Chapter 321 Unexpected

Su Mei knew that the moment the data was changed, Yao Ge would not be able to escape unscathed.

She could only nod and say, "I understand."

As Tang Yaoyao stood up, she reminded her again: "My beauty, I've figured out that Ruan Cang is a very suspicious man. Even though your sister loves him so much, he has never truly trusted her. You must be careful with your words and actions, and not let him suspect you."

Su Mei knew she had lost her composure just now, and she nodded: "I will be more careful in the future."

"I'll go first."

"Um."

When Song Yu returned, he found that Ruan Cang had returned to his usual gentle and humble self.

This is changing too fast.

For some reason, he felt that Ruan Cang was different from before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Will she come?

Song Yu nodded and said, "She said she'll be here right away."

Ruan Cang's gaze deepened, and he asked again, "Not a hint of refusal?"

Song Yu didn't know what had happened, but he recalled the scene when he went to invite Tang Yaoyao.

Her agent seemed to have said something first, before being interrupted.

But at the time, their ideas seemed to be similar, so they didn't pay much attention to it.

She shook her head: "No, she said she should have come to see you in person."

Ruan Cang's expression darkened further.

Just then, Tang Yaoyao walked over, a faint smile still on her face, as if she were looking forward to it.

Upon seeing this, Song Yu withdrew and closed the door for the two of them.

Tang Yaoyao smiled and said, "Brother Cang, I'm here."

At this moment, she had changed out of her costume, and her long hair, as if it had just been washed, was lazily draped over her shoulders.

She was wearing a youthful white dress, exuding a sweet and girlish charm.

"Miss Tang, please have a seat."

Tang Yaoyao didn't stand on ceremony and sat down next to him.

“Brother Cang, you don’t need to keep calling me Miss Tang. We’re business partners now, and you’re still my senior. If you don’t mind, just call me Yaoyao.”

Ruan Cang looked into her eyes; they were beautiful and clear, as if there wasn't a single impurity in them.

Those eyes made it hard for him to believe that she had approached him with a purpose.

Ruan Cang's voice deepened: "Alright, from now on I'll call you Yaoyao."

Tang Yaoyao immediately smiled.

Seemingly remembering something, she frowned slightly and asked with concern, "Brother Cang, did something unpleasant happen to you before?"

Ruan Cang's eyebrows twitched slightly; he hadn't expected her to bring this up herself.

Seeing his silence, Tang Yaoyao blinked and said gently, "If this is a difficult question to answer, then let's not talk about it. Perhaps, my acting skills are indeed problematic, I..."

Ruan Cang's gaze deepened as he looked at her, his voice humble: "It has nothing to do with your acting skills; it's just that I've been thinking about something."

Even though he was the same as before, with no major changes, she could clearly sense that the atmosphere had changed.

There was a tiny, dangerous spark, as if it were about to ignite.

Tang Yaoyao pretended not to know what he was talking about, smiled gently, and still looked obedient and clever: "Brother Cang, if it's something bad, just forget about it."

Ruan Cang looked at her charming appearance, her words and actions were all as cute as a young girl's, carefree, as if she really had no worries at all.

Moreover, she possessed a strange, infectious charm that gradually relaxed him.

Such relaxation, however, was fatal for him.

He subtly withdrew his gaze, lowered his head slightly, and his eyes instantly turned cold, bloodthirsty, and sinister.

"Yaoyao, who else is in your family?"

Tang Yaoyao smiled, her fox-like eyes hiding a hint of cunning.

Sure enough, the fox's tail is about to be revealed.

Tang Yaoyao's expression gradually faded, and her voice lost its previous sweetness: "Since I can remember, I have only had one older sister."

Ruan Cang's breath hitched, and a heavy look appeared in his eyes.

He narrowed his eyes, looked up again, his gaze returning to its former gentleness, and avoided the topic of her sister, asking her, "Where are your parents?"

Tang Yaoyao's expression softened as she recalled her childhood.

"He passed away when I was very young, and my sister and I were left to depend on each other."

She thought of something pleasant and smiled slightly.

“When I was little, I always lived in my neighbor’s house. My older sister would come to see me every month. Every time she came, she would buy me a princess dress and take me to eat my favorite food.”

Ruan Cang's expression showed some emotion, but only for a moment.

“Every time my sister leaves me, I cry. My aunt says that my sister is a big star in the entertainment industry and I will see her on TV.”

Tang Yaoyao's eyes turned red as she said this: "I watch TV every day, but I've never seen my sister on TV. My aunt is lying to me."

"When I was little, I didn't understand. I always felt that my sister didn't want me anymore. Then one day, I actually saw my sister on TV. It was said that she had committed suicide by jumping off a building..."

Ruan Cang frowned as he watched the tears streaming down her face.

Tang Yaoyao suddenly looked at him.

Their eyes met, and her eyes were filled with sorrow.

Ruan Cang's breath hitched, feeling somewhat awkward, but he managed to hold it in.

His voice was somewhat deep: "Did you enter the entertainment industry because of your sister?"

Tang Yaoyao nodded and wiped the tears from her cheeks: "After I entered high school, I realized that my aunt was not lying to me. My sister is indeed in the entertainment industry, but my aunt did not know that my sister is a manager."

He looked at the tears welling up in her eyes; they were genuine, without a trace of pretense.

All of this was completely unexpected by Ruan Cang.

He thought Tang Yaoyao would hold back some things from him.

But she revealed all her inner feelings to him: her longing for her sister, and why she entered the entertainment industry...

"Now that you've entered the entertainment industry, have you looked into which artists your sister managed back then?"

Upon hearing this, Tang Yaoyao noticed a change in his expression, and the admiration in his eyes became even more pronounced.

She bit her lip, hesitated, and said cautiously, her voice trembling, "I...I don't know if you remember my sister..."

Ruan Cang's eyes flickered, but he pretended to know nothing: "What's your sister's name?"

Tang Yaoyao: "I checked the information, and she used to be your agent for many years."

Ruan Cang's usually gentle and modest demeanor wavered.

He frowned slightly: "You mean, Su Li?"

Tang Yaoyao nodded and stood up excitedly: "My sister, yes, it's Su Li, she's my sister, it's so good that you still remember her."

She was crying and laughing at the same time, completely losing control of her emotions.

Ruan Cang's Adam's apple bobbed, and his gaze deepened as he looked at her.

Judging from her current appearance, it's as if she was abandoned in the first half of her life, but met him and things got better in the second half.

His excited and joyful expression was as if he had seen his only relative in the world.

"Tang Yaoyao".
