Chapter 194 If the relationship lasts (30)
Mingzhao still held the necklace in his hand, which still had her body temperature, and said, "Okay, I'm leaving."
"Yeah." Shi Jianli watched his back disappear into the night before returning to the house.
The days when Mingzhao was not in the capital passed slowly. Shi Jianli was occasionally called into the palace by Princess Kangning to accompany her, and occasionally went out to play with Zheng Leyun.
Prince Jing was plotting a rebellion, and the powerful people in the capital were afraid to offend him. They were very cautious and behaved in a low profile, so there were no banquets from June to September.
Because of Princess Kangning, Shi Jianli got to know Yu Yiluo from the Jining Marquis' Mansion and Lin Tingwan from the Right Army Governor's Mansion, and they would occasionally make appointments to play polo with them for fun.
In August, upon hearing that the rebellion in Gaozhou had been quelled, the emperor ordered Ming Weishen to go to Chaozhou with Ji Rangzhou, who had taken over the escort. Shi Jianli breathed a sigh of relief.
On September 13th, Mingzhao arrived in Beijing first on a flying horse.
Shi Jianli was admiring chrysanthemums in Princess Kangning's mansion. After leaving the mansion, she saw Ming Zhaohuan and ran towards him in surprise, "Did you just get back?"
"Yes." Mingzhao's palm landed skillfully on the top of her head, "I'll take you back. Let's go."
"Okay~" Shi Jianli followed him and turned to look at him from time to time.
Mingzhao raised the corners of his lips, helped her onto the carriage, and then bent down to get in himself.
Seeing that she was staring at him intently, Mingzhao smiled and took out the peace necklace she had given him before they left, and tied it back around her neck. "Thank you for the necklace, Yaoyao."
"Are you hurt?"
"No." Mingzhao pinched her face and said, "It's been three months since we last met. Did you miss me, Yaoyao?"
Shi Jianli tilted her head and put her cheek on the back of his hand, "I think so."
Mingzhao's heart softened, "I miss Yaoyao too."
So I rushed day and night to come back to see her as soon as possible.
Shi Jianli's eyes moved and she stretched out her hand towards him, "Then give me a hug?"
"Okay." Mingzhao smiled and leaned over to hold her in his arms, his chin resting lightly on her shoulder, feeling satisfied.
Shi Jianli leaned in his arms, feeling his body temperature, hugged him back, and asked, "Did you come back alone again this time?"
Her warm breath fell on his neck, and Mingzhao's throat tightened slightly. "Well, I missed you, so I came back early."
"Are you tired then?"
"I don't feel tired anymore when I see Yaoyao." Mingzhao let her go, sat up straight, lowered his eyes to stare into hers, and tapped her fingertips, "Can I hold your hand?"
Shi Jianli curled her fingers, pursed her lips and placed her hand in his palm, and then was completely wrapped by his hand.
He smiled silently and pulled her closer, "Yaoyao."
"Um?"
"Are you happy to see me today?"
"Glad." She replied with a crooked look, and shook his hand again, squeezing her fingers between his fingers, "Very happy."
Mingzhao's eyes darkened slightly. He raised his other hand to touch her cheek and leaned over again.
Shi Jianli's eyelashes trembled, and she suddenly felt a little nervous.
He lowered his head and gently pressed his cheek against hers, but they separated in an instant.
She blinked and glanced at him with a puffy face.
Mingzhao chuckled softly, and with the fingers that were caressing her cheeks, he poked down her puffed-up face, "Yaoyao, I want to marry you."
Shi Jianli twisted her head and "rescued" her face from his hands, "Well, you have to discuss this with my parents."
"Does discussing this with your parents mean that Yaoyao also wants to marry me?"
"No answer." She turned her head away.
"Well, if Yaoyao doesn't want to answer, then don't answer."
Shi Jianli pulled her hand back from his palm, touched the wall of the carriage, opened the compartment, and there was indeed tea inside. She took it out, put it on the small table, and poured out a cup.
The tea was still warm, so she picked it up and handed it to him, "Cousin Jingyao, are you thirsty?"
Mingzhao still lowered his head, drank the tea from her hand, and looked up at her.
Shi Jianli pulled her hand back.
Glancing at the thin red on the tip of her ear, Mingzhao smiled and took the cup from her hand. Then he replaced it with another cup, poured her a glass, and handed it to her lips, "Yaoyao, are you thirsty?"
Shi Jianli subconsciously drank a sip and said, "I'm not thirsty."
Hearing this, he withdrew his arm and drank the tea in his hand.
Shi Jianli couldn't help but look at him. She stared at his rolling Adam's apple for a while, then silently looked away.
Mingzhao put down the cup and held her fingers, "Do you have a date tomorrow?"
"No."
"Then stay with me tomorrow? I'll pick you up this afternoon."
"Okay." Shi Jianli moved a little towards him and rested her head on his shoulder. "Are my aunt and sister Lin okay?"
Mingzhao even patted her head and said with a smile, "Very well, you should be able to reach Beijing in a few days."
The carriage stopped in front of Shi Mansion, and Mingzhao helped her down, "Go back."
"Aren't you coming in?"
"I've already greeted my uncle and aunt. It was only after asking my aunt that I learned that you went to Princess Kangning's residence. I have some things to do, so I won't go in."
"Oh, okay, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
At the end of September, the entire Anguo family arrived in Beijing. Shi Jianli followed Mingzhao to the Ten-Li Pavilion to meet them, and sat next to Qiao Ruoying to express her longing for them.
After resting for a few days, Yuan Yuhe came to discuss the wedding date with Qiao Ruowei, and the wedding date was finally set on March 15th of the following year.
Before going to Chaozhou, Qiao Ruoying had already arranged marriages for several of her concubines' sons and daughters, but Ming Zhouhe was still a headache for her.
In October, the emperor made up for the autumn hunting that had been postponed due to the plot of rebellion. Shi Jianli and Ming Zhao won the championship of the women's and men's autumn hunting respectively, and the emperor rewarded them generously.
The emperor praised Shi Jianan, "Shi Qing, you are a civil official, how come you raised a daughter who is so outstanding in riding and shooting? She is in no way inferior to the daughters of military generals."
"Your Majesty has forgotten that before I passed the imperial examination, I was a hunter for a living, and I had some talent for hunting."
Shortly after the autumn hunt, Qiao Ruoying married Ming Zhou to Lin Tingwan, the second daughter of the deputy governor of the Right Army.
Seeing her aunt heaving a sigh of relief, Shi Jianli found it a little funny. "Aunt, are you finally relieved now?"
When she came here for a stroll recently, her aunt often caught her and asked her about the girls from different families.
"Finally, your cousin's marriage is settled. I'm so relieved." Qiao Ruoying looked up at the sky. "It looks like it's going to snow soon. Li'er, why don't you stay here tonight? Your cousin and his friends are out hunting today. There should be some rabbits. I'll make you some snowballs."
"Okay, I also want to eat roasted meat." Shi Jianli nodded.
After staying with Qiao Ruoying for a while, Shi Jianli prepared to go to the East Palace to visit Mingyuelin. When she stepped onto the corridor leading to the garden, she saw Mingzhao coming from the other side. The light passed through the corridor and wandered over him, and his figure gradually became clearer.
When she saw him, she happily trotted towards him, "Cousin Jingyao, you're back."
It happened to be the first snowfall, and Piaopiao swayed along behind her.
Mingzhao still smiled and touched her head, "Well, where are you going?"
"It's snowing." Shi Jianli looked up at the sky, then looked at him and said with a smile, "Go play with Sister Lin. But now that you're back, I can follow you. Where are you going?"
