"Brother Lu, have some water."
Tang Yaoyao politely poured him a glass.
Lu Chi glanced at her and said coldly, "It is my duty to protect Miss Tang, and I dare not neglect it."
Tang Yaoyao raised an eyebrow. Could it be that she was so tense at all times that she didn't even drink a sip of water?
Tang Yaoyao wondered where the bodyguards were; it was obvious that the bodyguards had a bigger temper than their owners.
They didn't exchange another word from beginning to end, because Tang Yaoyao realized that no matter what she said, Lu Chi always had his own consistent approach.
Around noon, Tang Yaoyao got hungry, so she ate lunch and asked someone to bring it to her.
She wanted to ask Lu Chi to go get something to eat, but Lu Chi remained standing there motionless.
She just couldn't understand why Lu Chi was made of iron: "If you don't drink water or eat, how will you have the energy to protect me later?"
Lu Chi said, "When I was a special forces soldier, I didn't have water or food for a whole day and night. Soldiers are different from ordinary people, and I am different from Miss Tang. I won't let you down in critical moments."
Every sentence sounded very serious, yet it also implied that she was utterly helpless.
In Lu Chi's eyes, she was a weakling, the kind who could only jump around for three seconds in a fight.
Tang Yaoyao was very indignant and wanted to argue, but Lu Chi suddenly became alert and said coldly, "Who?"
Because of Lu Chi's cold and hard tone, Tang Yaoyao did not answer for the time being. She tensed up, her eyes almost serious, and looked towards the door.
However, she saw nothing and had no idea what was happening outside the door.
Tang Yaoyao walked over with a cold face, but Lu Chi stepped in front of her and calmly said, "Miss Tang, please stand behind me. If the other party wants to attack you, you are already beyond the safety line."
He was a competent bodyguard, never daring to stay more than a meter away from Tang Yaoyao.
In any situation, he would be the first to stand in front of Tang Yaoyao.
Lu Chi opened the door, but there was no one outside.
Aside from patients with injuries and illnesses, and nurses and doctors passing by, I didn't see anything unusual.
Tang Yaoyao frowned and glanced out, but couldn't see anything: "Are you sure you saw anyone?"
“Hmm, someone is watching from the shadows,” Lu Chi analyzed. “I just heard faint breathing sounds, right behind the wall.”
"And now?"
Lu Chi said, "That's all."
The other person left the moment he spoke.
"How do you know it's a spy? It could also be a doctor or nurse," Tang Yaoyao asked curiously.
Lu Chi said, “The pedestrians’ breathing was either rapid or steady. Those who were too nervous would stop breathing and become tense. Moreover, he was very close to the door. He was pressed against the wall, eavesdropping, afraid of being discovered. His heart was beating very fast.”
Tang Yaoyao looked at him; his analysis was logical and didn't seem like he was making things up. "Your ears are that sharp?"
“Yeah, it’s an occupational hazard from long-term training.” Lu Chi closed the door and continued to follow Tang Yaoyao.
"That person is still in the hospital, very close to us. We should investigate; maybe we can find the murderer!" Tang Yaoyao was determined; she was determined to catch the murderer.
Lu Chi had a different view: "We are in the open, while the enemy is in the dark. Conducting investigations will only alert them, and this is the least advisable approach."
She realized that Lu Chi didn't take her words seriously, and perhaps her suggestions were the most naive and ridiculous in front of him.
That's true; he was a special forces soldier, and all sorts of countermeasures were screened before being selected.
