Chapter 493

Chapter 493

This idea must have come from the shopkeeper.

She went inside and saw the shopkeeper sitting behind the counter with a worried look on his face.

Upon seeing her arrive, the shopkeeper quickly stood up: "Boss."

What happened?

The shopkeeper sighed, "Master, let's talk in private."

The two went to the courtyard and stopped in a secluded spot.

The shopkeeper finally had someone to confide in: "Boss, I've heard of this kind person's reputation before, but it was a free clinic before, and now it's a shop. These are two different things! This guy is really something else. He doesn't accept money from any poor family. I suggested we pay with our labor, but he said the clinic has enough staff now and he doesn't need any more!"

"Master, you paid money to hire me, I can't let you lose money for nothing!"

Seeing the shopkeeper's troubled expression, Yunxi smiled and said, "I won't hide it from you. Before I came to you, I specifically asked. The broker said you grew up in this area and know most of the people in Jizhou. You're good at judging people; you can tell whether someone is rich or poor at a glance."

"So I invited you here, not to make money for me."

The shopkeeper blinked: "Master, do you mean you want me to keep an eye on things and prevent anyone from taking advantage of us?"

Yunxi nodded slightly: "That's right."

"But... but this can't go on forever, can it?" The shopkeeper had a headache. "You don't know, some herbs are quite expensive. You can't keep doing business at a loss, can you?"

“It’s alright,” Yunxi shook her head. “Doctor Feng has his own set of principles. He’ll earn it back in time.”

As soon as she finished speaking, a magnificent carriage stopped outside, and a young man dressed in white was led in by two attendants.

That young man was exceptionally handsome, dressed in white as if untouched by the dust of the world, but it was obvious to the naked eye that he was in poor health, coughing every few steps.

Yunxi raised her chin, and the shopkeeper hurriedly went to greet her; "Young master, what brings you here—"

The young man in white coughed twice and said, "I heard that Doctor Feng is now seeing patients here, so I came here because of his reputation."

The shopkeeper quickly led the young man in white inside, and Yunxi followed him in.

Inside the room, Doctor Feng had just seen off a patient. He looked up, his gaze sweeping over the young man in white before landing on Yun Xi. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Oh, so you've finally decided to go out for a walk, girl?"

Yunxi smiled, pursing her lips.

Doctor Feng then looked at the young man in white: "Young master, you need not come here for a consultation, I can come to your door."

The young man in white shook his head, his voice cold: "A doctor treats the sick and saves lives; how can such precious time be wasted on me alone?"

Doctor Feng said no more and told him to put his hand on the pulse pillow.

After a long silence, Doctor Feng asked him to switch hands. Finally, he asked a series of questions, frowned and pondered for a moment before saying, "It can be cured, but it will take a long time, three to five years is inevitable."

Hearing this, before the young man in white could make a move, his attendant suddenly became excited: "You can really cure him?! Our young master has traveled to many places and consulted many famous doctors, all of whom said there was no cure. You can cure him?!"

"Yes, I can prescribe a prescription right now," Doctor Feng nodded, then raised his hand and gestured a number, "The consultation fee is five hundred taels."

As soon as he finished speaking, the shopkeeper's eyes widened in surprise.

How many? !

Five hundred taels?!

It's just a consultation fee?!
