Chapter 459 My Brother's Heart 1

Huo Yu's room.

After reprimanding Rosie, Huo Yu returned to his room feeling unwell. Not long after, he fainted, his face pale and lifeless.

Qiu Jie sat by the bed, holding his hand, crying her heart out: "Huo Yu, wake up! I told you not to touch that feng shui stuff, but you wouldn't listen. Now you're unconscious again. What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to do?"

Huo Yu's eldest son also rushed back, but unfortunately he missed the banquet. When he arrived, he saw his father lying in bed, on the verge of death.

"Dad, I'm sorry..."

As Huo Qifeng spoke, his eyes held a deep anger, the whites of his eyes turning red, which quickly filled with bright red blood vessels: "Mom, where are those feng shui guys?"

“They’re gone, they’re all gone.” Qiu Jie said absentmindedly, then added, “Your father probably knew his body couldn’t hold on much longer, so he sent those people away early.”

"The doctors couldn't find the cause of my father's illness. It was a psychological problem. These feng shui people kept saying this and that in my father's ear. He always doubted that he was a feng shui master and that he wasn't doing a good enough job, so he got this illness."

Qiu Jie was of one mind with her son, and after hearing what he said, she immediately found the cause of the problem: "Old Li, go and throw all those unclean things out of his study."

"Madam, this..."

"Can't you hear me? The person is almost gone, what's the point of having those unlucky things?"

Qiu Jie was always gentle and virtuous. Even though she disliked Huo Yu studying feng shui, she had never been so extreme. His illness made her forget her usual gentleness and she hated his feng shui studies.

Huo Qifeng asked anxiously, "Where's the doctor? Why hasn't the doctor arrived yet?"

“Our private doctor is at a loss for what to do about your illness, so he went to see Dr. Liu at the city's central hospital.”

Qiu Jie was very upset. Wiping away her tears, she said, "Dr. Liu examined me before, but couldn't find the cause..."

Huo Qifeng sighed deeply: "This won't work, that won't work..."

He looked at his mother, reached out and gently patted her shoulder, his voice trembling slightly, "Mom, call an ambulance and take Dad to the hospital. This can't be kept a secret anymore."

Because the company is currently facing the issue of going public, many shareholders disagree, internal strife is serious, and the chairman's position is in jeopardy, so Huo Yu's illness has not been disclosed to the outside world.

Now that things have come to this point, the only option is to send him to the hospital. This unexpectedly means that an uncontrollable internal conflict is brewing, posing a significant threat to Huo Yu.

There is no other way.

Qiu Jie said, "That's your father's life's work. He once said that even if he died, he would never go to the hospital to let those who are eyeing our group have their way. He even planned that if he really couldn't take it and passed away, you would go to the group in his place."

"Mom, I care more about Dad's life than inheriting the company. Those things are just material possessions. I only have one Dad." Huo Qifeng clenched his fists and said, "Even if the news of Dad's illness spreads and those old fogies try to take advantage of the situation, I can go to the company to stop them and prevent Dad's hard work from being taken away."

Qiu Jie looked at her son, her expression deeply moved: "You're all grown up now, so I'll listen to you and take him to the hospital."

Just then, the door opened.

Huo Xueyin felt a fleeting moment of joy upon seeing her brother return. But when she saw her father lying on the bed with his eyes closed, her face turned deathly pale. Her lips trembled, and after a long pause, she finally asked, "Mom, what happened to Dad? He was fine just now..."

"He/She has fallen ill."

Upon hearing this, Huo Xueyin burst into tears and quickly ran over.

When she saw her father on the bed, she immediately burst into tears and turned to Su Lexin: "Lexin, come and see what's wrong with my dad? Didn't you say you could save him?"

After Tang Yaoyao stepped into the room, she smelled a medicinal herb, but the scent made her feel dizzy, and it didn't seem like a life-saving medicine.

She approached discreetly and stood beside Fu Ziyi.

Qiu Jie and Huo Qifeng listened to her and looked over.

Qiu Jie wiped away her tears, as if she had seen a glimmer of hope: "Xiao Yin, can she really save your father?"

“She is Su Yan’s daughter, Su Lexin, and also my classmate. She can definitely change the feng shui of our house and save Dad’s life,” Huo Xueyin explained to her mother, her voice trembling.

At this moment, she believed in the impossible if it meant saving her father.

He choked for a few seconds, wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, and looked at Tang Yaoyao: "She is also a distinguished guest invited by my father. Her name is Tang Yaoyao. She can tell fortunes. Perhaps she can resolve my father's calamity and help him get better."

Qiu Jie looked unwell and didn't seem to like them much.

Huo Qifeng had heard his father talk about Su Yan. He could respect the people his father respected, but he would never accept a charlatan fortune teller.

He never believed any of this. In his eyes, Tang Yaoyao was just a con artist trying to make a quick buck by taking advantage of her father's critical illness.

Pointing at the door, his eyes filled with malice, he roared, "Fortune teller, get out!"

Instantly, Huo Xueyin trembled in fright: "Brother, what are you doing? She is our guest."

Huo Qifeng was furious when he saw her: "You know perfectly well that my father likes to study these metaphysical things, yet you deceive him when he is seriously ill and prevent him from seeing a doctor. Do you think you can save him? Don't even think about swindling a single penny from my Huo family!"

Qiu Jie also felt that her son shouldn't have treated the guests that way, but when she thought back to what he said, she realized it made a lot of sense. She pretended not to see it, and her gaze fell on the critically ill Huo Yu. She couldn't help but shed tears again.

Rosie was the happiest and most triumphant person here. The thought of her being slunk away made her feel very pleased.

Seeing that she didn't move, only kept her head down, Huo Qifeng shouted angrily again, "What are you still standing there for? Get out of here!?"

Fu Ziyi's expression turned cold: "Qi Feng, watch your words."

Upon hearing this, everyone in the room was taken aback.

In their eyes, Fu Ziyi had always been a quiet and aloof person. The only reason he was standing here was because Huo Yu had been kind to him.

But it's truly astonishing that he would speak up for a woman.

Rosie, her heart pounding, weakly reminded him, "Brother Ziyi, my cousin said she's a liar, please don't..."

Fu Ziyi coldly interrupted her: "Her identity was verified by Uncle Huo at the banquet. Since she is Uncle Huo's guest, I have a reason to protect her."

After saying that, he stepped in front of her and shielded her.

He squinted slightly as he swept his gaze over the group, as if even his breath was icy cold.
