Chapter 21 Buying a House

Jing Zhe said something indifferently, then turned and left.

Fatty and his friends glared at Goatee and immediately followed.

Seeing this, the man with the goatee panicked. Jing Zhe's behavior when buying saltpeter earlier made him think that he was a rich young master, so he once again made an outrageous demand. Unexpectedly, this time the man simply left!

"Wait! Young master, wait!"

The man with the goatee ran two steps quickly and, panting, blocked his way.

"Shopkeeper, it's not that I don't want to buy it, it's just too expensive!"

Jing Zhe shook his head.

"Young master, isn't business about give and take? Why don't you name a price and I'll go ask my friend?"

Jing Zhe held out his hand, "One price, twenty taels!"

"Twenty...taels?"

Jing Zhe's bargaining skills were so impressive that they completely stunned the man with the goatee.

I've seen people haggle down to half price, but this is even lower than half price... is it for real?

"Young master... isn't this too low?"

Jing Zhe spread his hands and said helplessly, "Actually, I didn't want to either, but I've been spending a lot of money lately, and I only have thirty taels of silver left."

"Thirty taels..."

The man with the goatee still didn't quite understand. "You clearly have thirty taels, so why are you bargaining down to twenty?"

Jing Zhe understood his confusion and said with a righteous expression, "Because I'm going to give the remaining ten taels of silver to the shopkeeper as a favor fee, I can't let you make a wasted trip!"

Upon hearing this, the man with the goatee burst into tears.
