Under that gaze, Shi Qianqian felt she had done something wrong.
"elder brother……"
“You’re already causing trouble at school. What can you do besides fight? Don’t you know Yaoyao is very busy? If you continue like this, doing dirty tricks behind people’s backs, you don’t need to come back to the Fu family anymore. I can send you to another school and give you living expenses, as long as you don’t starve.”
Hero's opening remarks were extremely cruel, each word spoken with heartlessness, piercing Shi Qianqian's heart.
When he learned that Shi Qianqian had been in a fight, his first thought was that she had caused trouble.
He had a bad impression of the Shi family, and his impression of Shi Qianqian wasn't much better.
He agreed to bring her to the city simply because she shared the same blood as him.
This is a moral issue.
He decided to take Shi Qianqian away so that the Shi family wouldn't bother him.
But Shi Qianqian's troublemaking and fighting made him have an even worse impression of her.
He dislikes trouble and doesn't like others troubling him, and he dislikes it even more when it comes to Tang Yaoyao.
Now, his gaze toward Shi Qianqian is even colder.
Seeing this, Tang Yaoyao quickly went up to comfort him: "Fifteenth Brother, what are you saying? It's not what you think."
"What do you mean?" Hero stared at Tang Yaoyao: "You don't need to explain anything for her. Some people are just like that at heart. Her uncle's family are like that. Can she change them? Don't forget the embarrassment she caused you when she first came here."
Shi Qianqian left too many bad impressions on Hero's mind.
Tang Yaoyao said, "It's different, she's your sister."
Hero's eyes changed slightly, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips: "That's right, a quarter of the Shi family is in my blood."
Her reminder made Hero realize that he wasn't the Fu family's biological son, but that he shared their bloodline.
While talking about Shi Qianqian, he was also talking about himself.
Hero was too sensitive and preoccupied, so Tang Yaoyao quickly said, "You know that's not what I meant. You're different from them; you're my brother."
Shi Qianqian felt terrible and very sad: "I didn't mean to cause you trouble. I'm sorry, I won't do it again."
Hero turned his gaze to Shi Qianqian, who was afraid that Hero would blame her or dislike her, and wanted to run away.
She already gave Hero a bad enough impression, and now they know she's a fighter. They'll be annoyed whenever they see her in the future.
Shi Qianqian was very sad. Her only brother didn't like her and didn't want to see her again. She would have no family left.
But she dared not cry: "Sister Yaoyao, brother, I have to go to class now, I'm going back first, goodbye."
Shi Qianqian looked up and gave them a smile that said it was nothing.
She's a good person, with a strong heart, and won't be upset if Hero scolds her a couple of times.
Hero's gaze was indifferent, and he didn't say anything harsh again.
After Shi Qianqian left, Tang Yaoyao pulled Hero aside: "You're concerned about Shi Qianqian too, aren't you?"
Hero glanced away and said casually, "Who said that?"
“What I see is that if you didn’t care, you wouldn’t have come to school. You just can’t get over that mental hurdle, when someone suddenly barges into your world.” Tang Yaoyao could understand Hero’s thoughts; he was actually more attentive than anyone else.
Perhaps he didn't have a good feeling about Shi Qianqian at first.
Hero said, "I don't want to see her mess with you. Who knows what she's up to?"
"Shi Qianqian got into a fight because of me."
Hero was puzzled: "Maybe it's an excuse, an attempt to morally blackmail you."
“You’re just too prejudiced.” Tang Yaoyao still felt that he was being hypocritical: “You don’t spend much time with her and don’t understand her, so naturally you think it’s all her fault. I understand her. Actually, she’s just as sensitive as you. Maybe she didn’t receive much care when she was a child, so she’s very cautious.”
Hero fell silent again.
Tang Yaoyao held his hand tightly and found that his hand was cold. It was okay, she warmed it up for him.
“Some classmates were talking badly about me, and she couldn’t stand it anymore, so she got into an argument and a fight broke out. Think about it, Shi Qianqian has been doing manual labor since she was little. She looks thin and small, but she is very strong. The other person was hit by Shi Qianqian, so everyone thought that Shi Qianqian was the one who did it.”
Hero listened carefully to what she said. Tang Yaoyao spoke slowly and began to lecture him again: "You can't assume it's Shi Qianqian's fault without listening to explanations. You may not have much contact with people and don't understand social etiquette. You may think she won't get hurt. She cares about you a lot. In this world, you are her only family. If you don't love her, who else will?"
"She's actually quite pitiful; she doesn't get her brother's affection."
Hero didn't understand; he'd never felt that way before: "Am I that important?"
He doesn't feel like he can't live without anyone.
Just like when his parents left him when he was a child.
Anyone can leave him, and he can leave anyone; in the end, everyone lives alone in this world.
Tang Yaoyao looked at him and saw too much indifference in his eyes that didn't belong to him: "Of course you are important. You are our precious darling and Shi Qianqian's favorite brother."
Hero was amused by her words, but felt a little embarrassed: "How old are you, still calling me your darling?"
Tang Yaoyao blinked, leaned against him, and tried her best to make him laugh: "Of course, aren't I your darling too?"
Hero couldn't bring himself to say it.
Seeing that he couldn't speak and his face was a little red, she felt embarrassed.
He has a hard time saying things that move people, which is why he seems cold and unapproachable.
Everyone who looked at him was afraid.
