Chapter 33: Flying a Kite in the East Wind

Chapter 33: Flying a Kite in the East Wind

Aunt Shi frowned. "Is it because Madam hasn't told her yet, or is it because she didn't go to Madam's courtyard? Your father is here today, so Madam probably won't tell you. We'll know tomorrow, don't worry. Shi'er, have you had lunch yet?"

"Hmm." Ming Zhoushi restrained his expression, "Not yet."

"Then will you eat with your aunt today?"

"good."

Shi Jianli returned to the yard and put down the four wooden boards she was holding.

Huarong Road, also known as the Huarong Road of the Three Kingdoms, slides the chess pieces to allow Cao Cao to escape from Huarong Road. The simpler way to deploy the troops is "Cleverly Passing Five Gates", and the classics include "Drawing the Sword and Standing Horse", "Bings Approaching Cao's Camp", etc.

I have played a lot of Shi Jianli games, but I have never seen these versions.

After looking at them one by one, she put them down, prepared to play with them again when she had time, untied her hair and went for a nap.

After getting up, Shi Jianli asked Lanxing to prepare paints and brushes and went to the yard.

The spring scenery is bright and beautiful, and magnolia petals fall on her hair from time to time. She ignores the pears she sees and concentrates on coloring them.

Xianyue bought three styles of kites: ribbon butterfly, tailed koi and paper kite.

When the sky was full of rosy clouds, Ming Zhou, dressed in riding clothes and holding a snow-white rabbit, walked into Tangli Courtyard and raised his hand to stop Lan Xing and the others from greeting him.

He tiptoed and held the rabbit and sat down beside Shi Jianli. Seeing that she didn't notice, he watched her coloring.

When she picked up her pen, he asked, "Are you going to fly a kite tomorrow?"

Shi Jianli then noticed that there was someone beside her. She glanced sideways, smiled and nodded, "Well, my aunt said that I shouldn't be bored in the house. I should go out for a walk."

"You must obey whatever your aunt tells you to do." Ming Zhouhe took the pen from her hand, lifted the rabbit and held it in front of her. "Do you like it?"

Shi Jianli saw the rabbit and happily hugged it in her arms, "I like it. Did you go hunting today?"

"Yeah, I washed it with soap. It doesn't smell."

The rabbit jumped in Shi Jianli's arms. Shi Jianli lowered her eyes and pressed it down with her hands, "It's still a bit wild."

Ming Zhouhe smiled and said, "It is a wild animal after all."

He stood up, looked at the yard, pointed to the corner of the backyard and said, "Xuanyun, go buy a cage, find some hay, and make a rabbit hutch. Come back to Lingyan Pavilion when you're done."

"Yes, sir!"

Ming Zhouhe supported his waist with one hand and looked at Shi Jianli who was stroking the rabbit's fur. "I'm going to go back first. You can continue painting."

"Wait." Shi Jianli called him and then said behind him, "Lanxing, go inside and get the knee pads I sewed a few days ago. Xianyue, go to the courtyard of my younger sister Lin and my fourth sister and tell them that I'm inviting them to fly kites outside the city at noon tomorrow."

"yes."

Ming Zhouhe raised an eyebrow and folded his hands, saying, "You have to draw the clothing draft and look after the account books. You don't have to embroider the knee pads for me. Don't strain your neck."

"I made soup for my aunt, and she wouldn't tell me not to. She said she ate it for the thought." Shi Jianli snorted softly, looking up at him, "You always bring me things, I can't just give you nothing, right? It's just a set of knee pads, it's nothing."

"Okay, I'm the one who talks too much. I'll accept whatever you give me in the future. Wait until I find you a cousin-in-law before you refuse."

"That's more like it."

Ming Zhouhe took the knee pads handed to him by Lanxing with a smile and left.

The next morning, Shi Jianli wore a short shirt with a half-open front embroidered with peonies, a long skirt with a pattern of green plums and dark fish, and a tasseled pearl hairpin before going out.

Lanxing and Xianyue followed behind her, holding kites and spools of thread.

After meeting Mingyue Si, the two greeted each other and then walked out of the mansion.

Mingyuelin came over, the sound of bells ringing crisply and pleasantly. She looked at the kite in Lanxing's hand and said with a smile, "It's rare that you, Sister Li, take the initiative to ask us out to play. Usually I have to ask you out."

"Whenever you have time, go out for a spring outing. You said a couple of days ago that when summer comes, shouldn't we cherish the spring, take advantage of the east wind, and fly kites?" Shi Jianli said with a faint smile.

"That makes sense."

After getting on the carriage, Ming Yuelin asked, "My second and third brothers went hunting yesterday. When they came back, my second brother gave me a rabbit. He said rabbits come from the same litter. Do you have one too?"

Shi Jianli nodded.

Mingyue Si replied with delight in her tone, "Sixth Brother asked Zhou Guang, who was beside him, to bring the rabbit to my yard and even had someone build a nest for it."

They chatted and laughed all the way to the outskirts of the city, and then the three of them got off the carriage.

In the green, grassy open space, many people were chatting and laughing, some even flying kites. A woman had propped up a few pieces of cloth on branches, then used the cloth to create a relatively private area in which to talk.

There were many faces that Shijianli had seen at the flower-viewing party last time. When their eyes met, they nodded to each other as a greeting.

Shi Jianli beckoned Lanxing and Xianyue to bring the kites over, and said to Mingyuelin and Mingyuesi, "Which one do you like? Pick one, and I'll take the remaining one."

"I want the butterfly." Ming Yuelin pointed, "Sister Li, when I saw this koi kite, I thought of the day you were hit by a fish."

Shi Jianli glanced at her lightly and said, "Don't mention it anymore."

She covered her face with the kite and tilted her head to one side, leaving only her eyes exposed. Her eyes curved, "Okay."

Mingyuesi, with a smile on her face, pointed at the koi fish and said, "So, to stop Sister Li from being nostalgic, I'll take this."

Upon hearing this, Xianyue gave the koi to Mingyuesi, and Shijianli took the kite.

When flying a kite with the moon in its mouth, you can see Pear rolling up the string and sending the kite into the clear sky.

The spring breeze blew over, and the strands of hair on her temples brushed across the corners of her eyes. Shi Jianli looked at the kite flying higher and higher, and a smile appeared at the corners of her lips.

Seeing Mingyuelin's butterfly flying higher and higher at a very fast speed, Shi Jianli reminded: "Be careful, the line may break."

When Mingyuelin heard this, he stopped letting out the string and turned around to pull the string, making the butterfly move.

Shi Jianli stared at her butterfly for a while, and suddenly felt the strength in her hands become heavier. She turned around and saw that her kite was entangled by someone else's kite, which was a tiger.

The two entangled kites were uncontrollably entwining with another colorful green kite that was gradually rising.

Shi Jianli pulled the string but it didn't move.

She looked at Lanxing and Xianyue, "Let's go see whose kite is tangled, so we can work together to reel in the line and let it go."

"yes."

Seeing this, Mingyuelin and Mingyuesi also asked their maids to help.

Soon, several maids came back and said that they had found the people. The tiger belonged to Xie Xuezhi, and the colorful kite belonged to Zheng Leyun, the eldest daughter of the Minister of Justice.

Shi Jianli looked at Xie Xuezhi who was walking towards her, blinked to hide the thoughts in her eyes, and thought that there were too many coincidental encounters.

It makes people feel a little upset for no reason.

She remembered that at first, there was no one else's butterfly beside her kite except Mingyuelin's.

Xie Xuezhi was very surprised when she saw Shi Jianli. "Miss Shi, what a coincidence! I didn't expect to accidentally get caught on your kite. I'm so sorry."

"Yeah." Shi Jianli responded coldly, looking at Zheng Leyun who was coming over from behind, "Sorry, can we reel it in together?"
