Chapter Thirty-Nine: There aren't that many fools in the world.

Faced with Chu Qinghe's question, the Green Snake Gang disciple hesitated for a moment before whispering, "We investigated and thought you were just an honest man, someone we could just threaten after robbing you. Who would have thought..."

Although the words were not finished, the meaning was crystal clear.

Upon hearing this reason, Chu Qinghe couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Sure enough, honest people are always associated with being easy to bully, no matter where they are.

Having figured out the whole story, Chu Qinghe shook his head slightly and had no intention of asking any further questions.

He gently waved his right hand at the Green Snake Gang disciple.

The seemingly casual movements actually contained a subtle burst of energy.

Driven by the force of the energy, a small amount of powder also flew towards the Green Snake Gang disciple.

Throughout the entire process, the Green Snake Gang disciple did not notice anything amiss from Chu Qinghe's casual action.

But a few breaths later, the Green Snake Gang disciple's face quickly changed from pale to rosy, but his body stiffened again.

Immediately afterwards, the Green Snake Gang disciple's eyes bulged out, and his whole body convulsed violently for a few breaths before falling silent.

After turning his gaze away from the corpses of the Green Snake Gang disciples nearby, Chu Qinghe slowly stood up, his expression remaining largely unchanged.

Chu Qinghe was never a person with an overflowing sense of kindness.

A kind heart cannot command an army, and a righteous heart cannot manage finances.

If he didn't even understand this basic principle, Chu Qinghe in his previous life would have been devoured by those old foxes in the business world, leaving not even bones behind. How could he have grown bigger and stronger?

These few people dared to commit such a blatant robbery behind closed doors; their true nature is quite evident.

There is no bottom to human nature.

Once a mouth is opened, endless greed will follow.

If Chu Qinghe didn't have the strength, then facing today's events, getting beaten up would be the least of his worries; he would likely face endless harassment and exploitation from these people.

Perhaps this matter can only be considered closed when all of Chu Qinghe's assets have been squeezed dry and rendered worthless.

Evil has no bottom, and good has no end.

Sometimes, once something starts, it will eventually come to an end.

Well-intentioned speculation is too risky; when dealing with enemies, Chu Qinghe always prefers to think the worst.

Chu Qinghe possessed some kindness, but not much, and it depended on the situation.

However, although the people have been dealt with, the bodies still need to be disposed of.

Lifting a corpse with one hand, Chu Qinghe walked to the backyard of Li Dequan's shop, then used his light-footed skill to head straight out of the city.

After making two trips and carrying all four corpses to a small hill outside the city, Chu Qinghe suddenly raised his right foot and stomped it on the ground.

It entered the ground accompanied by a surge of internal force.

The next instant, it was as if a thunderbolt had exploded beneath the soil a meter away from Chu Qinghe, creating a crater.

After throwing the four corpses into the pit and covering them with soil, Chu Qinghe patted the ground a few times to tamp it down before finally turning back into the shop, satisfied.

When Chu Qinghe returned to the shop, he saw Li Dequan kneeling on the ground with his back to him and let out a soft exclamation.

"Manager Li, what's going on?"

The words were spoken, but when Chu Qinghe's voice, which should have been as gentle as the sun, reached Li Dequan's ears, Li Dequan's body stiffened.

But the next moment, Li Dequan, who had just felt a tightness in his chest, quickly relaxed again.

He then stood up and turned to Chu Qinghe.

In Chu Qinghe's view, Li Dequan was holding a piece of coarse cloth, which was stained with blood.

Where Li Dequan had just been hiding, there was a wooden basin.

The clear water inside had been stained with blood and filth, becoming murky and turbid.

The bloodstains left on the ground by the three Green Snake Gang disciples had clearly been wiped away, and there were still wet stains on the ground.

Seeing this, Chu Qinghe's eyes flickered slightly.

"Ha! Interesting!"

As Li Dequan turned to face Chu Qinghe, he bowed slightly and said cautiously, "This humble servant is helping you wipe the blood off the ground, young master."

Upon hearing this, Chu Qinghe looked at Manager Li with interest and said, "Seeing what I did just now, instead of running away, Manager Li is here wiping away the blood. Aren't you worried that I'll kill you to cover it up when I come back?"

Hearing Chu Qinghe's words, Manager Li shook his head and said, "If Young Master Chu had wanted to do anything to me before, I'm afraid I wouldn't be alive now."

In response, Chu Qinghe pointed to the coarse cloth in Li Dequan's hand and said, "So, Manager Li, is this a pledge of allegiance while trying to protect yourself?"

Li Dequan's thoughts are not hard to guess.

By choosing to help with these matters, one is essentially making oneself an accomplice.

This demonstrates that he will not inform the Green Snake Gang.

The purpose, of course, was also to express a stance to Chu Qinghe.

However, Li Dequan was taken aback by Chu Qinghe's words, clearly not expecting Chu Qinghe to have guessed his thoughts so quickly.

He then smiled wryly and said, "Young Master Chu has a very discerning mind; naturally, my thoughts cannot be hidden from you."

After a slight pause, Li Dequan sighed and said, "This time, it was my carelessness that allowed those few members of the Green Snake Gang to see the gold left behind by Young Master Chu."

"Then, unable to withstand the threats and beatings, he confessed about Young Master Chu's affairs, which led to Young Master Chu encountering the situation he is in today."

"If word gets out, I'm afraid I won't be able to keep this shop. But that's all I can do."

Hearing Li Dequan's words, Chu Qinghe smiled casually.

The fact that Li Dequan was able to open a shop all by himself and achieve his current reputation is enough to prove that although he is honest, he is not stupid.

Chu Qinghe was slightly surprised that Li Dequan was so decisive and intelligent in choosing this method.

If Chu Qinghe were in Li Dequan's position, he would have to admit that Li Dequan's actions were the most appropriate.

This is also why Chu Qinghe never underestimates anyone.

There aren't that many fools in the world.

Even the most inconspicuous person might, at any time, deliver the most unexpected blow, chilling you to the bone.

Then, Chu Qinghe said, "Since Manager Li has said so, let's leave it at that for today."

"However, next time, Manager Li may need to be more careful. After all, Manager Li is a businessman, and it's always better to be cautious."

Just as Li Dequan said, Chu Qinghe never intended to do anything to Li Dequan in the first place.

Letting Li Dequan go doesn't mean Chu Qinghe trusts Li Dequan.

After all, the two were not familiar with each other, and Chu Qinghe was only talking about hearsay about people and personalities; only a fool would believe it.

The reason for this is simply that it's not worth going to such lengths.
