Chapter 26 Blockade
After arriving at the restaurant, the two of them sat opposite Ding Xinye politely.
Ding Xinye frowned at the two of them and asked, "Why are you both so idle?"
Chu Yunqi didn't move his upper body, but stepped on Zhou Jingzhan's shoes under the table.
"Not very busy this morning." Zhou Jingzhan replied.
Ding Xinye nodded perfunctorily and started talking about business: "There is a question I have wanted to talk about for a long time, but I never had the chance. Today I have to talk to you in detail."
"You say."
"It's not a big problem. It's just your attitude towards colleagues and patients. I think you need to improve. Smile more and make patients feel warm. Don't have a cold face all day long."
Chu Yunqi lowered his head and tried to suppress his laughter. He never thought that one day these words would come out of Ding Xinye's mouth.
Zhou Jingzhan was very confused. Ding Xinye, who couldn't smile, was asked to smile more. Isn't this embarrassing? "Teacher, I'm used to it now. It's hard to change."
"You're only in your twenties, what's so hard about changing? It's hard to change at my age. After all these years, I deeply regret it now. You have to know that medical care without care is cold, so you have to become warmer."
"Don't worry, uncle. I'm good at this. I'll help you keep an eye on him and make sure he smiles and shows some humanity."
Ding Xinye glanced at him suspiciously: "Have you solved his mysophobia problem?"
Chu Yunqi didn't feel guilty at all, and he touched Zhou Jingzhan all over: "Look, he can tolerate me being so excessive, he must have changed for the better."
Zhou Jingzhan slapped away Chu Yunqi's hand that was openly touching him: "Stop touching me."
Ding Xinye nodded doubtfully, and then talked about the project that Zhou Jingzhan was in charge of.
Soon the three of them finished their meal. Ding Xinye left first. Chu Yunqi stopped Zhou Jingzhan and said, "I promised my uncle that I would make you more humane, so you have to cooperate with me."
Zhou Jingzhan let Chu Yunqi take his watch and asked tiredly, "How can I cooperate?"
Chu Yunqi put the watch on his own hand, took it off and threw it to Zhou Jingzhan, and said confidently: "Tomorrow is Ji Hong's birthday, buy him a gift." As he said that, he found a luxury store next to him and said: "Let's go there."
"No, it's expensive."
Chu Yunqi patted his shoulder and said, "Based on Ji Hong's usual food and clothing, as well as what he told me about his family situation, he's not someone who's short of money, so he can afford the gift, don't worry."
"You're quite observant." Zhou Jingzhan said sarcastically, then added, "I won't send you off, I'll send you off if I want."
Chu Yunqi dragged him into the store. Zhou Jingzhan seemed uninterested and kept sitting on the sofa listening to the salesperson's chatter. Five minutes later, two salespeople stood in front of him in a row, with a dozen ties draped over their arms.
"Which one is suitable for Ji Hong? Pick one and give it to him."
Zhou Jingzhan pointed to one at random.
"Then please wrap these up. The one he just pointed at should be gift-wrapped."
The two salesmen went to check out happily.
Zhou Jingzhan looked at him expressionlessly: "Are you really so short of a tie?"
Chu Yunqi had a good reason: "The more the better."
Next, Chu Yunqi took out Zhou Jingzhan’s bank card and entered the password with ease. Zhou Jingzhan secretly thought about changing the password.
In the afternoon, Zhou Jingzhan went to the outpatient clinic as usual. Chu Yunqi was thinking about life when suddenly nurse Li Xin pushed open the office door and said, "Professor Chu, there's a patient in the emergency room. Please go and see him."
After Chu Yunqi arrived at the emergency room, he was lucky not to run into Fan Tonggui. Instead, he ran into his college classmate Yang Hengyun. He didn't recognize him, but Yang Hengyun recognized him first: "Chu Yunqi!?"
"Are you... Yang Hengyun?" Chu Yunqi said as he took off his badge and put it in his pocket.
"It's me, it's me." Yang Hengyun was extremely excited to see him and had many questions to ask, but the patient's condition was not good at the moment, so he could only get down to business first: "I just checked, the chest cavity is collapsed, the breath sounds on the left side have disappeared, and the trachea is displaced."
While he was talking, Chu Yunqi performed closed chest drainage on the patient. As soon as he finished, the patient coughed up a mouthful of blood that splashed onto his hands.
Chu Yunqi didn't pay much attention because of the gloves. He glanced at the monitor and found that his blood oxygen level was constantly dropping. "Where are the family members?"
"Not yet. I'm on my way to the hospital."
"It's too late. I'll go get Dean Su's signature for the surgery." Chu Yunqi took off his gloves and threw them away as he spoke. He then took out his phone and called Director Qin. "Hello, Director Qin, we have an emergency patient with hemothorax and massive hemoptysis. There's a large amount of air in the closed drainage system, as well as a subcutaneous hematoma. There's suspected tracheal damage. We need a thoracotomy to investigate the cause of the bleeding."
Qin Jingda immediately put down his work and went to the operating room, asking, "Why don't you go?"
Chu Yunqi helped push the bed to send the patient to the operating room. During this time, the blood coughed up by the patient once again splashed onto his hand which had been injured and had received an IV yesterday. He stopped and turned back to wash his hands, explaining: "I scratched my hand two days ago. It's not very convenient. Besides, I'm not very good at surgery. I'm sorry to bother you." After that, he hung up the phone and washed his hands carefully.
Qin Jingda didn't waste any time and quickly entered the operating room. Before the operation began, the operating room nurse came in to explain the situation: "Director Qin, the patient's family just called to say that he is an HIV carrier. The operating room needs to be re-disinfected."
Qin Jingda was just a little surprised when he heard the news, and didn't have any thoughts: "Yeah."
When the nurse was about to leave, Qin Jingda suddenly remembered that the patient was suffering from severe hemoptysis and was treated by Chu Yunqi. He had a wound on his hand, and HIV can be transmitted through blood!
Thinking of this, Qin Jingda became a little worried and asked the nurse to tell Chu Yunqi the news.
Chu Yunqi had just come out of Dean Su's office when he learned the news. For a moment, his mind was a little confused, and he clenched his hands, which had just been washed a few minutes ago.
After hanging up the phone, Chu Yunqi, who valued his life, immediately took a taxi to Union Hospital to get blocking drugs.
The two hospitals were far apart, and it was already six o'clock when Chu Yunqi returned. Zhou Jingzhan also returned to the office, but did not see Chu Yunqi. He felt strange and asked Ji Hong, "Where is Chu Yunqi?"
Ji Hong knew about the relationship between the two, and noticed that Zhou Jingzhan treated Chu Yunqi differently, so he didn't know how to start the conversation at this moment.
Zhou Jingzhan had little patience to begin with, so seeing that he was wasting time, he turned around and asked Luo Zixi.
"There was an AIDS patient in the emergency room this afternoon, and Brother Yunqi saw him..." Luo Zixi didn't explain it too clearly, just enough to get the point across.
Zhou Jingzhan could already guess the second half of her sentence from her expression. He said nothing and calmly called Chu Yunqi: "Where are you?"
"I just got the blocking medicine. I'm not going back to the hospital. I'm going straight home." Chu Yunqi answered calmly. Zhou Jingzhan didn't say anything for a long time. He sighed softly, "I'm really fine. Don't worry."
Zhou Jingzhan said in a muffled voice: "I still have an operation to perform. I'll come find you after it's over."
"Well, thank you for your hard work. I'll wait for you at home."
At half past nine, Zhou Jingzhan came out of the operating room and started to feel dizzy again, but he didn't care.
As they passed the nurses' station, Li Xin stopped him and said, "Director Zhou, the family of the patient who had surgery on Director Qin today has arrived and specifically asked that you be in charge of his son."
Zhou Jingzhan was so annoyed that he had no time to deal with anyone else except Chu Yunqi: "Tell him I don't have time."
