Chapter 573 Perfect Counterattack 1

Su Mei thought she would be happy, but to her surprise, her face was cold: "Hang up."

Su Mei was stunned for several seconds after hearing this.

"I'm hanging up. I'm turning off my phone. It keeps ringing and disturbing my rest." Tang Yaoyao repeated herself, this time being more specific.

Su Mei: "..."

She understood that Yao-ge was upset and felt that Master Xiao was somewhat innocent, but she couldn't disobey her, so she hung up the phone and turned it off.

Tang Yaoyao's mood fluctuated. She had really wanted to hear his voice before, but now she wanted peace and quiet.

Seeing her like this, Su Mei moved her lips, wanting to tell her the truth, but she was afraid that she would worry too much and affect her condition.

In the end, I gave up.

After a while, she felt a little sad and decided to help Master Xiao, who had given so much.

He tentatively asked, "Brother Yao, are you sure you don't want to answer his call?"

"Um."

It hurts so much, I don't even want to talk.

It felt like a needle was piercing her toes, penetrating deeper and deeper. The pain kept her mind clear, and she couldn't even sleep to temporarily forget the pain.

Not only my toes, but my whole body aches.

She endured it for half an hour, her body covered in a fine layer of cold sweat, making her extremely uncomfortable.

"The IV drip is finished. I'll have the doctor come and change your dressing. Lie down and don't move."

Tang Yaoyao replied softly, "Mmm~"

She was in so much pain that she was completely exhausted and had almost no strength left...

After waiting a few minutes, the doctor came with a nurse. The nurse removed the IV drip and the needle, and pressed a cotton swab against the back of her hand: "Throw away the cotton swab when the bleeding stops."

"Um……"

Hearing her weak voice, the nurse glanced at her again, looking at her delicate yet pale face, which still couldn't hide her unparalleled beauty.

The nurse was a big fan of Ye Junlin's wife. Thinking about his current situation, she felt very dissatisfied and forcibly suppressed her anger.

However, this little injury is causing her so much pain. I originally thought Tang Yaoyao would be different, but I didn't expect her to be so dramatic and pretentious.

If it weren't for Ye Junlin, she would have been crushed to death long ago, and she didn't care at all about the man who protected her with his life.

There were no cameras pointing at her, and she didn't know who she was trying to impress with that pitiful look. It was disgusting and made me want to vomit.

The attending physician lowered his head and first examined her foot, then looked at her other injuries, before instructing, "Now is the healing period for the wounds, so try not to get out of bed if you can avoid it."

"Thank you, doctor..." Tang Yaoyao squinted slightly, as if saying a single sentence to the doctor had taken a great deal of her energy.

"You're welcome."

Seeing that the doctor and nurses were about to leave, Tang Yaoyao politely asked, "Could you prescribe some special painkillers?"

The doctor nodded: "Okay."

Then, he instructed the nurse, "Xia, go and open a box and bring it over to Miss Tang."

Xia Yun nodded respectfully: "Okay, I'll go right away."

After the two left, the room became quiet.

To ease the pain, Tang Yaoyao tried to distract herself: "Did you go see Ye Junlin this afternoon?"

“Pei Jin and I have both seen it. Don’t worry about him. With me here, you should recover from your injuries as soon as possible. Once you can get out of bed, go and thank him in person.”

Tang Yaoyao shook her head, the scene still vivid in her mind—the moment he protected her.

The heavy objects pressed down on her. He asked her a question in a fit of rage, and then he fainted. For a moment, she thought he was dead.

Thinking about this, she felt a wave of fear. Fortunately, he was alright, which eased her burden a little.

Seeing that she was feeling down, Su Mei comforted her, "Don't be so upset. He's fine now. Once you're all better, treat him to a meal to thank him properly."

As she spoke, she felt uncertain, her heart sinking, wondering if that day would ever come.

Tang Yaoyao gently shook her head, her voice a little hoarse: "Such a great favor cannot be repaid with just a meal or a thank you."

Su Mei listened, deeply moved. Seeing her melancholy expression, and remembering how she had just ordered the Fourth Master's phone to be hung up.

She asked uncertainly in a low voice, "Brother Yao, you wouldn't be thinking of repaying me with your body, would you!?"

Tang Yaoyao rolled her eyes at her: "I already have a boyfriend, how could I possibly do something like cheating or betraying him?"

She had been betrayed by her best friend before, and even though she was just a little fox at the time, the pain she felt couldn't be erased even after several lifetimes.

How could she possibly hurt others in the same way?

Unless Xiao Lao Si breaks up with her.

She sighed and said, "We'll talk about how to repay your kindness later."

"Um."

Tang Yaoyao looked around, somewhat puzzled: "Where's Pei Jin? I don't think I've seen him at all."

"He's taking care of Ye Junlin in his hospital room, so don't worry about that. Would you like some porridge after you take your medicine?"

"I have no appetite. Take your medicine and then go to sleep."

Seeing that she looked pale and her clothes were damp with sweat, Su Mei took a towel and placed it on her back: "You're sweating so much, don't catch a cold again."

"Um……"

Just then, the door opened, and Su Mei was startled. She was really afraid of hearing bad news. She turned around and saw Xia Yun holding painkillers, and then she breathed a sigh of relief.

"Effective painkillers will more or less damage the kidneys. Take one when you can't bear the pain, and wait eight hours between doses."

After speaking, Xia Yun handed the document to Su Mei.

Su Mei smiled and nodded: "Thank you."

She looked up and noticed that her eyes were red and brimming with tears, as if she was trying her best to control her emotions.

"Give me one pill," Tang Yaoyao said.

"Oh, okay."

Su Mei poured a glass of water, took a small sip to check the temperature (it wasn't too hot), and then handed over the medicine: "The water temperature is just right. Take one pill. Don't take it again next time you're in pain, as it has side effects."

After swallowing the food, Tang Yaoyao lazily said, "You know I can't stand the pain..."

These words finally made the nurse, who was on the verge of a breakdown, lose control of her emotions. Her eyes were red, and she glared angrily at Tang Yaoyao: "If you can't bear the pain, can Mr. Ye?"

The sudden questioning left Tang Yaoyao somewhat bewildered. She asked Su Mei to move her position so she could see the nurse clearly and notice the tears glistening in her eyes. Only then did she understand.

She's probably a fan of Ye Junlin's wife.

Su Mei's heart skipped a beat, sensing something was wrong. She immediately said coldly, "Please control your emotions. The patient needs to rest now. Please leave."

"Mr. Ye was seriously injured while saving you. He suffered broken ribs and a broken left leg. Although he underwent surgery, he still has intracranial hemorrhage and is in the intensive care unit. Those injuries could take his life at any time. Just now, he was taken to the emergency room again."
