Chapter 1345 Mental Patients 2

"Missing me?"

Tang Yaoyao's suppressed emotions weren't so intense: "Yeah, I miss you. I just arrived at the mental hospital."

"What are you going there for?" Xiao Jinhan asked.

"I've come to see the girl I hit that day."

"What's wrong with her?" Judging from her tone, Xiao Jinhan knew something was wrong.

“I suspect that this girl is the one who wrote the letter to my older brother. The hospital called me today to thank me for finding the missing girl. On the phone, I heard her say that she was afraid of things like paper, pens, and emails. Plus, her description matches my older brother's description, so I suspect her.”

“Think about it. At first, this girl wrote to her older brother in a gentle and pleasant manner, not like someone who was not innocent. She seemed quite normal. But then she became so aggressive. Is there some reason for this? Or is someone forcing her and causing her mental state to become unstable?”

"The only person who could harbor hatred and poison my elder brother is someone who has recently been in contact with him, and the most suspicious person is Jiang Li."

The target area is actually not large, very small; even a single suspect could be the poisoner.

All that's needed is evidence.

Xiao Jinhan thought her analysis made some sense: "Well, where are you now? Do you need me to come find you?"

"I plan to go to the place where Jiang Li used to live to find out what happened."

"Okay, I'll go with you."

Tang Yaoyao was waiting for Xiao Jinhan at the entrance of the mental hospital. Less than fifteen minutes later, he drove over to find her.

They got into the car together and headed to Jiang Li's hometown.

It wasn't far from the mental hospital; it only took about twenty minutes to drive there. It was in a rather old neighborhood without an elevator. When they went in together, everyone was gossiping.

The neighbors are all gossipy.

"That girl has been sent to a mental hospital. It seems the whole family is sick."

“It’s good to send her there. I’m just afraid that one day the child will break an arm or a leg. Her father is no good person at all. Whoever gets involved with him is doomed.”

"With a father like that, the girl isn't much better; she's become crazy and erratic, unlike when she was in school."

"Her father is abusive, he beat her mother to death. The older one couldn't escape, and the younger one, needless to say, will be ruined by that man sooner or later."

Tang Yaoyao listened to them sighing and lamenting, looking quite sad.

"Is the girl you're talking about Jiang Li?"

Upon seeing the outsiders, they all said in unison, "Yes, that girl's name is Jiang Li. She has had a difficult childhood and is mentally unstable."

"Where do they live? Can you take me there?"

"It's best not to go, it's bad luck. We have to take a detour when we pass by his house, nobody wants to see that madman!"

Judging from their expressions, they don't like Jiang Li's family very much, and they'll probably cause a lot of trouble.

"It's okay, we want to go and take a look. Just tell us which floor it is."

Tang Yaoyao insisted on going, and they couldn't stop her, so they had no choice but to tell them where her family lived.

The old area was rather shady, and there was no elevator. The stairs were gloomy, so Xiao Jinhan subconsciously put his arm around Tang Yaoyao's waist and asked, "Are you scared?"

"What are you afraid of?" Tang Yaoyao asked.

Xiao Jinhan said, "We still don't know what kind of madman they're talking about. Jiang Li has already gone to a mental hospital, which means there's something wrong with this family, and there might be danger."

"Isn't it because you're here?" Tang Yaoyao laughed. "I'm not afraid because you're here. He should be afraid of you."

Xiao Jinhan chuckled easily, pulling her behind him. Even if there was danger, she would come to him first.

When I got to that floor, it was very peaceful, and nothing strange happened.

There are two households on the first floor; they were referring to the one on the left.

Tang Yaoyao walked to the door, knocked, and found that the door was not closed.

They walked in naturally. The place was incredibly messy and had a strange smell. The table was piled high with empty bottles, which showed that the owner liked to drink.

The curtains were not open, making the room look rather dark and gloomy. There was a pile of garbage on the floor, and many things were lying on the ground, unpicked up.

Xiao Jinhan took Tang Yaoyao's hand and walked inside step by step: "It looks like no one has lived here for several days."

The instant noodle box on the coffee table was almost dry, and no one had cleaned it up.

Tang Yaoyao walked inside and went directly to Jiang Li's room. Her room was relatively tidy and simple, with a bed and a desk with many books and some letters on it.

Those letters probably weren't sent, but among many of them was a well-packaged envelope with a yellow cover, so exquisite it didn't look like Jiang Li's at all. That was very likely a reply from Fu Xiuchen.

Tang Yaoyao opened the letter. The strong, vigorous handwriting was clearly Fu Xiuchen's. The letter contained words of encouragement for her.

What Jiang Li treasured so much were perhaps the words that had healed her the most during that period.

Tang Yaoyao flipped through the other letters Jiang Li had written, the ones that hadn't been sent, and they contained many things about her.

The topic she talked about most was loneliness and not being understood. She had no mother since she was a child, and her father would beat her when he was drunk.

Jiang Li's body was covered in scars from his father's beatings; the abuse had never stopped since he was a child.

Perhaps when Jiang Li wrote to Fu Xiuchen, she was only showing him her best side, while behind the scenes she was crying for help. She was having a terrible time, she had been abused, and she had never escaped this cage.

Then some of the letters became extreme; she hated Fu Xiuchen for giving her hope and not letting her die.

She shouldn't be redeemed, and it was mentioned that she only liked Fu Xiuchen being good to her and couldn't be good to anyone else.

She couldn't do charity work either, because she wanted to monopolize Fu Xiuchen's tenderness.

Tang Yaoyao's heart clenched at the sight.

Xiao Jinhan could tell that Tang Yaoyao's mood had changed, so he immediately patted her on the back: "It's alright now, she has escaped her father's cage."

Tang Yaoyao said, "This Jiang Li is the girl who wrote letters to the eldest brother. She was abused by her father. Perhaps she saw a good side of Fu Xiuchen on TV, or perhaps Fu Xiuchen often did charity work. She felt closer to Fu Xiuchen and wrote letters to him. How did things change later?"

"Perhaps as time went on, she began to become greedy, thinking that Fu Xiuchen's pity for her was the same as his pity for everyone else, which is why she became different."

Xiao Jinhan said, "It could be other reasons, such as her father. No one has lived here for several days. Where is Jiang Li's father? Or is he hiding out of guilt?"

Tang Yaoyao raised her head: "You mean..."

"Yes, Jiang Li was sent to the mental hospital not long after her older brother was poisoned. After that, her father disappeared. What else could it be but a guilty conscience? We need to call the police."
