Chapter 10: Mountain Village in the Rain (10)

Chapter 10: Mountain Village in the Rain (10)

The first morning breeze blew through the bamboo forest, and the milky white morning light dispersed the thick fog.

When the fog dissipated, the village returned to its original tranquility.

Su Yue and Cang Zhi were walking on the path.

When Su Yue went out last night, he carried a simple bag made of a bed sheet. The bag was empty at that time, but now it is bulging and no one knows what is inside.

The morning air was filled with the fragrance of flowers, and birds chirped along the country roads.

Su Yue and Cang Zhi seemed to be just a sweet couple who had just had a pleasant tryst outside and were heading home.

"That dog was so cruel." Su Yue patted Cang Zhi's arm with emotion, "Fortunately, you were quick, Azhi, otherwise this arm would have been bitten off by it."

Cang Zhi smiled and said, "It is indeed much more powerful than those paper figures."

...This conversation is not peaceful at all.

"That's for sure," Su Yue said. "That dog is probably a rules-based monster, probably to prevent players from running out of the game range. It's only because it entered the village and was weakened that you can hold your own for a while. If it was in the mountains, it would probably kill anyone it hits with one blow."

After thinking for a while, he said, "Maybe it's just a bug."

"But it shouldn't be your opponent." Cang Zhi said.

Su Yue raised his eyebrows after hearing this, and smiled happily, "If I can use that sword, I should be able to defeat it, but if I use that sword, I will probably be warned madly."

At this point, Su Yue's smile became a little complicated again: "The current supervisor is a bit overly worried. It's better for me not to recruit him."

The puppet Cangzhi didn't know the complicated story between Su Yue and Supervisor Z, and smiled gently to show his agreement.

The two walked side by side towards the courtyard where the inn was located.

.

Last night, they were walking and got lost in a dreary fog.

Now that it's daybreak, I realize that this place is only separated from the inn's yard by two small paths.

The early morning was quiet and peaceful, with wisps of smoke rising from the farmyard.

If you look closely, you will find that there is smoke in some yards but not in others.

This means that no one is cooking in those yards anymore.

Is this the house where the paper villagers used to live?

Su Yue took out his cell phone.

He has always believed that mobile phones are the greatest invention of mankind. Although they have zero communication capabilities once you enter the gaming world, you can use them to take photos, take notes, and most importantly, play Snake when you are bored.

However, Su Yue had no plans to play Snake this time. He took out his phone and found the selfie he took with Cang Zhi in the valley before entering the village.

In the photo, the sky is filled with brilliant golden and red clouds frozen by the shutter. Su Yue and Cang Zhi are leaning their heads against each other, smiling brightly in the lower left corner of the picture.

The main scene of the photo is on the right side. The whole picture of Qiyun Village can be seen in the clouds, but some buildings are hidden in the lush treetops and misty clouds.

If you enlarge the photo, you can actually see it as a map.

Su Yue looked around and found a relatively high hill nearby. He pulled Cang Zhi to climb up. From here, they could barely see the whole picture of the village.

Su Yue enlarged the photo and, using the archway at the village entrance as a reference, quickly marked every house on the map where no smoke was coming out of it.

"Dear guests, what are you doing?" Just as Su Yue was busy marking, Yima's voice came through the morning mist.

Su Yue lowered his eyes and saw Yima standing at the fork in the road at the bottom of the slope.

She held the child in her arms and looked at them in amazement.

If Su Yue saw correctly, at the moment their eyes met, there was a hint of resentment in Yima's eyes that she had not had time to conceal.

.

Su Yue ignored Yima's expression. He saved the picture with most of it marked and took a quick look at it. As expected, the geographical locations of these houses were connected together to form a shape similar to a paper doll.

The tip of the doll's finger is in the southeast corner, which is obscured by clouds in the photo. Geographically, it is the small courtyard where they live.

Furthermore, the area on the doll's chest is completely obscured by the mist. This is the "Singing and Dance Square" where the Drum Tower, the Ancestral Hall, the Study, and other buildings are located. If Su Yue remembers correctly, the location of the heart should be the Ancestral Hall.

Yima was actually very fierce when she came over, and Su Yue didn't want to argue with her unless it was necessary. He locked his phone and put it back in his pocket. He supported himself with the big rock beside him and jumped down the slope lightly.

Ima asks what they are doing.

Su Yue started to talk nonsense: "Come out for morning exercise."

"But you just stood there motionless." Yima didn't believe it.

"I'm tired from morning exercise, so I took the opportunity to see the scenery with my boyfriend." Su Yue was calm and composed.

Yima's expression was a little speechless, but her eyes were staring suspiciously at the bundle made of bed sheets in his hand. Su Yue seemed to have completely ignored her little action and asked, "What about you? What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to say good morning to all the distinguished guests and then take everyone out for sightseeing," Ima said. "And by the way, I'd like to ask how everyone spent their night."

Su Yue: "I'm doing very well."

Emma: "..."

Yima forced a smile with an expression that said, "That's really bad." "That's great."

So, the lineup returning to the yard inexplicably became Su Yue, Cang Zhi and Yi Ma.

.

There was obviously a deep gap between Su Yue, Cang Zhi and Yima. The distance between them when walking was so great that an obstacle sign could be put down.

Yima is usually very talkative, but she didn't talk to them. She just glanced at the bag Su Yue was holding every few steps, as if she cared about it very much.

When Yima turned around for the sixth time, Su Yue raised his hand, deliberately lifting the bundle a little higher: "Why are you looking at it? What's the matter?"

"No, it's okay." Yima immediately denied, "What's in your bag?"

"Useless stuff." Su Yue replied, "If you ask me again, I'll burn it."

Yima didn't dare to speak.

Originally, he thought that the two of them and the NPC would maintain a somewhat awkward atmosphere until the start of the trip today. Unexpectedly, as soon as he entered the yard, Su Yue saw Zhao Shuo and Zhou Hu standing in the yard with pale faces and anxious expressions.

When they saw the lively Su Yue, they both felt relieved.

Especially Zhao Shuo, he felt so excited to see the intact and alive Su Yue that he almost fainted, but even though he was relieved, their faces still looked very bad.

Su Yue didn't understand what was going on, and Zhou Hu, with a pale face, said, "Boss! Someone's dead!"

Someone died?

Su Yue was startled and immediately ignored Yima and rushed upstairs.

.

I thought the boy was dead, but he was actually still alive. He was barely breathing, but he was definitely alive.

The dead person was a small person.

When he was found, he was lying on his back in the quilt, his body stiff and his eyes a cloudy gray.

The briefcase man discovered it when he woke up in the morning and didn't respond when he called him.

The briefcase tried to push it, and the little guy fell down with a "thump" like a tumbler.

Sitting in the living room on the third floor, Briefcase was on the verge of collapse. He covered his face and muttered incoherently, "Who have I offended? Why is it always my roommate? Is it just bad luck? Or am I just unlucky with my roommate? I can't take it anymore!"

The small paper doll had been taken out of his arms, and at some point the doll had grown into a doll with the same bright smile as Su Yue's.

Moreover, the two rouge-red spots on the doll's face are obviously much more lively than Su Yue's doll.

Perhaps the little guy has been "taken away" by the paper man and has become a soul sealed in the paper.

"What does this mean?" Briefcase muttered. "His doll was fine last night. Why did it suddenly become like this?"

No one could answer him.

Yima walked up the stairs slowly, leaned against the wall, and urged everyone with a smile.

Everyone can only start a new day's journey under the guidance of Yima.

.

The destination of the trip is still Gewuping, but the order of the tour has changed slightly compared to yesterday.

The first place they went to was the study, which was still in ruins, and then they went to the ancestral hall where the high priest was. The door of the ancestral hall was still closed.

"Can't we go in today?" Su Yue asked.

"Not today," Ima replied. "The High Priest is still angry today. We lost many friends yesterday."

"But I want to go in today. I have some questions to ask her." Su Yue said in a light tone, "I brought her a gift."

I don’t know why, the High Priest was angry, and Su Yue seemed to be angry too.

Yima was stunned for a moment: "The High Priestess only accepts three gifts: knowledge, wisdom and luck. Unless you can exchange these three things with her, otherwise..."

Su Yue ignored the NPC's lines and opened his bag with an expressionless face.

With a "crash", a white object fell to the ground.

Those with sharp eyes could see that it was a large bundle of paper dolls tied together with straw stems.

The paper dolls, dressed in local-style jackets and trousers, look exactly like the paper villagers. The top doll is holding a paper lantern.

Some of the paper dolls even had burn marks on them.

If you count again, you will find that there are as many paper dolls in Su Yue's hand as there were villagers who besieged Su Yue and his men at night.

Several tourists were stunned because these paper dolls looked almost the same as the paper dolls they had received, except for slightly different styles of clothes.

They didn't know where Su Yue got so many dolls from.

Yima was stunned.

Emma: "..."

Su Yue lightly hooked her toes, picked up the stack of paper dolls, and held them in her hand.

He casually held the stack of paper dolls as if he were holding hostages, looking at Yima calmly: "Why don't you go ask? I think if the priestess knew that her friends were in my hands, she would be quite willing to see me."
