Tang Shengze sensed her heartache, his breath caught in his throat, and he called out, "Yao'er."
"Take care of yourself, Dad."
With that, Tang Yaoyao turned and walked away, leaving behind a back filled with sorrow.
Upon seeing this, Tang Yujiao quickly chased after him, calling out, "Yao'er."
Tang Yaoyao turned to look at her: "There's no need to persuade me to stay. I know you don't want to see me either."
"We are family, why should we keep each other at arm's length?"
"One family..."
Tang Yaoyao feigned a dazed expression, and finally gave a cold, desolate laugh: "I am not part of your family."
After saying that, he left.
Tang Yujiao was not giving up and said again, "If Mom did anything to upset you, I apologize on her behalf. Yao'er, what will Dad do if you leave? He has really missed you these days."
Tang Shengze listened with a hint of sadness, as if the story had come to an end.
Tang Yaoyao laughed, wiping away the tears in her eyes. Even her politeness vanished, and she said coldly, "My severing ties with your mother has nothing to do with my father. Your words are quite profound."
After she finished speaking, Tang Yujiao's usually gentle and calm eyes seemed to turn pale for a moment.
But she only regained her composure for a moment: "I was just worried about you..."
"Dad will always be my dad. As the older sister, you shouldn't say things that create distance between us under the guise of doing what's best for the family." Tang Yaoyao interrupted her.
Although her words were sharp, her smile was also gentle, and her tenderness seemed to emanate from her very bones. This dignified and elegant feeling was even three points more noble than Tang Yujiao's.
Tang Yujiao fell silent, her eyes seemingly filled with countless thoughts, which finally turned into a long sigh.
"Brother Ziyi, take me away."
Zi Yi nodded: "Yes."
Having said that, he walked behind her, his powerful aura seemingly shielding her from all demons and monsters.
Sumei followed closely behind.
Only three people remained in the room.
Tang Shengze was somewhat lost in thought as he recalled the words Yao'er had said before she left.
When Yao'er resolutely turned away, he felt only guilt and apology. It wasn't until Jiao Jiao said those words that he felt sadness and pain, and for a moment he hoped that Yao'er could understand him and accept her mother.
Only later did he realize that his emotions had been unconsciously influenced by Jiao Jiao's words.
He looked up at her, his eyes scrutinizing her, and asked seriously, "Did you really want to keep her here just now?"
Tang Yujiao met his cold and serious expression with composure, her eyes gentle as if encompassing everything, and softly replied, "She is my sister, isn't she?"
Tang Shengze gradually relaxed.
From childhood to adulthood, Jiaojiao has never caused him any trouble. Perhaps, she really did it for the good of the family.
Tang Shengze's voice softened, and his eyes showed some emotion: "Don't worry, let her calm down."
“I took my mother to the hospital; her index finger was broken.”
"Go and rest, leave this to me."
Tang Yujiao hesitated for a moment, looking at her mother with a helpless expression, before finally nodding and saying, "Okay."
After Tang Yujiao left, only the couple remained in the room.
"Honey, please take me to the hospital quickly, I'm in so much pain, it really hurts."
Tang Shengze's aura darkened, as if he were barely suppressing his anger: "What exactly did you do to Yao'er?"
"That man hit me, my hand is broken now, why are you still..."
"Don't deny it, Yao'er is a good child. What heinous things have you done that made her want to sever her mother-daughter relationship with you and never come home again?" Tang Shengze questioned her, appearing indifferent in the face of her cries of pain.
"I really didn't."
Tang Shengze then asked, "What was the root cause of her massive bleeding?"
Lin Hui trembled in fright and shook her head haphazardly, "I don't know, I don't know..."
Outside the door.
Tang Yujiao didn't close the door properly; she walked very slowly.
It took her almost ten minutes to walk just ten meters.
Hearing no sound, he assumed his father had finished questioning his mother.
Suddenly, a scream pierced the air, filled with boundless terror...
She frowned, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and opened them again. Her eyes were calm, and she walked towards the bedroom without stopping.
...
Tang Yaoyao and the other two got into the car.
Pei Jin had already fallen asleep in the car. When he opened his eyes, he saw Tang Yaoyao's swollen cheeks. He frowned and asked in a deep voice, "What happened?"
"Her mother..."
Pei Jin didn't speak. He didn't know much about her family's affairs, but he looked at Su Mei.
Su Mei also shook her head.
Everyone tacitly kept silent.
"Take me back."
"Um."
Tang Yaoyao looked out the window at the magnificent city of Fuzhou, her eyes slightly unfocused.
Pei Jin naturally slowed down the car so that she could enjoy the scenery along the way.
The slightly dusty scent wafted through her nostrils, but she didn't mind it. Instead, she felt a sense of freedom, a feeling that was quite comforting.
An unprecedented sense of ease spread through my heart, and a smile appeared on my face.
Su Mei: "..."
Pei Jin: "..."
Zi Yi remained calm and composed, showing no emotion.
She could have easily dodged that slap, but she did it to completely sever ties with Lin Hui, so that even her father couldn't stop her.
Even if Lin Hui wasn't good, in her original heart, she was still her mother.
That's not true now, and it certainly won't be in the future.
With a heart freed from its constraints, wouldn't revenge be even more meaningful?
