Chapter 926 The Unknown 1

The driver was waiting for passengers by the roadside when he saw three girls approaching. He quickly asked, "Where are you three going?"

As he spoke, a hint of doubt crept into his eyes.

Isn't that the famous actress Tang Yaoyao?

Tang Yaoyao tried to make her voice sound very soft as she asked, "Sir, do you remember that you had a seven-year-old passenger an hour ago?"

"I remember, she was a celebrity. I even watched some of her TV dramas and asked her for her autograph."

As he spoke, he opened the small notebook he usually used for keeping accounts, and sure enough, there were three neat characters on it—Shang Qiqi.

Tang Yaoyao was very observant and noticed a drop of translucent paper, which must have been stained by a tear.

"Where did you take her? Do you remember?"

The driver chuckled and said, "Of course I remember. The child kept talking to me the whole way, and we went to a small town."

Hearing this, Tang Yaoyao finally felt a little relieved and asked, "Do you remember where it is? Can you take us there?"

"no problem."

The driver had just heard from the child that she and Tang Yaoyao were filming an advertisement clip, so there was no need to refuse.

Tang Yaoyao added, "For this part of the journey, please use the meter. I'll pay you when we arrive."

"OK."

The driver couldn't stop smiling. He never expected to meet celebrities, let alone that these celebrities would be so approachable.

After that, I got back into the car.

We followed the driver all the way to a small town.

Tang Yaoyao looked around but didn't see Shang Qiqi's small figure. She turned to Chu Nian and asked, "Do you know what this town means to her?"

After all, Chu Nian and Shang Qiqi had worked together for a long time, so perhaps she had heard her mention it.

Chu Nian replied, "I heard her say that her hometown is a small town. Perhaps it is her mother's hometown."

"I see."

"Um."

Tang Yaoyao looked at the bustling traffic outside until she stopped in a sparsely populated area.

The taxi driver got out of the car and walked to Su Mei's car: "The three of you, this is it."

Tang Yaoyao got out of the car and looked around. There were hardly any people walking around, and it felt somewhat desolate. "Are you sure we're here?"

The driver nodded: "She said this is her hometown, and she's going home to see her relatives."

The driver's words overlapped with Chu Nian's memories, so this must be the place.

Tang Yaoyao asked again, "After she got out of the car, did you notice which direction she walked in?"

“I was going to wait for her here, visit her relatives, and then take her back to the city. She refused, saying she wanted to stay overnight in her hometown, so I left.”

Tang Yaoyao gave him three hundred yuan: "Thank you, keep the change."

The taxi driver took it and quickly said, "That's too much, you don't need that much. Wait a moment, I'll give you your change."

Tang Yaoyao shook her head: "No need."

Then she got into the car, and the three of them went to the location the taxi driver had pointed to.

The road wasn't very wide, and cars occasionally passed by. Ahead was only highway, and I didn't know when I would find it if I kept searching.

At this moment, Su Mei saw a very important road sign: Jiangzhen Cemetery.

"Brother Yao, is it possible that Qiqi's mother's ashes weren't placed in the Shang Shenghao family's ancestral hall at all, but instead in the cemetery in her hometown?"

Chu Nian agreed: "Yes, so Qiqi has come back to find her mother."

"Let's go in and take a look."

"Um."

I parked the car outside the cemetery.

After getting off the bus, Tang Yaoyao walked to the guard booth at the cemetery and greeted the guard who was watching TV: "Hello, Uncle."

The security guard turned around: "What is it?"

Tang Yaoyao gestured with her hands: "Have you ever seen a girl this big go into a cemetery?"

"You mean Kiki?"

Upon hearing this, Tang Yaoyao was very excited; she was finally going to find it.

"Yes, it's her."

The security guard nodded: "They've been inside for a long time."

After saying that, he asked, still unsure, "Who are you to her?"

"I am Tang Yaoyao, her co-star in her new drama."

After giving her name, the security guard realized where the familiarity came from and quickly nodded: "Go in, her relative's tombstone is number 130."

"Thanks."

The three of them stepped into the cemetery.

They searched frantically for the tombstones, their hearts filled with worry.

Finally, at number seventy, I looked up and immediately saw a small figure kneeling beside a tombstone not far ahead.

Chu Nian shouted, "It's Qiqi!"

After saying that, unable to contain his worry, he called out, "Qiqi."

However, Qiqi seemed not to hear, nor did she turn around to look.

Chu Nian called out again, "Qiqi."

She still didn't react.

This state of Qiqi made Tang Yaoyao, Su Mei, and Chu Nian feel flustered.

The three of them ran quickly and finally arrived at Qiqi's side.

She knelt before her mother's grave, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, her pretty, well-behaved face streaked with tears that hadn't quite dried in the wind.

Seeing this scene, Chu Nian, who was usually indifferent, was terrified. She did not expect that Qi Qi was really as Su Mei had just said.

He quickly called out to her again, "Qiqi, what's wrong?"

Tang Yaoyao felt a void in her heart. At this moment, she, who was used to seeing life and death in the world, could not accept it. She looked down and saw a bottle of medicine on the ground, and murmured, "She swallowed poison."

Su Mei and Chu Nian's hearts sank.

What kind of pain could drive a girl with such a sweet smile to swallow poison and choose to leave this world in such a painful way?

In a panic, Chu Nian picked up her phone and dialed the hospital's emergency number with trembling hands.

Tang Yaoyao recalled the look Qiqi had given her once again. How desperate must she have been to look like that? She reached out and trembled as she tried to check Qiqi's breath.

Faint breathing...

A sudden chill ran through him: "She's not dead yet."

After saying that, he picked up Qiqi and patted her cheek: "Wake up, Qiqi, cheer up, wake up quickly."

Su Mei's eyes reddened as she tried to wake her: "Qiqi, wake up."

Tang Yaoyao made her lie on her lap, then patted her back with her hands: "Quickly spit out the poison, Qiqi. Your mother would never want to see you die like this. You are her precious child."

Upon hearing her mother's voice, the girl, whose consciousness was already fading, moved her fingers.

Upon seeing this, Chu Nian seemed to recall her childhood, and silently shed tears. Holding Qiqi's hand, she softly said to her, "Qiqi, Mom didn't leave you alone in this world, but wanted you to help her live."

Qiqi slowly opened her eyes and saw Chu Nian. Her eyes, usually brimming with a bright smile, were now brimming with tears as she softly called out, "Sister Chu..."
