Chapter 29: Getting into Trouble

Chapter 29: Getting into Trouble

Chu Menghuai and Zhao Tan looked at each other.

Almost at the same time, the two of them touched the ancient tree that had been growing for who knows how many years, but nothing happened.

"Send the person back to Yuxuan Peak first?" Chu Menghuai said tentatively.

Zhao Tan couldn't think of any good solution, so he nodded in agreement with Chu Menghuai, then pointed at Lu Fei and said, "This young man is also from Yuxuan Peak. Send them back together first."

So Chu Menghuai carried Jian An Ning on his back, and Zhao Tan carried Lu Fei on his back, and they went directly to Yuxuan Peak.

They also took the opportunity to check on Jian An Ning and Lu Fei, but did not find anything abnormal.

Chu Menghuai: I feel like I’ve gotten into trouble.

With uneasy hearts, they returned to Yuxuan Peak, but they did not find Jian An Ning's cave, so they could only send everyone to Lu Fei's residence.

The bed could barely accommodate two people.

Chu Menghuai hesitated for a moment, then said, "How about asking the Sect Master to come and take a look?"

Zhao Tan frowned, but nodded and said, "Elder Chu, please go and invite the sect leader. I want to investigate further."

Chu Menghuai is not good at curing illnesses and saving lives, but the Discipline Hall often deals with some emergencies, so Zhao Tan does have some experience in this area.

Therefore, Chu Menghuai did not suspect anything and turned around and went to the sect's main hall to look for Yun Zhongzi.

Zhao Tan formed seals and cast a spell, preparing to carefully investigate the situation of Jian An Ning and Lu Fei again.

However, at this moment, he felt as if someone was approaching.

The next moment, the door of the room opened.

Fan Qingyue looked at the person who shouldn't be here with a look of shock and asked, "Elder Zhao, why are you here?"

Zhao Tan was very calm, without any sense of guilt, and said to him: "Elder Jian and he are both unconscious, I came to check on the situation."

Fan Qingyue's eyes were filled with shock, and he asked, "Are there any villains in the Qingyun Sect who are trying to launch a sneak attack?"

Zhao Tan touched his nose and said, "Not really. It's just that Elder Chu and Elder Jian had an appointment to compete in the back mountains."

Zhao Tan was just wondering if there was something ambiguous in his words, and wanted to change his words to something more tactful, when he saw Fan Qingyue's expression as if he had suddenly realized something, and said, "So it turns out that Master went to the back mountain."

"Elder Zhao, don't worry. Master always seems unconscious like this. She's not unconscious, she's just asleep."

But Zhao Tan showed no sign of relaxing after hearing this. What did he mean by "it happens every time"? As a fellow elder of the Qingyun Sect, how could he not know that Jian Anning had such a problem?

Just when Zhao Tan was full of doubts, Chu Menghuai had already invited Yun Zhongzi over.

"Sect Master," Chu Menghuai described Jian Anning's condition to Yun Zhongzi, saying, "That's it. She fainted and can't wake up."

Yun Zhongzi frowned slightly and explained to Chu Menghuai: "She is not unconscious, she is just sleeping too deeply."

After that, he used his spiritual power to say to Jian An Ning, "Wake up.", using the standard gesture of waking someone up.

Jane Anning's eyelashes trembled slightly, and she actually woke up slowly.

But Zhao Tan and Chu Menghuai looked at each other and knew that it was not that simple.

If it was so easy to wake up Jane An Ning, why would they go looking for Yun Zhongzi?

And sure enough, Yun Zhongzi's next words confirmed their guess.

Yun Zhongzi didn't look relaxed at all. He even asked the genuine Jian Anning, "Are you Jian Anning?"

The woman in green clothes did not have the drowsy state of having just woken up. She opened her cold, lifeless eyes and looked indifferently at everyone present.

It was like she had always been doing this, without changing.

It was not until she heard Yun Zhongzi's words that some emotion finally showed on Jian Anning's face. She raised her hand, took the gourd from her waist and took a sip.

The original cold and sharp aura disappeared, and Jian Anning lay listlessly on the bed and said, "Of course it's me."

Chu Menghuai could certainly realize that something was wrong with Jian An Ning. Just when she wanted to ask further questions, Yun Zhongzi took her and Zhao Tan away.

"Master, does Elder Jian have any hidden injuries?"

Otherwise, it would be impossible to explain Jane Anning's strange behavior just now.

Yun Zhongzi stroked his beard, thought for a moment, and said, "Maybe it can be considered? It's just a minor problem, and she has always been reluctant to let others know about it."

"But why did Elder Jian's disciple faint?" Chu Menghuai asked again.

Yun Zhongzi was slightly startled and asked, "What disciple?"

"That's the young man in red lying next to Jian An Ning, Lu Fei."

Chu Menghuai was sure that this was the first time she saw an expression of surprise on the face of the usually calm sect leader.

On the other side, Lu Fei's residence.

Jian An Ning watched Yun Zhongzi and his group leave, and finally lay down on the bed in a very depressed manner.

It wouldn't have been a big deal to lie down like this, but she suddenly realized that there was another person on the bed.

"Why is Lu Fei here!"

Fan Qingyue looked at Jian An Ning like a cat, with all the fur on her body looking like it was about to explode.

He said silently: "Junior brother has been coming here."

As soon as Fan Qingyue spoke, he dealt a fatal blow to Jian An Ning. She looked like she was about to jump out of the bed.

"Why are you here?"

"I've been here all the time." Fan Qingyue added silently.

Jian Anning rubbed his forehead with a headache, waved his hand and said to Fan Qingyue, "Don't talk for now, I'll take a break."

It took a while for Jian An Ning to sort out her thoughts, and she immediately sent a sound transmission note to Chu Menghuai.

Soon, she received a reply from Chu Menghuai.

"Your little disciple just bumped into you and probably the tree behind you?" Chu Menghuai said uncertainly, "and then he fainted."

After hearing this, Jian An Ning crumpled up the remaining part of the sound transmission note and threw it aside with an expressionless face.

Fan Qingyue: Such a master looks a bit scary.

"Master?" he asked tentatively.

The next moment, those cold eyes stared straight at him.

Fan Qingyue felt as if he was being watched by some extremely dangerous being, and the feeling of uneasiness was far greater than any previous time when something was wrong with his master.

"What's up?"

"Nothing," Fan Qingyue waved his hands repeatedly. His survival instinct made him quickly reply, "If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."

After saying that, he started to run away.

However, Jian Anning said in a clear voice, "Wait."

Fan Qingyue got goosebumps all over his body.

"Why are you here?"

"My junior brother asked me a question about cultivation. I went back and discussed it with Junior Sister Jiang and was just about to tell him." Fan Qingyue answered tremblingly.

There was a clear flash of doubt in Jian Anning's eyes, and she asked: "What's the problem?"

"Junior Brother said that he was usually quite diligent in his cultivation, but the trip to Fuyu made him feel that his cultivation was insufficient. He didn't want to remain powerless, but now he has reached a bottleneck in his cultivation."

"Then I asked him, what do you want from practicing?"

"He said he didn't know, and then turned around and asked me again."

"I think this is an issue that requires extreme caution, so I discussed it with Junior Sister Jiang and was just about to share our thoughts with her."

Jian Anning supported her chin with one hand, looked at Fan Qingyue and said, "So what do you want from practicing?"

Fan Qingyue scratched his head sheepishly and said, "Rumor has it that someone saw the East China Sea transform into mulberry fields three times. I just want to live forever and witness the changes of the sea and the fields."

Jian An Ning nodded slightly, no longer making things difficult for her eldest disciple, and let Fan Qingyue leave directly.

"So, what do you want?" she murmured to herself, looking at Lu Fei who had not yet woken up.

The young man in red was very quiet, even his breathing was very slight. His eyelashes cast a heavy shadow on his eyes. His brows were furrowed, and he did not look particularly well.

"It seems like a not-so-nice dream."

Jian An Ning sighed as she spoke, pressing her thumb directly onto Lu Fei's brow. A halo of spiritual power instantly erupted. She whispered, "If that's the case, then wake up."

Lu Fei's expression became even more painful, as if two different forces were pulling at his spirit, like a piece of linen being twisted into a knot from both sides.

However, Jian An Ning's spiritual power was superior after all, so Lu Fei slowly opened his eyes.

"Where am I...?"

Lu Fei felt as if he had lived his whole life in another completely different world, but when he woke up he remembered nothing, only some extremely vague impressions remained in his mind.

"Wake up!" Jane Anning waved her hand in front of him.

So, he subconsciously looked at Jane An Ning. Even though his original memory had not fully recovered at this moment, he instinctively wanted to believe her.

But looking at Lu Fei's appearance, Jian An Ning felt helpless. It was obvious that she had not recovered yet.

She had no choice but to say, "That's the purpose of that place."

Jian Anning mumbled something, not explaining clearly what the purpose was. She continued, "Everything you did, thought, felt, and perceived just now was fake."

“Only here is the real world.”

Jian Anning's voice had an indescribable rhythm, which made Lu Fei subconsciously follow the voice, calm down, sit cross-legged, and circulate the spiritual power in his body.

Jian An Ning was not idle either. While Lu Fei was practicing his skills, she was also helping him sort out his chaotic spiritual power.

It was a long time before Lu Fei finally woke up completely.

As soon as she regained consciousness, Lu Fei lowered her head in shame, "I'm so ashamed."

Jian Anning heard her young disciple say, "I'm really a trouble."

When she saw Lu Fei, she wanted to find a hole to crawl into, and the blush of shame spread from her earlobes to her neck.

Jane Anning wondered what he was ashamed of?

The next moment, Fan Qingyue's voice rang in her ears, "He doesn't want to be powerless all the time."

Jian An Ning suddenly realized something. She grabbed Lu Fei, who was trying to crawl into the crack in the ground, and asked him, "So what do you want?"

Lu Fei's movements suddenly stopped.

He doesn't know what he wants.
