Chapter 216: Evening Breeze (6)
His gaze slowly fell on her face again. "I clearly sent the invitation to your house yesterday, but your fiancée doesn't seem to care much about me."
"I'm ready." Hearing his words, Lin Tingwan was caught off guard and put on a big hat. She lowered her head and took out the black hairband from her purse, and handed it to him with both hands. "I haven't decided when to give it to you."
She was always led away by him, and when she was about to give it to him, he asked her something else.
Ming Zhouhe reached out and took the black hairband from her hand with a smile, biting it between his teeth. He raised one hand to pull off the hairband tied in her hair, and with the other hand he grabbed the black hair that was originally tied high, and then tied it with the hairband she had just given him.
He had not yet reached adulthood, but he still had the high hair style common among young men, often tied with a hairband.
Lin Tingwan stared blankly. Perhaps her vision was not clear enough, and the dim light gave her courage. She was unable to look away for a long time.
After casually throwing the original hairband into the secret compartment, Ming Zhouhe raised his eyes and smiled at her: "Does it look good?"
She nodded: "It looks good."
He smiled and asked, "Can you tell if it's a good stitch in this little light? You have pretty good eyesight."
Lin Tingwan turned away her eyes, and after a moment, with red ears, she said boldly: "It looks good no matter what. You are beautiful."
He was teasing her on purpose.
Ming Zhouhe smiled again: "Thank you for the compliment."
Half joking and half chatting, they finally arrived at the Lantern Festival, and Ming Zhou and He were the first to go down.
Before he could make his next move, someone in the car lifted the curtain. A pair of bright eyes, reflecting the light, hid their shyness in the night, looked at him and stretched out their hand.
Seeing the joy and anticipation in her eyes, Ming Zhou and Di Mou smiled softly, took her hand and led her down.
As early as before the New Year when he went to the Lin residence to pay New Year's gifts, he noticed that there was a different emotion in her eyes when she looked at him. It was different from the bold excitement when they looked at each other unexpectedly for the first time, and it was also different from the ease when they played polo together for the second time. There was a little more excitement in her shyness and nervousness.
After she landed and stood up, Ming Zhouhe withdrew his hand. "Later, there will be fireworks on the shore of Taiyuan Lake. There will be variety shows on the streets below the major restaurants and inns along the lake. Several restaurants in the south have set up lantern riddles. Where would you like to go first?"
Lin Tingwan thought for a moment and asked, "Shall we go guess the lantern riddles first?"
"Okay, but let me make it clear in advance. I'm a military commander, not very talented or well-educated. I'm not good at writing couplets, so I can't defeat the King of Lanterns."
"I didn't let you defeat the King of Lights." After chatting all the way, Lin Tingwan relaxed a lot.
Ming Zhouhe glanced at her and smiled, "It's not bad to win a small lantern."
Stopping in front of a huge wall of lanterns, Ming Zhouhe asked her which one she liked. He glanced at the riddles and guessed a rabbit lantern.
After guessing the riddles, Ming Zhou and Lin Tingwan took a walk around the Lantern Market. There were many stalls on both sides and it was very lively.
When we walked to the edge of Taiyuan Lake, after the sound of drums and fireworks, the night sky became silent, with only the spring breeze and the sound of random conversations surrounding our ears.
Ming Zhou and Pian Tou looked at the girl who was watching the fireworks intently and asked, "Which is more lively, the Lantern Festival in Jiangnan or the Lantern Festival in Beijing?"
Lin Tingwan withdrew her gaze from the disappearing fireworks, tilted her head to meet his gaze, and replied without much thought: "Beijing."
Jiangnan has been prosperous since ancient times, but this year's Lantern Festival was happier than the ones she had spent in Jiangnan in previous years.
Many times when fireworks were soaring into the sky and the flames were shining, she would secretly look at him, feeling secretly happy in her heart.
"Yeah." Ming Zhouhe nodded, indicating that he heard it. When she looked away, he said something shocking: "No need to look at me secretly. You can look at me openly."
Lin Tingwan gripped the handle of the lantern tightly in her hand and turned her head suddenly. The night covered her cheeks, which had suddenly turned red.
He crossed his arms and leaned closer, "Always watching me secretly, curious about me?"
Lin Tingwan shook his head subconsciously, then nodded stiffly.
"What does it mean to shake your head and then nod?" Ming Zhouhe chuckled, asking without letting her answer. He reached out and hooked his index finger around the other end of the lantern handle in her hand, the lower end of which was the lantern's rope. "People are retreating this way. Be careful not to get separated."
Lin Tingwan took a deep breath and Mumu followed him.
Why can't I think tonight? It's obviously not like this usually.
We have almost finished our tour and seen everything we should see, so Ming Zhou and Jiang will send the people back.
There are many people traveling tonight, and the carriages are a bit congested on the streets.
Sitting in the carriage, Ming Zhou drank cold tea, occasionally bringing up topics to chat with Lin Tingwan, occasionally teasing her, and it was quite interesting to see her blushing face in the dim light.
After leaving the Lantern Festival, the carriage moved faster.
Arriving at the gate of the Lin residence, Ming Zhou and Jiang Lin Tingwan helped him down and asked, "Are you happy tonight?"
Lin Tingwan, whose heartbeat had quickened so many times that he couldn't remember how many times, nodded: "I'm very happy."
"As long as you are happy, it's late, let's go back."
Lin Tingwan nodded and said, "Be careful on your way back."
"good."
Ming Zhouhe watched her go in and was about to turn around when he saw her sticking her head out from the gate, waving at him and then retracting it.
He lowered his eyes, a smile pouring from his brows.
After a while, Lin Tingwan ran out from the door, stood in front of him, and asked with a blushing face: "Can I ask you to go out for a spring outing on the next day off?"
Ming Zhou and Zang smiled, lowered their eyes to study her expression, pondered for a moment, and teased her: "Who are you?"
"Hmm?" He let out a puzzled sound. Then, reacting, Lin Tingwan's eyes widened slightly and he bit his lip: "Zhou He, is this okay?"
He smiled: "Of course you can."
She turned around uncomfortably, wanting to escape.
Ming Zhouhe grabbed her sleeve and said, "It's not a good habit to leave a conversation in the middle. When is the appointment?"
"Si time."
"Okay, I'll come find you." He let go.
Lin Tingwan trotted into the mansion.
He was too much of a teaser and she was no match for him.
Yu Ling, who was waiting at the door, saw her running back and walking towards the mansion with her head covered. She scratched her head and asked, "Miss, why are you walking so fast?"
Lin Tingwan didn't respond to her. He let the night breeze cool his cheeks and calm his mind.
Ming Zhouhe returned home and happened to see Ming Zhao bringing back the Shijian pears.
Shi Jianli saw him and looked him over. "My cousin seems to be in a good mood. It seems he had a great time hanging out with Tingwan."
Ming Zhou has always been thick-skinned. "Well, my second sister couldn't help but tell you some gossip about me again?"
"Cousin, don't get to know Sister Lin too well."
After chatting for a few words, Ming Zhou and returned to their own yard.
After the Lantern Festival, Ming Zhou and he went to court as usual, and occasionally drank with Ming Zhou when he came back.
I thought I would not be able to see Lin Tingwan again until the next holiday, but unexpectedly, a few days later, she came to visit my house.
Xuan Yuan, who had returned from the camp outside the capital and stayed at the mansion, said, "Sir, the Second Miss invited Second Miss Lin and Fifth Miss Yu to the mansion today. They are in the garden now. Would you like to go and take a look?"
