Chapter 205 Moonlight Boat (9)

Chapter 205 Moonlight Boat (9)

Thinking of what his wife had told him about him and his daughter when they were in Beijing, Ming Weisu patted him on the shoulder and laughed out loud.

Ji Rangzhou coughed lightly, his intention to hide his true intentions becoming more obvious. "The main purpose is to see my cousin who is the magistrate of Yingnan County and ask him some questions."

"We should get to the bottom of this. Let Prince Jing be imprisoned in the Chaozhou Prefecture Prison for a while. You can go find your cousin. He played an indispensable role this time."

"Okay." After escaping Ming Weisu's teasing gaze, Ji Rangzhou looked at Ming Zhaohuan, "Jingyao, I brought you something."

Xing Zhao and Cheng Mian handed over the east and west to the wind and rain from heaven.

There were quite a lot of things. Mingzhao glanced at them and asked with a smile, "What are there so many of?"

"It's not just yours." Ji Rangzhou looked at him, and when he raised his eyes, his expression returned to normal. He then looked back at the elders, "I have to go to Gaozhou first and come back in a few days."

The old lady responded and asked Mingyuelin to see him off.

Ming Yuelin took the reins from Ming Zhouqing, climbed onto the horse, and raised his chin towards Ji Rangzhou, "Let's go."

Ji Rangzhou's eyes followed her movements, and he also took the horse he was riding and followed her.

Arriving at the village entrance, Ji Rangzhou reined in his horse and said, "I bought you some things you like. They're at your eldest brother's place."

"oh."

Hearing that her voice was not very satisfied, Ji Rangzhou drove his horse closer, reached out and patted her head, his eyes moving slightly, "I'm leaving."

There was some intentional teasing in his words.

Ming Yuelin pursed her lips and said, "You can go."

Ji Rangzhou leaned over, put his arm around her shoulders, and whispered in her ear, "I've been thinking about you, Xiaolin. I came here mainly to see you."

"I'll be back in a few days and have dinner with you before I leave."

Ming Yuelin was stunned for a moment, then his expression softened.

Ji Rangzhou let go of her and sat up straight, "Let's go back."

"Be careful on the road."

"Okay." He bent his lips slightly towards her, the curve was very obvious.

Ming Yuelin was a little dazed and blinked after his figure disappeared.

People who are rarely seen smiling look quite good when they smile.

She turned her horse around and returned to the village.

After handing the horse to a servant to take it away, Qi Yan came forward and handed her a letter, "Miss, the prince asked me to give it to you."

"Brother? Isn't he here? Why is he writing to me?" Ming Yuelin lowered his head and saw the familiar words "Qinwen Jingyao" on the envelope. Only then did he realize that the letter was written by Ji Rangzhou to Ming Zhaohan.

The letter had been opened, and Mingyuelin took out the letter paper inside and opened it.

"I heard that Prince Jing was causing chaos. Chaozhou is close to him. Is the ancestral home good?"

The letter was addressed to Mingzhao, but not a single word was addressed to him. Although it asked about the ancestral house, it was actually addressing the people in the house.

Mingyuelin folded the letter and put it back into the envelope with a smile on her face, then went to find Tianfeng and Tianyu to get the things Ji Rangzhou brought her.

Three days later, when Ji Rangzhou returned to the Ming family's ancestral home from Gaozhou, Mingyue had just woken up from a nap.

As she stepped out of the courtyard, she saw Ji Rangzhou, wearing a snow-white shirt, standing under a tree outside the courtyard with his back to her.

Mingyuelin ran up to him and asked happily, "When did you come back?"

"Not long ago." Ji Rangzhou lowered his eyes and fixed his gaze on her.

"Are you tired then?"

He shook his head.

"You've never been to our ancestral home. Can I take you for a walk?"

"Okay." Ji Rangzhou followed her and listened to her talk about her life in the ancestral home these days.

Ming Yuelin turned around and tugged at his sleeve, "Walk next to me."

This way she could look at him by turning her head.

Ji Rangzhou took a step forward silently.

Ming Yuelin turned around and hooked her fingertips on his sleeve, "Have you forgotten something?"

Ji Rangzhou stared at her eyes for a while, puzzled.

She took his hand and placed it on her head.

Ji Rangzhou was speechless. He moved his fingers, gently stroking the top of her head, then moved them down, and the tip of his index finger brushed the corner of her lips.

Mingyuelin opened her lips slightly and subconsciously tilted her head back a little.

Ji Rangzhou half-lowered his eyes and looked at her expression, silently concealing the darkness in his eyes.

His lips lifted slightly, and he stretched out his fingers slightly, placing the backs of his fingers on the side of her shoulder. "Let's keep going."

Ming Yuelin was quiet for a moment, turned around following his force, and took two steps forward.

Ji Rangzhou raised his hand and rubbed her head again, "Xiao Lin."

"Um?"

"Next time you want me to do something, just tell me."

Mingyuelin kicked a stone on the side of the road and didn't respond to him, but the smile between her eyebrows showed her good mood.

She took Ji Rangzhou for a walk around the ancestral home, and then took him to the village. She waited until the maid came to call them for dinner before returning.

There were many elders in the house, so they sat at one table, and the younger generations from the first and second houses also sat at one table.

After Ji Rangzhou went to the main table to pay his respects to several elders, he came and sat next to Ming Yuelin. Next to him was Ming Zhaohuan.

It was not good to watch openly, so Ming Yuelin quietly watched Ming Zhao return the pear and saw that he was also watching with gusto. When he saw him sitting over, he moved closer and whispered, "Ji Gudong, I want to eat mushrooms."

Ji Rangzhou said nothing, picked up the chopsticks and picked up some mushrooms from the distance for her.

Ming Zhouqing, who was sitting next to Ming Yuelin, looked at his sister, then at his elder brother, clicked his tongue twice in his heart, and looked at Ming Zhouhe, who was sitting next to Shi Jianli and was also tasked with picking up food for his sister.

The next morning, Ji Rangzhou set out for Chaozhou Prefecture, preparing to escort Prince Jing and his party back to the capital.

Mingyuelin rode to see him off.

After they were a little further out of the village, Ji Rangzhou nodded to signal Xing Zhao and Cheng Mian to stay away, then dismounted.

Then, he stretched out his hand towards Ming Yuelin, "Come down."

"What?" she asked, placing her hand on his palm.

Ji Rangzhou helped her down steadily, exerted force with his wrist, and pulled her forward two steps.

She was already close to him, and with these two steps she landed directly in his arms.

Mingyue subconsciously pressed her hand on his arm and bumped her forehead against his shoulder. The clear and slightly bitter scent of calamus lingered at the tip of her nose, leaving a quiet and sweet aftertaste.

Ming Yuelin looked up at him; his expression had not changed, and he still had an indifferent face.

Ji Rangzhou withdrew his gaze from her surprised eyes, glanced at her forehead, took out a pair of hibiscus beads from his sleeve, and carefully pinned them on both sides of her bun.

His breath was pervasive. Ming Yuelin stood obediently, but the scent of calamus, which was supposed to make people sober, made her feel dizzy and her cheeks felt a little hot.

After pinning the pearl flower, Ji Rangzhou stared at her for a few breaths, then bent his fingers, touched his thumb to her cheek, and gently rubbed it. "It's done."

"Oh." Mingyuelin nodded.

Seeing her confused look, the corners of her lips curved upwards. Ji Rangzhou touched her head and said, "Go back. Don't send me off."

Coming back to her senses from her daze, Ming Yuelin pursed her lips and snuggled into his embrace, her cheek pressed against his chest, and said in a muffled voice, "It's going to be a long time before we meet again. Hug me, Ji Gudong."

The heartbeat in his ear suddenly quickened for a moment, and Mingyuelin curved his eyes in satisfaction.

He usually had a blank expression on his face, so she couldn't tell what he was thinking. Her heartbeat was more honest.

The raised fingers curled up, Ji Rangzhou lowered his eyes, and seeing her happy expression, his eyes changed slightly. He leaned over, pressed her back and pressed her into his arms, tightening his arms.

"Xiao Lin, write to me."
