When Tang Yaoyao came out after changing her pants, Tang Yujiao was no longer in the corridor.
In the quiet corridor, Huo Linfeng leaned against the wall, while Su Mei squatted in the corner; neither of them spoke.
The emergency room lights were still on; no one knew what would happen next, or when another accident might strike.
That was Tang Yaoyao's father, who had raised her for over twenty years, and he was anxious and uneasy about this matter.
The long wait felt like it was coming to an end, and Su Mei really didn't want to see Tang Yaoyao so tense.
She appeared calm and even comforted Tang Yujiao, her expression remaining unchanged. However, her fingers, clenched into fists and turning white, said, "Brother Yao, do you want to rest for a while? Your body has just recovered and you need to rest. I believe Uncle will be alright."
Thinking of her father's love in the past, it seemed that the strength that had been supporting her had also collapsed, and she forced a smile.
"My dad should be alright, right? I just talked to him on the phone a few days ago, and he was still able to laugh. I've had his fortune told; he's destined for good fortune and won't suddenly collapse at this age, unless..."
She sensed that this was no ordinary accident. Why would her father suddenly vomit blood without any warning?
Before I could think any further, there was a commotion in the emergency room. A doctor wearing a mask came out and asked, "Which one of you is Mr. Tang's family member?"
Tang Yaoyao instantly perked up and walked over: "Yes, I am his daughter. How is my father?"
The doctor took off his mask, his expression somewhat grave. Just by looking at his mood, Tang Yaoyao knew that this illness was probably not simple. But she didn't expect what the doctor said to almost send her to the deepest abyss.
"Your father suffered a coronary heart disease attack, which caused a myocardial infarction. He has been rescued, but his heart has serious problems. His arteries are narrowing and blocking blood flow, and they are already hardening. At this stage, he can only rely on medication. If he coughs up blood again, he probably doesn't have many days left to live."
These words rang in Tang Yaoyao's ears.
I don't have many days left to live...
impossible.
Her father couldn't possibly not have many days left to live.
Tang Yujiao heard the doctor say this when she returned from paying the hospital fees.
Her usually aloof face changed drastically at that moment, and she ran over: "How could my father not have many days left to live? Doctor, he is very healthy."
Doctors have seen so many cases like this that they've become numb to it: "Birth, aging, sickness, and death are the natural course of life. I can only do my best to treat them."
Compared to Tang Yujiao's helplessness, Tang Yaoyao was more composed. She forced a smile and could not accept the fact either: "Although my father has coronary heart disease, he has been taking his medication regularly. It's not as serious as you say. He will live to be a hundred."
Upon being suddenly questioned like this, the doctor's expression changed: "Are you questioning my medical skills?"
"No need to question it." Tang Yaoyao was very agitated at the moment because in her memory, her father was indeed strong and healthy. How could he suddenly become unwell?
“You don’t even know why my father suddenly became so ill. How can I trust you? I want to get my father a different doctor.”
The doctor was stunned. Being questioned was a great humiliation, especially since he had some influence in society and had never seen such a frivolous and ungrateful patient's family member.
But that's how Tang Yaoyao felt in her heart; she couldn't accept that her father was dying from coronary heart disease.
