Chapter 62 Raising a Cat
Zhou Jingzhan had been waiting at his doorstep. At three o'clock in the morning, the driver finally saw a car parked in front of the villa, and the person who got out of the car was Chu Yunqi.
The driver carefully and anxiously woke Zhou Jingzhan up. After seeing the man clearly, Zhou Jingzhan got out of the car quickly and successfully stopped him before the door closed.
To be honest, Chu Yunqi was a little scared at that moment. Who knew Zhou Jingzhan would appear inexplicably.
Zhou Jingzhan pushed the half-drowsy Chu Yunqi into the house. The smart home lights automatically turned on. Chu Yunqi reacted and asked, "Why are you here?"
"If you can come, why can't I?"
Chu Yunqi was so sleepy that he couldn't open his eyes. He really didn't have the energy to argue with Zhou Jingzhan. He didn't even want to take a shower. He walked into the bedroom and went to bed.
This behavior made Zhou Jingzhan very angry, "You are not allowed to sleep, explain yourself clearly!"
While Chu Yunqi couldn't open his eyes, he was wondering if the difference in three months was so big, and why Zhou Jingzhan was so energetic.
Just thinking about this, Chu Yunqi was almost falling asleep.
Zhou Jingzhan refused and lifted his quilt to wake him up.
Just then, a ragdoll cat jumped onto the bed and snuggled into Chu Yunqi's arms.
Zhou Jingzhan was allergic to cat hair and had mysophobia. He couldn't stand it anymore and punched Chu Yunqi twice through the quilt, "You're so dirty!"
Then the cat meowed.
Zhou Jingzhan glared at both the man and the cat and left the bedroom.
After Chu Yunqi fell asleep, he went into the bedroom to take a look out of concern, and at the same time carefully observed whether there was any sign of other people's presence.
Although he appeared innocent, Zhou Jingzhan was possessive and began to search through his drawers and cabinets one by one.
Finally, he found a pair of handcuffs from the bottom shelf of Chu Yunqi's bedside table. Upon closer inspection, he saw the letter C engraved on it, which was Chu Yunqi's "Chu".
Not knowing what he was doing with this thing, Zhou Jingzhan cursed him as a pervert in his heart, then handcuffed Chu Yunqi's left hand and handcuffed the other end to the bed.
It's not an uncomfortable posture after all.
After taking revenge on Chu Yunqi and making sure that he would not run away, Zhou Jingzhan returned to the living room with peace of mind.
Because he had a lot of things on his mind, Zhou Jingzhan couldn't fall asleep. After resting for a while, he felt thirsty. He looked around but didn't see any water, so he went to the refrigerator to look for it.
When he opened it, he saw a box full of iced mineral water and soda, and he didn't know whether it had expired or not. Zhou Jingzhan was so angry that he threw it all into the trash can.
He thought Chu Yunqi would sleep until noon, and was thinking of going out for a walk, but he didn't expect to hear movement in the bedroom just after eight o'clock.
At this time, it had been less than five hours since Chu Yunqi fell asleep.
Zhou Jingzhan let the noise in the bedroom continue for a while, and then Chu Yunqi's voice came out as expected, "Zhou Jingzhan!"
Zhou Jingzhan went in to see him. Chu Yunqi was sitting on the bed, waving his hands desperately trying to break free from the restraints. "You pervert, untie me now!"
Afraid that he would hurt his wrist if he continued like this, Zhou Jingzhan took out the key and unlocked the door in time.
After regaining his freedom, Chu Yunqi pushed him away and walked towards the bathroom.
When he came out again, he had already taken a shower and was only wrapped in a thin bath towel. The mottled marks on his body were still faintly visible. When he saw Zhou Jingzhan, he didn't take the initiative to speak, but walked straight to the cat room with the cat in his arms.
He fiddled in the cat room for a while, got some cat food, and then returned to the living room.
Zhou Jingzhan looked at him without any emotion, trying to find something to say, "Why did you think of getting a cat?"
"I wanted to raise one since I was a child, but my parents didn't let me when I was at home, and later you didn't let me either." Chu Yunqi said in a gloomy tone.
Perhaps because of guilt or remorse, Zhou Jingzhan's voice rose a little, "Stop pretending to be pitiful."
Chu Yunqi rarely refuted. He searched in the drawer for a while and took out some medicine for Zhou Jingzhan. "Take one pill. It's for allergy relief."
"I won't eat it. It's been expired for hundreds of years."
Chu Yunqi took it out and handed it to him, "It's not expired, it's replaced regularly."
Zhou Jingzhan felt a pang in his heart, "Why didn't you take the cat back?"
When he asked, Chu Yunqi was spraying anti-allergy spray on the sofa. Hearing this, he replied nonchalantly, "I was afraid you wouldn't like it."
"Chu Yunqi!" Zhou Jingzhan called him viciously.
"What are you doing?" Chu Yunqi responded neither lightly nor heavily, without stopping his hands.
"You bastard." Zhou Jingzhan said each word clearly, with no concealment of the resentment in his eyes.
Chu Yunqi ignored him and went to the refrigerator to get some water. Naturally, he saw the things thrown into the trash can. He said unhappily, "You've already scolded me and thrown away the things. You should go back home as soon as possible."
"You come back with me."
"Stop it."
Who made the fuss? Chu Yunqi treated his serious matter as a joke. Zhou Jingzhan cursed, "Who made the fuss with you! You left without a word. Have you ever thought about your uncle and aunt, have you ever thought about me? Can you have a little sense of responsibility?"
When his father was mentioned, Chu Yunqi started to get serious again. "You're talking to me about responsibility now. Who was responsible for me when I went abroad seven years ago? My father didn't give me a penny, and you never called me!"
"You deserve it. No one forced you to go abroad. It's you who didn't want to live a good life!"
"Yes, you are right. No one is forcing me. I don't want to go back to China now, so don't force me."
It seemed like he was determined. Zhou Jingzhan's heart was about to shatter into pieces of glass, and his words were not as tough as before. "Then why did you come back to China for an exchange program for half a year? You messed up my life and now you want to get out?"
Chu Yunqi looked at him, tightening his grip on the bar, and then continued calmly, "I came back to China to reconcile with you. I've apologized and given in so many times, but in the end, do you care? All you cared about for so-called explanations and reasons for all these years."
"I don't care about the reason. Do you want me to pretend nothing happened and continue living with you?"
"You want to know the reason, but I can't give you an answer, so just forget me and go back to your country to live the life you deserve."
Just as Zhou Jingzhan was about to lose his temper, the phone rang. It was the middle of the night in China, and his father must have something urgent to tell him. Zhou Jingzhan didn't dare not answer the phone.
"Where are you now? Come back to Jiangsu quickly, your grandma Zhao is dying." His tone was very urgent.
Zhao Xiujun has worked tirelessly for the Zhou family for more than seventy years and has a deep friendship with several generations of elders. Her friendship with Shen Liangqiong, Zhou Jingzhan's grandmother, is even closer. For this reason, the entire Zhou family has to respect her.
Thinking about it carefully, Zhao Xiujun is already over 90 years old. Although there is affection, the distance between them halfway around the world is too far. Zhou Jingzhan explained, "I just arrived in Country M and can't go back."
Over there, Zhou Wenxuan spoke harshly to Zhou Jingzhan, "I don't care where you are, come back now. As a young man, you should know some rules."
Zhou Jingzhan seemed to have thought of something, his face became serious, and he immediately agreed.
He didn't even bother with Chu Yunqi anymore and turned around and went back to the airport.
The plane took off four hours later.
Two consecutive long-distance flights left Zhou Jingzhan exhausted, but he couldn't fall asleep no matter what, and his thoughts went back to seven years ago.
Also in a foreign country, Zhou Jingzhan received the news that his grandmother was critically ill, and rushed back without stopping. In the end, he did catch up with her, but Shen Liangqiong refused to see him for the last time.
Shen Liangqiong doted on Zhou Jingzhan very much. She gave him whatever he wanted from childhood to adulthood and even wanted to detain him in Suzhou and raise him herself.
The incident happened when Zhou Jingzhan was in college. He finally got his wish and was with Chu Yunqi. He happily brought her home to show her grandmother, but he didn't expect that Shen Liangqiong would say three firm words: I don't agree.
Zhou Jingzhan felt upset for a long time because of this, but later he slowly accepted it. After all, the only one who disagreed was his grandmother, so it didn't matter.
He advised himself this in his heart.
Zhou Jingzhan thought that perhaps his sincerity moved God, and his grandmother no longer obstructed him, but simply refused to allow the two to enter the house.
At that time, Zhou Jingzhan was still immersed in the joy of love and had no idea that a year later, he would not be able to see his grandmother for the last time because of this. He could not have imagined that a month later, Chu Yunqi would also go to Country M.
I must catch up, Zhou Jingzhan prayed silently in his heart.
