Chapter 75

Chapter 75

At midnight, Chen Zhiyi returned to the stage. The stage was filled with stars and handsome men and beautiful women, but Lin Ting immediately spotted that white figure.

He didn't change his clothes. Compared to the other artists around him, his makeup and outfits were too simple, but he had an outstanding temperament and exuded an indescribable charm in his every move, making him an impossible presence to ignore.

The entertainment industry is ever-changing, but Chen Zhiyi's good looks remain constant.

The host walked over to Chen Zhiyi and said, "It's Zhiyi's turn. It's midnight, what New Year's wishes do you want to send to everyone?"

He leaned close to the microphone in the host's hand, staring directly into Lin Ting's eyes without flinching or avoiding her.

"Listen, the whole world is wishing you a Happy New Year, including me."

After he finished speaking, the audience cheered.

Even the host exclaimed, "How gentle he is! I believe the whole world can hear Zhiyi's 'Happy New Year'!"

But only Lin Ting knew that "Tingting" was not a verb, but a noun, and it was her name.

At this moment, my calmed heart is like a pot of freshly boiled water, overflowing with excitement.

Their eyes met on stage and off stage, like a frozen moment in a movie, blurring the noisy and chaotic background, focusing solely on each other.

The countdown to midnight has ended, and we've stepped into a new year. Everything is renewed, a new beginning, and new opportunities.

Lin Ting received a message from Chen Zhiyi: "I'm going back to the hotel now. I'll pick you up when it's almost over. Be careful."

"good."

A new round of wonderful performances has taken to the stage, creating another dazzling spectacle.

The lingering effects of her rapid heartbeat still coursed through her body, leaving Lin Ting feeling dizzy.

The dizziness came in waves. At that moment, she felt like a bottle of soda being constantly shaken, with bubbles gathering at the bottom, ready to burst. The surrounding crowd, the loud shouts, and the dazzling stage lights were like heavy objects pressing down on the bottle's opening, repeatedly applying increasing pressure.

Only Chen Zhiyi's two lines of confession on stage pierced through all the noise and kept echoing in her mind.

This confession was like a final, heavy blow to a soda bottle. Lin Ting felt she couldn't take it anymore—she needed to vent, she had to completely release what had been suppressed in her heart for so long, whether it was love or desire.

Without hesitation, she stood up and ran towards the exit.

The noise rushed past her ears, and Lin Ting could only hear the sound of her own heartbeat. Each strong throb told her to run, to run to the one she loved.

The most touching thing about love is that it can make people reckless, give courage to the timid, empower the humble, and help the indifferent rediscover the ability to love.

Life is short, so it's worth loving recklessly at least once. Even if the future doesn't end well, at least you won't regret it.

Lin Ting practically ran back to the hotel, ignoring the stares of passersby, and went straight to Chen Zhiyi's room.

The door opened, and Lin Ting took off her down jacket. Then, like a koala, she quickly jumped onto Chen Zhiyi, hooking her arms around his neck and wrapping her legs around his waist. Although Chen Zhiyi didn't react in time, he caught her steadily.

He tried to ask some questions, but Lin Ting silenced him with a kiss that was not the light, fleeting kind of kisses he used to have. Instead, it was a fierce, intense kiss, with their lips and tongues intertwined tightly, inseparable.

Chen Zhiyi managed to maintain a semblance of composure, turned around, and locked the door with his back.

The click of the door locking brought Lin Ting back to her senses. She clung tightly to Chen Zhiyi, her lips parted, red, her eyes misty and deep, like a black hole, drawing Chen Zhiyi's mind and body in.

"Chen Zhiyi, I like you, just like you like me."

That one sentence was enough to shatter Chen Zhiyi's last shred of composure. He grabbed the back of her head, pulled her close to him, and took the initiative, kissing her deeply.

Men take the initiative differently than women. Lin Ting felt as if her breath had been stolen away by him in an instant, and her nostrils were filled with his scent. If her tongue were to tentatively retreat even slightly, he would take it all, not allowing her to back down even a little.

Chen Zhiyi kissed her fiercely and deeply, showing none of his usual restraint and propriety. He sucked hard on Lin Ting's tongue, plundering everything in her mouth. If he could, he would want to possess everything on her body as well.

Lin Ting was a little overwhelmed by the intense kiss. Her eyelashes trembled violently, and her legs, which were wrapped around his waist, went weak. She tried to break free and put them on the ground, but he lifted her up and held her even tighter.

Then he strode towards the bedside.

He placed her on the bed, pressed his body against hers, and kissed her with warm, wet breath, moving up her body, kissing her nose, eyes, cheeks, and chin, leaving no spot untouched.

Then he moved to her earlobe, nibbled on it, and whispered in her ear, his voice hoarse, "Is it what I think?"

Lin Ting felt dizzy, but she knew her own feelings. Otherwise, what would have been the point of running all the way back from the convention center? She hugged his head and gently hummed in agreement.

"No regrets?"

No regrets.

Chen Zhiyi wasn't the kind of animal who only thought with his lower body. Although he had already taken Lin Ting's place countless times in his dreams and imaginations, he wouldn't force her to do it even if they had to get married, as long as Lin Ting didn't want to.

Although the room was pitch black with the lights off, the bright moonlight from outside the window shone on the bed, adding a hazy filter to the two intertwined bodies.

Ke Lin closed her eyes, her mind filled with the image of those two intertwined, white bodies from nineteen years ago—an image she could never forget, an image that made her want to vomit.

So, tears welled up uncontrollably, her body trembled slightly, and she gripped the sheets tightly with both hands. She knew very well that she wasn't afraid of Chen Zhiyi's touch or the more intimate contact that followed; she just couldn't get over that psychological hurdle.

She could stop everything right now, but she didn't want to. She wanted to give herself completely to the one she loved, and there would be no one else but him.

Chen Zhiyi could see her nervousness and fear. He kissed away the tears in the corners of her eyes one by one, then reached under her hand and peeled away her fingers that were tightly gripping the sheets one by one before interlocking his fingers with hers.

"Don't be afraid. We are not like them. This happened naturally because we love each other. Don't think that making love is unacceptable because they did something wrong. When people who love each other do this, they will only feel that they are perfectly integrated and that their bodies and minds are united. It is the most wonderful thing."

"Open your eyes and look at me."

Lin Ting slowly opened her eyes and saw the desire and obsession in Chen Zhiyi's eyes. It was very deep, not something that had just appeared, but something that had been suppressed for a very long time. "Have you wanted to do this for a long time?"

Chen Zhiyi kissed the corner of her mouth, his eyes beneath her eyelashes unfathomable. "Yes, on the third day after we met, when we were shoving each other, your black-rimmed glasses fell off, and when I looked up and saw your true face, I knew in that instant that I was completely captivated."

Lin Ting wanted to ask him if it was her first time, because it was her first time, but that didn't matter anymore. Once she crossed that line, she knew there was no turning back, and she had nothing left to hold back.

More than fear, she felt a flutter of excitement and happiness.

She was certain that she loved the person on top of her, and that he loved her too.

So she took the initiative again and pressed her lips to his, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck, as if to tell him, "I'm not afraid anymore, I don't regret it, I'm ready."

Chen Zhiyi supported himself with one hand beside her, while tracing the face etched into his bones with the other. He understood the determination, courage, and no regrets in her eyes.

He leaned down and kissed her eyebrows and eyes. "I love you, Lin Ting." It was a confession, but also a promise for a lifetime.

At that moment, even if there was a bottomless abyss before her, Lin Ting jumped without hesitation. However, it was as if she had jumped into a strange and illusory fairyland, swaying and floating, as if wandering in the clouds.

Finally, Lin Ting felt completely drained, with no strength or moisture left. Chen Zhiyi first fed her a glass of water, then carried her to the bathroom to take a shower.

He wiped her body, his voice gentle, "Are you still feeling unwell?"

Lin Ting was exhausted. She leaned against him and shook her head.

Chen Zhiyi looked at her flushed face afterward, so tender and lovely, and couldn't love her enough. He lowered his head and kissed her eyebrows and eyes. He took out the shower gel, squeezed some onto his hands, lathered it up, and then washed her body. While washing her, he said in a serious tone, "Every time after doing this, no matter how tired or uncomfortable you are, you have to take a shower, otherwise you'll easily get sick. If you don't want to move, I'll wash you."

His expression was calm, as if he were imparting some serious knowledge.

Lin Ting looked up and glanced at him; he seemed to know quite a lot.

After washing her up, Chen Zhiyi changed her into a bathrobe, then carried her back to bed and held her close.

When it was all over, Lin Ting felt ashamed. The thought that she had taken the initiative in the first place made her even more embarrassed. She lay stiffly on the bed, half of her face hidden under the covers, leaving only her eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

Chen Zhiyi couldn't help but smile. "Is it too late to regret it now?"

"Don't talk." A glimpse of the white crumpled paper in the trash can and the torn small square bag on the bedside table made him want to plunge into a hole in the ground even more.

"Will the cleaning lady be curious when she sees these things tomorrow? Will she investigate who lives in this house? Will our relationship be exposed?"

"Don't worry, Auntie doesn't go online, okay? I'll clean everything up first thing tomorrow morning, leaving no evidence behind."

Lin Ting was amused by his serious tone.

The two fell asleep in each other's arms, knowing that when they opened their eyes tomorrow, it would be a new day, a new year, and a beautiful beginning.
