It was all done by villagers from nearby areas who would go to the mountains and forests to pick wild mushrooms and then bring them to Chang'an City to sell. The taste of wild mushrooms was absolutely amazing.
Now that I think about it, I can really understand why people in Yunnan still eat mushrooms every year even though they get poisoned from them – they're just so delicious!
"My little aunt was really something in that room just now!" Li Sanlang said to Li Sanniang while eating.
"Haha, that's right! Your auntie is the brightest star among all the stars!"
As Li Sanlang ate, he nodded and then turned to his second brother, Li Er, and said, "I only now realize how capable Father is. If I hadn't been at home watching Father and my eldest brother act this out so many times, I probably would have believed it to be real!"
"Hey, Saburo, you're usually so quiet, but you've become so sweet-talking after eating something delicious today."
You've praised your aunt, second uncle, and eldest brother, but why don't you praise Xiao Silang, who did so much work today?
Li Erlang, with his eight hundred schemes, was the best at stirring up trouble. Li Silang was eating with his mouth full of oil when he heard his name called, and he looked up blankly at his surroundings.
"Haha, Silang acted well today too." With that, Li Sanlang put a piece of meat into Li Silang's bowl.
Seeing that no one was looking for him, Li Silang happily continued eating his meat!
Seeing that his fire-making skills were not up to par, Li Erlang shook his head with a hint of disappointment and got up to get a bowl of meatball and mushroom soup. "My aunt has already had her second bowl. It must be because this soup is so delicious!"
Seeing that he was even teasing his elders, Li Erxiong was about to speak up, but Li Sanniang was faster: "Second brother, this soup is really delicious. Quick, serve a bowl to Father and Mother, or they won't be able to eat it later."
Li Erxiong ignored his nephew's teasing of his sister and quickly got up to serve soup to his parents. The cunning Li Erlang also sensed the flavor and naturally gave his bowl to his father first, saying, "Grandpa, you drink it. My aunt said it's delicious, so it must be delicious."
The lunch lasted almost an hour. In the middle, Manager Jin came to ask if it was to our liking and if we needed any more dishes. After we finished eating, he even brought us a pot of fine tea and six plates of pastries and candied fruits. He was very thoughtful.
Just as the group was about to try the snacks, Doctor Gao knocked on the door and came in. He praised Li San Niang for her excellent demonstration, saying it was much better than simply explaining. He told Li San Niang to rest on the couch for a while to recharge so she would have more energy to explain other methods later.
There were indeed three small single couches inside, presumably for any guests who were tired or had drunk too much to lie down and rest.
But how could Li San Niang enjoy it all by herself?
Seeing that there was still half an hour until the end of the 11 PM, he begged his parents to go to the couch with him so they could lie down and rest if they couldn't sleep.
Li Erxiong and the four little ones just sat on the chairs to rest. They didn't seem sleepy at all and looked quite energetic.
