Chapter 8 Intern
Chu Yunqi looked incredulous: "Me?"
Zhou Jingzhan glared at him with disdain and asked, "What else? Are you being supported for nothing?"
"Okay, then I'll go with Ji Hong." Chu Yunqi didn't have any other meaning in this sentence, he just wanted to be a little more familiar with Ji Hong.
You damn scumbag, you hooked up with Ji Hong so quickly, and went to find Ji Hong before I arranged someone for you. Are you so inseparable? Zhou Jingzhan muttered to himself, and left without saying anything.
When the two were together, no matter what Chu Yunqi did that made Zhou Jingzhan really angry, he would not admit his mistake or coax him, leaving it all up to Zhou Jingzhan to process it on his own. Naturally, it didn't look like he was very unhappy at this moment, so he called Ji Hong and went to the emergency room.
Perhaps due to the long-term environment, the emergency doctor who was in contact with Chu Yunqi was very impatient and hot-tempered. When he saw Ji Hong coming over, he couldn't help but urge him: "Why are you so slow? I've been calling you for a long time."
This is the emergency department director Fan Tonggui.
Seeing a stranger following Ji Hong, Fan Tonggui complained bluntly, "It's fine if Zhou Jingzhan doesn't come down himself, but what do you mean by bringing someone who's holding you back? I'm doing life-saving work here, not letting you bring interns here to practice!"
Ji Hong smiled awkwardly, but before he could say anything, he was attracted by the shouting from the emergency room.
When things were serious, Chu Yunqi still knew what was important and what was not. For the time being, he didn't care about Fan Tonggui saying that he was a drag on the team. He automatically ignored Fan Tonggui's words that he should not touch the patient. While examining him, he asked, "Cancer?"
Ji Hong didn't look at the patient at first, but when Chu Yunqi said that, he looked at the patient. He was a skinny, bald man who looked to be in his seventies, but was actually only sixty. He replied, "Small cell lung cancer, late stage, Director Zhou's patient."
The two of them were so confused by the conversation that the intern in the emergency department was left wondering, "How did he know the patient had cancer?"
Fan Tonggui also didn't understand. He looked at Chu Yunqi suspiciously and asked in a questioning tone, "How did you know that?"
"..." Chu Yunqi didn't say anything. After the examination, he replied slowly, "We cardiothoracic surgery interns are all lagging behind. We rely on guesswork when treating patients."
As soon as these words were spoken, Fan Tonggui's face turned pale and blue. Chu Yunqi's words were clearly a complaint about the interns in the emergency room, who were even worse!
Fan Tonggui was so angry that his breath was stuck in his chest. In the end, he just glared at Ji Hong fiercely: "You guys in the department should not just talk, because treating patients depends on skills."
"Don't worry about our department. If you have time, you should teach the interns how to sew. You can find a seamstress who can sew better than your interns."
Chu Yunqi didn't want to say the latter sentence at first, but when he was coming down, he happened to pass by an intern who was suturing a patient. It was so ugly that he couldn't help but say it.
Fan Tonggui relied on his connections to show off all day long. Many people in the hospital disliked him, and Ji Hong was no exception. He was very happy to see Chu Yunqi scolding him, but he didn't want Chu Yunqi to get into trouble, so he coughed to remind him that it was enough.
Chu Yunqi also got what he meant and shut up. However, Fan Tonggui kept his eyes on him. He glanced at his work badge and said threateningly, "Chu Yunqi, you're Ji Hong's intern, right? If Zhou Jingzhan knew that the people in his department were so proud of him, he would be very happy."
The patient's condition was not complicated for Chu Yun. It was just a matter of arranging the ward, which he didn't know how to do. So after he finished these things, he went straight back to the cardiothoracic surgery department. The next treatment plan still depended on Zhou Jingzhan.
After the general surgery consultation, Zhou Jingzhan performed another operation and returned to the office hungry at almost two o'clock. Seeing that Chu Yunqi had fallen asleep, he did not disturb him and turned to call Ji Hong.
Ji Hong stood up suddenly. When he saw that it was Zhou Jingzhan, his temper immediately disappeared. He asked in a gentle voice, "What's wrong?"
"What were you and Chu Yunqi doing in the emergency room?" Zhou Jingzhan added, "Director Fan called me."
Ji Hong's expression changed immediately, and he asked tentatively, "What did Director Fan say?"
"They say that doctors in our cardiothoracic surgery department have strong personalities." Zhou Jingzhan said sarcastically, implying that he was offending his superiors.
In fact, Zhou Jingzhan knew who the "doctor" that Fan Tonggui was referring to without having to think about it. Ji Hong was just a bit of a scumbag, but he would not do anything to openly challenge Fan Tonggui.
But Chu Yunqi is different. Not only is he a scumbag, he also bullies people, especially people like Fan Tonggui who rely on their connections to bully their subordinates.
Fan Tonggui probably never imagined that the person he was referring to as "a drag" not only had strength, but also a background that he could not match.
Zhou Jingzhan didn't take Chu Yunqi's criticism of Fan Tonggui to heart. He also disliked Fan Tonggui, but he didn't want to miss this opportunity to squeeze Chu Yunqi with justification.
After making sure Chu Yunqi was still awake, Zhou Jingzhan lowered his voice and asked Ji Hong, "I believe you would never do such a thing as disrespecting your superiors. Just tell me what Chu Yunqi said. The more details the better."
Ji Hong struggled deeply in his heart, and finally pretended to be reluctant and sold out Chu Yunqi completely. After saying that, he comforted himself in his heart, it's okay, Director Zhou will definitely not be too harsh on Professor Chu.
After listening to this, Zhou Jingzhan looked incredulous: "He just said these two sentences, nothing else?"
Zhou Jingzhan seemed quite regretful when asked this question. Ji Hong was at a loss for words, and he stammered, "Do you feel a little differently about Professor Chu?"
After hearing this, Zhou Jingzhan asked, "Which eye did you see that with?"
Ji Hong knew that he had indeed let Chu Yunqi down just now, so he asked with a fearless attitude: "What's the difference? Tell me yourself, you are busy with a lot of surgeries every day, and you leave Professor Chu alone, like a god?"
Zhou Jingzhan obviously didn't expect Ji Hong to come up with such a shocking metaphor, but he was unable to refute it and could only return to his seat.
As soon as he sat down, Luo Zixi pushed the charity lunch to him. Zhou Jingzhan said thank you, then sprayed the packaging three times with disinfectant: "Don't mind, it's just my problem."
This problem has been going on for a long time, so Luo Zixi naturally didn't care. He sat across from him, holding his chin and said, "Do you know that you are really fierce?"
"How am I fierce?"
"Doctor Ren performed an operation with you today, and she came back crying just from standing by and watching. That shows how picky you are."
Zhou Jingzhan didn't refute or explain, and continued with her words: "I haven't said anything to you yet. You spent so much time buying clothes. Let's forget about it today. Don't do it again. I've made it clear to you in advance, so don't go crying to your brother later."
The latter sentence woke Luo Zixi up: "By the way, are you free tonight? My brother wants to welcome me."
"When you're free, come over after get off work."
