Chapter 787 Reaping the Rewards (3)

She did think a lot, and even wondered if she might be a wealthy heiress who had been separated from her family and living away from home.

She had considered investigating her own background, which would inevitably require her brother's help.

But ever since he failed to deal with Tang Yaoyao that day, he has never appeared again, and she can't contact him either; it's as if he has vanished into thin air.

She only suffers from a congenital mental illness called paranoia, but that doesn't mean she's not mentally sharp.

He immediately understood what she meant.

She didn't want to delve deeper, pretending not to understand: "What do you mean?"

“My dad said that you were his daughter for twenty years, so there must be some affection between you. Now that we’ve completely severed ties, as your former father, he naturally has to find you your parents so that you won’t be lonely and helpless in your later years.”

Even Liao Mengyao, who was usually very calm, panicked when she heard this. She gripped her sleeves tightly and said, "You're lying!"

"What lie did I tell?"

Liao Mengyao shook her head: "My dad would never abandon me. My mom said that he was the one who carried me home and named me. How could he possibly abandon me?"

She spoke very quickly, and it was less about convincing herself that Fu Jiang wouldn't abandon her and more about convincing herself.

Tang Yaoyao shrugged: "Think whatever you want. Your biological mother is right outside the door, waiting for your biological father to come over. Liao Mengyao, congratulations, your family is about to be reunited."

She looked at Tang Yaoyao's eyes, which held an undisguised cunning, a playful smile, and a mocking attitude.

Even though he was sitting there, I had the illusion that I was looking down on her from the bottom of my heart, as if I had drawn a line in the sand and distinguished between high and low, noble and base, in an instant.

At this moment, Liao Mengyao hated that she didn't have Qiao Mingzhu's blood on her body, and she hated Tang Yaoyao. She narrowed her eyes coldly and said, "No, Dad sent me back. I am his and Mom's daughter."

Tang Yaoyao sighed softly, feigning regret: "Liao Mengyao, you are really quite ill. No wonder, your mother passed this paranoia on to you."

Mother?

Liao Mengyao stared at her with wide eyes, her breathing becoming heavier and heavier. She tried her best to remain calm, but a voice inside her was screaming.

Her surname is Fu, not Liao.

She is the true heiress of the Fu family; Tang Yaoyao is nothing but a villain who stole her identity.

If her father were to kick her out of the house today, she would definitely kill Tang Yaoyao.

Kill her!

She cannot possess anything related to the Fu family, and Tang Yaoyao is even less worthy of it.

Liao Mengyao's normally pretty eyes turned red, and she could only clench her fists to control her body.

Just then, they heard more disordered footsteps; it wasn't just one person.

Tang Yaoyao smiled, her voice carrying a hint of roguishness yet incredibly sweet: "Your parents have arrived."

Liao Mengyao heard the sound and looked up.

Her eyes seemed to automatically block out everyone around Fu Jiang, focusing solely on him.

Her eyes welled up, and the tears she had been holding back finally spilled over. She mimicked the look of surprise and joy he would show whenever he came home when she was little, and ran quickly to him, excitedly calling out, "Dad!"

However, before he could get close, Fu Ziyi blocked her path, grabbed her shoulder, and said in a voice as cold as ice: "Miss Liao, you have severed ties with the Fu family. Please have some self-respect."

After saying that, Liao Mengyao looked at Fu Jiang with pain in her eyes, biting her lower lip pitifully.
