Chapter 32 Rose

Chapter 32 Rose

Zhou Jingzhan and his grandfather met at the door of the restaurant. Zhou Qing smiled when he saw him and said, "My dear grandson, grandpa knew you were the most obedient.

As soon as the two of them sat down in the private room, Zhou Qing's driver came in with a big bouquet of roses. Zhou Jingzhan had a very bad feeling.

Facts proved that this was indeed the case. Zhou Qing took down the blank greeting card from the roses and placed it in front of Zhou Jingzhan. He then took out a pen from his pocket and gave it to him, saying kindly, "Come on, write quickly. You won't be able to write when people arrive later."

Zhou Jingzhan refused with a cold face: "I won't write." Then he looked at the bouquet of flowers with disdain: "You can give the flowers yourself."

Zhou Qing patted the back of his head: "What are you talking about, kid? Why should I give him flowers?"

Zhou Jingzhan asked back, "Then what's the point of me sending him roses? My relationship with him doesn't require sending roses."

As soon as he finished speaking, Chu Jun and Chu Yunqi arrived. After the two old men greeted each other, they couldn't stop talking and seemed to have forgotten the two living people beside them.

Chu Yunqi looked at Zhou Jingzhan expressionlessly, then stepped over him and sat down. Zhou Qing finally realized his "business", stood up and pulled Zhou Jingzhan to his side, secretly poking and pushing with his hands, signaling him to take the initiative.

Zhou Qing was too harsh, and Zhou Jingzhan could no longer bear it. He picked up the bouquet of flowers and walked in front of Chu Yunqi, saying "Happy Birthday" reluctantly.

Chu Yunqi said thank you indifferently, took the flowers and put them aside.

The flowers that Zhou Qing had carefully prepared played a very small role before he was hurriedly dismissed.

Because of their little problem, the two old men tried hard to bring up the topic, but in the end Chu Yunqi and Zhou Jingzhan did not have any direct communication.

Just when the two of them were having a headache, Qin Huiping arrived. As soon as she entered the door, she saw Zhou Jingzhan and Chu Yunqi were far apart.

Chu Yunqi's mother had an emergency surgery and couldn't come. After everyone who should have arrived had arrived, the youngest Zhou Jingzhan went to pour wine as usual.

Unlike before, this time he poured it for Chu Yunqi as well.

Chu Yunqi seemed to be angry with him, and he didn't care whether he could drink it or not, he drank as long as he needed to.

Chu Yunqi left the table halfway through the meal.

Three minutes later, Zhou Jingzhan, fearing that he might get into trouble due to drinking too much, also made an excuse to leave.

He didn't plan to look for Chu Yunqi, so he just stood at the bathroom door and waited.

After a while, he saw Chu Yunqi washing his hands through the crack in the door. He seemed to be in good condition, so Zhou Jingzhan felt relieved and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, Xia Baiming's gossiping voice came from inside the room: "Tsk, why are you here too? Aren't you angry today? Why didn't you spend time with Zhou Jingzhan?"

Chu Yunqi didn't show any surprise, and explained unhappily: "My family is here."

Xia Baiming frowned, feeling anxious for him: "No...you haven't reconciled yet? If you don't seize such a good opportunity today, when will you make the most of it? It's just a cold war, isn't it? It's so easy for two grown men to resolve their issues. Just drink some wine, go home and roll into bed in a daze, and everything will be fine when you wake up. Just listen to me, this trick will definitely work." As he spoke, he took out a small transparent bag from his pocket, which contained a white powdery substance.

It was definitely not something serious. Chu Yunqi's smile was filled with a rare bandit spirit: "Why are you giving it to me? Why not give it to Zhou Jingzhan?"

Xia Baiming said bluntly: "He would never do such a dirty thing."

Chu Yunqi wanted to get angry with him at that time, but Xia Baiming's phone rang. Zhou Jingzhan felt guilty and left quickly.

Before leaving, Xia Baiming stuffed something into Chu Yunqi's suit pocket.

On the way back to the box, Chu Yunqi figured it out, and he mercifully forgave Zhou Jingzhan this time, after all, there was still a long way to go.

Zhou Jingzhan stared at Chu Yunqi as he returned to his seat, his eyes full of suspicion.

After that, Chu Yunqi became noticeably more talkative, making the elders present happy. When Zhou Jingzhan was about to stand up to pour the wine, he ran over and offered his courtesy: "Let me do it."

When it was Zhou Jingzhan's turn, the wine had just run out. Chu Yunqi opened a new bottle and happily went to pour him a drink, but Zhou Jingzhan refused: "I have to go to work tomorrow, so I won't drink."

Chu Yunqi was puzzled. Zhou Jingzhan had always been able to drink a thousand cups without getting drunk. When had he become so pretentious? Furthermore, he was a little tipsy from the wine he had just drunk, so his sense of propriety had dropped significantly. He stubbornly continued to pour more wine.

Zhou Jingzhan frowned and grabbed Chu Yunqi's wrist in time, his voice a little angry: "I said I don't want to drink."

Seeing Zhou Jingzhan's expression was off, Chu Jun eased the atmosphere: "Young people should really focus on their work. Since you have to go to work tomorrow, don't drink."

Seeing that he was about to offend Chu Yunqi, Qin Huiping was busy trying to smooth things over for her silly son: "Today is your brother Yunqi's birthday, everyone is happy, and the two grandfathers are here too, so why don't you have a drink with them."

Zhou Jingzhan paused for half a second as he looked at the strong liquor in Chu Yunqi's hand: "The alcohol content is too high. I'll have beer instead."

Chu Yunqi was a little slow to react, and it took him a long time to understand what he meant. He went back to his seat and sat there obediently. Zhou Jingzhan knew that he was drunk.

After the end, Chu Yunqi was entrusted to Zhou Jingzhan.

Zhou Jingzhan was so angry that he almost died.

Not only was Chu Yunqi's legs and feet not very handy, but he also insisted on holding the bouquet of flowers. Zhou Jingzhan struggled to help him into the back seat, and his movements were a bit rough.

Chu Yun raised his arm and knocked his head against the car door, sobering up a lot: "You don't look happy today, what's wrong?"

Zhou Jingzhan rarely obeyed traffic rules and drove home by himself, replying sarcastically, "I'm fine. You should be the one who's upset. You tried to plot against me but failed. Do you regret it?"

Chu Yunqi thought for three minutes before coming to his senses. He extended the small transparent bag to the front row and showed it to him: "Are you talking about this?"

Zhou Jingzhan took a glance and was shocked. The bag was obviously not touched by anyone. He was stunned for a few seconds: "You..."

Having drunk quite a bit of wine, Chu Yunqi was slow to react and spoke slowly: "I won't hurt you."

Chu Yunqi has this ability. Even though he did nothing, he could always move Zhou Jingzhan with just a few words.

Sometimes Zhou Jingzhan himself couldn’t figure out why he liked Chu Yunqi.

Suddenly, Chu Yunqi pulled off a rose petal and played with it, muttering, "You only gave me five."

Since they confirmed their relationship, Zhou Jingzhan always sent only five flowers. Chu Yunqi always teased him that he was too stingy. Zhou Jingzhan could be said to be an insulator of romance, and he knew nothing about sweet words or surprises. The only romance he showed every year was to send Chu Yunqi five roses on his birthday.

It was a long time later that Chu Yunqi found out that the reason he chose to send flowers on his birthday was because they confirmed their relationship on Chu Yunqi's birthday.

The number five corresponds to Zhou Jingzhan's five-year-long secret crush on others that he endured and restrained.

He has been making up for the five years he missed in his own way.

"Grandpa bought it."

"...Do you hate me?"

Thinking about what Chu Yunqi had done, Zhou Jingzhan felt that he should dislike or even hate him, but he found that he couldn't do it: "I don't."
