The emergency room light turned red again. Tang Yaoyao waited nearby, peering through a small window at the door to observe what was happening inside.
She saw her father lying in the hospital bed, wearing a ventilator, his eyes closed, his face pale, and his silence breaking her heart.
It seemed like a long time since I'd seen him; his hair had turned quite gray, and my father had finally grown old.
Thinking of this, Tang Yaoyao felt a sour taste in her mouth and her eyes reddened.
Birth, aging, sickness, and death are not things she can control.
She leaned against the wall, and the redness in her eyes couldn't lie.
A hand grasped her wrist, the fingertips were icy and soft, but not cold. A power flowed into her body, very warm. She gazed at Huo Linfeng, and he gazed at her, his voice low and gentle: "Grape, your father will be alright."
It would have been better if she hadn't offered any comfort; the moment she did, things seemed to go wrong, making Tang Yaoyao even more heartbroken.
Tears that had been held back for so long overflowed from her eyes like a flood. She could no longer hold back and almost choked up. Fortunately, there were too many people around, and not wanting to ruin her beautiful face, she forced herself to hold them back: "Thank you."
Tang Yujiao, who was watching all this from a short distance away, clenched her fingers slightly and said nothing.
Huo Linfeng stared at Tang Yaoyao, watching as large tears streamed down her face.
This was the first time he had seen her cry since he met her. His heart clenched suddenly, and he felt terrible as he watched the tears stream down her chin.
He was so engrossed in watching that he subconsciously reached out to wipe away his tears.
His hand was raised in mid-air, but then he realized it was inappropriate and froze for a long time, as if he was struggling.
She was Xiao Jinhan's sixteenth daughter.
It wasn't his grapes.
A complex mix of emotions welled up inside Huo Linfeng, and he frowned slightly until the emergency room doors opened.
The moment Tang Yaoyao turned around, his fingers brushed across her cheek, a tear clinging to his fingertip.
Only Huo Linfeng understood this, while Tang Yaoyao's attention was entirely on her father, and she had no idea that her face had been touched.
Then, Huo Linfeng put his finger to his lips.
It's bitter.
Huo Linfeng took a heavy breath.
Tang Yujiao, whose gaze followed Huo Linfeng's movements, also saw him. She saw him put Tang Yaoyao's tears in his mouth, and his face turned slightly pale. She then shifted her gaze and inquired about Tang Shengze's whereabouts.
Professor Lin said, "Your father's condition is not ordinary coronary heart disease."
Tang Yaoyao and Tang Yujiao were both stunned: "What is that?"
Professor Lin frowned, his tone grave: "I detected a stimulating drug in your father's blood. This drug can cause a relapse of heart disease. Not only that, it can also dilate arteries, causing hemoptysis and massive bleeding. In severe cases, your father could suddenly die of a heart attack one night."
"You mean someone drugged my father?" Tang Yaoyao asked in shock.
"Yes, that's right, and they're going all out."
Tang Yujiao exclaimed in surprise, "I was at home, who would drug him?"
Professor Lin looked at the doctor who was studying and looking at him with admiration: "To be a qualified doctor, you have to look for the cause of the disease from all aspects. You can make a mistake if you are just a little bit off."
"Yes, Professor Lin is right, I was negligent." The doctor humbly accepted the advice.
"It's not entirely your fault. The person who administered the drug was very discreet; without careful examination, it's impossible to detect," Professor Lin said.
Who would drug her father?
Tang Yaoyao frowned, her mind heavy. Her father was usually kind and gentle and had never made enemies. For someone to be so ruthless as to kill him, this was a truly vicious move.
Her gaze turned cold; if she didn't find the murderer, she wouldn't be Tang Yaoyao.
"Teacher, do you have a solution?" Huo Linfeng asked.
