Chapter 90 (Extra): A Hundred Years of Harmony.

"Baby~ I can't find my curling iron."

Hey, baby.

On the sofa in the living room on the first floor of the duplex, Shang Shu leaned against Gu Sui's chest, fiddling with her necklace. Listening to Lin Lang's penetrating voice coming from upstairs, she got goosebumps.

"Coming," Gu Xiangyi replied, placing the plate of freshly washed cherries on the coffee table. She glanced helplessly at the two of them before hurrying upstairs.

"Touch it." Shang Shu rolled up her sleeves and showed Gu Sui a small section of her arm.

Gu Sui gently stroked it twice, hummed in agreement, and then leaned over to pick a cherry and feed it to Shang Shu.

After spending a few days in Aicheng, they stopped by Luncheng to visit Lin Lang and Gu Xiangyi, stayed for a few days, and then returned home. It seemed that the two of them had settled in for a month or so and were living quite comfortably.

Before I arrived, I heard they were planning to get married, and the two of them were even more excited than the couple themselves. They quickly started making an effort, insisting on dragging them to some kind of bachelor/bachelorette party and saying they wanted to go clubbing at a nightclub.

Shang Shu refused immediately, knowing that Gu Sui wasn't interested in this. After a few more rounds of negotiation, she finally decided to go to a jazz bar for some entertainment, so that at least she could listen to music even if she couldn't drink alcohol.

At this very moment, they were waiting for the beautiful Lin to finish dressing up. Shang Shu spat out the cherry pit, wondering who was getting married.

Ouch, that's so sour.

She mischievously grabbed a pearl and put it in Gu Sui's mouth: "Try it."

A few seconds later, Gu Sui frowned as expected. She glanced at Shang Shu's barely suppressed mischievous smile, spat it out, and then leaned in to kiss her.

"Ugh—" Shang Shu was pressed down on the sofa and couldn't move. She could only lean against her shoulder and let the sour taste invade her mouth again.

"You're bullying me." After the kiss, Shang Shu preemptively accused him.

"Did I bully you?" Gu Suirun moistened her lips, as if to dilute the sourness, or as if to savor the memory.

Shang Shu nodded, quite reasonably: "You fed me without even tasting it yourself."

It made her jealous twice, how awful.

"Oh," Gu Sui chuckled, curling his finger to rub her cheek, "Is it still sore now?"

"It's so sour," Shang Shu always got itchy from these little gestures, so she simply straddled Gu Sui and acted coquettishly, "It's so sour it makes my teeth ache."

With her arms around Gu Sui's neck, Shang Shu squinted her peach blossom eyes and looked at her. Gu Sui was wearing a black turtleneck sweater today, with a moon pendant peeking out as an embellishment, which suited her exceptionally well.

"Did it fall over? Let me see." Gu Sui placed his hand on her lower back, his breath ragged, and kissed her again.

Lin Lang, who was leaning against the railing upstairs, clicked his tongue in disapproval and picked up a strand of Gu Xiangyi's hair with his finger: "Baby, should I curl yours too?"

She realized it would be a while before she finished.

“No,” Gu Xiangyi shook her head and gripped her wrist tightly, “but we can do something else.”

She knew it could be done quickly, and she was sure she wouldn't mess up her hairstyle.

Around 7 p.m., the four of them finally went out.

Lin Lang wore a silver halter-neck dress with a rosy blush on her face, while Gu Xiangyi wore a strapless top with a pleated skirt, revealing her slender white legs, and a pair of calf-high boots.

Shang Shu and Gu Sui looked much more relaxed. Shang Shu wore a milky white off-shoulder top with a long skirt, while Gu Sui wore wide-leg trousers. He held Shang Shu's hand and occasionally stroked her delicate, snow-white shoulder.

The bar is exquisitely decorated, with dim lighting that creates a wonderful atmosphere. Flames flicker on the rim of glasses, ice balls are lightly tapped and sprinkled with snow by the bartender, and a red velvet curtain casts a soft light onto the instruments. Small groups of musicians begin their warm-up, with the low notes of the piano keys and the delicate drumbeats building anticipation.

The venue was packed. Tonight's band was Ava, a famous female trombonist from Edmonton, and her own band. Many people came specifically to see her, including Gu Xiangyi, who is well-known in the industry.

The group sat down at their pre-booked table on the second floor and each ordered a drink. As usual, Shang Shu ordered a Metropolitan and then a non-alcoholic mojito for Gu Sui.

Thinking back to the last time they sat together like this, it was right after they made up. Now, in the blink of an eye, they're getting married. Lin Lang couldn't help but feel a little sentimental.

"You two, who proposed to whom?" His gaze swept over the two of them, then settled on Shang Shu, tapping the round table as he asked, "You were the one who confessed back then, and you were the one who got back together with her, but this time?"

As childhood friends, it's not unreasonable for us to be a little petty, is it?

"Cough, we haven't even had a drink yet." Gu Xiangyi pinched her with her eyes, meaning, "Don't cause trouble, okay?"

Shang Shu rested her chin on her hand and exchanged a glance with Gu Sui, then smiled and said, "I don't know."

?

How could someone not know the option in something like this?

Lin Lang and Gu Xiangyi looked puzzled, but Gu Sui smiled.

"What does this mean?" Seeing this, the two were even more confused, not knowing what kind of riddle they were talking about.

“Hmm…it’s me this time, but—” Shang Shu casually rested her fingers on her cheek, turning her head to look at Gu Sui with a smile.

“But every single day before that, she was proposing to me.”

She knew everything, but only in the way that was most comfortable for them, without needing diamond rings or roses to tell her.

Gu Sui's smile deepened, and his gaze toward Shang Shu became even more intense.

"Ha, wow," Lin Lang clapped inwardly, and his hands were almost clapping as well, "Lily, lily."

May you have a long and happy marriage.

Gu Xiangyi shook her head, looking at him with an expression that said, "See, you insisted on asking, and now you're making me eat a mouthful of dog food too."

The drinks were served, the drummer struck two beats, the bass sounded like a gentle, flowing river into everyone's ears, the piano was clear and bright, and then the trombone opened the night.

The music was indeed excellent, and the atmosphere was superb. Some people near the main stage on the first floor even got up and started swaying. The four of them enjoyed the music while chatting casually, occasionally taking a sip of wine, feeling pleasantly tipsy.

After listening to a few songs, Shang Shu and Lin Lang went to the restroom together. When they returned, they saw a foreign girl in a burgundy tank top leaning against the table, flirting with Gu Sui with great charm.

Shang Shu bit her lip and stopped walking, standing on the veranda with great interest.

"Holy crap!" Lin Lang, who had just finished fiddling with her skirt, came back to her senses and couldn't help but exclaim.

She thought Gu Xiangyi was the one being approached, but when she saw the person sitting next to her with a fascinating expression, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. What kind of regular program is this at the bar?

"Foreigners are direct, haha." Lin Lang glanced at Shang Shu and asked tentatively.

"Yes." Shang Shu smiled slightly, but still didn't move.

"Just standing there?" Seeing the woman's calm reaction, Lin Lang seriously suspected she was drunk and didn't see someone trying to steal his wife.

Shang Shu didn't answer, but slowly crossed her arms and looked at Gu Sui's faint smile. She felt as if something was more sour than the cherries at home.

They didn't exchange more than a few words before the girl left with her wine glass. Only then did Shang Shu step forward and return to her seat.

The trombone started playing again, and it happened to be one of Shang Shu's favorites. She glanced at Gu Sui, then looked back at the pink wine, taking small sips to the music without saying a word.

Lin Lang and Gu Xiangyi felt their eyes were particularly busy tonight. They first exchanged a meaningful glance, then kindly reminded Gu Sui, and then glanced at Shang Shu without making a sound before finally being able to put their eyes back to rest.

Gu Sui pursed his lips, naturally placed his hand back on Shang Shu's waist, and gently circled his fingertips.

"What did you talk about?" Halfway through the conversation, Shang Shu, still holding her wine glass, blurted out without turning her head.

Gu Sui's chest trembled slightly as he chuckled in her ear, "Why don't you come and listen yourself?"

She had just seen a snow-white little fox deliberately standing there watching, ignoring her, and only coming over after everyone had left.

Shang Shu hesitated for a moment, but refused to respond. She simply picked up her wine glass and took another big gulp: "Confess and you will be treated leniently."

They've been discovered, but admitting it is impossible.

Gu Sui took the wine glass from her hand and placed it a little further away: "She said she wanted to get to know me."

"Then what did you say?" Shang Shu's hand was free, so she reached out and touched the moon on Gu Sui's chest.

“I said,” Gu Sui grasped her fingertips, “I’m already married.”

The gentle melody turned lively, and the drummer's brush swept lightly in circles on the drumhead, the rustling sound drifting to Shang Shu's pinched fingertips and into her heart.

"It's wrong to lie." Shang Shu pulled her hand back, but she couldn't suppress the urge to smile.

"Um?"

"It's not settled yet."

"What do you mean?" Gu Sui tightened his grip on her waist, indicating his displeasure.

"I don't know," Shang Shu teased casually, implying that she'd probably only find out after her jealousy subsided.

After a few more drinks, we arrived home around 11 p.m. after listening to the late set. Everyone politely said goodbye at the entrance. Then Lin Lang and Gu Xiangyi went upstairs, while Shang Shu and Gu Sui went back to their bedroom on the first floor, each continuing their nightlife in their own way.

The door closed, and Shang Shu didn't turn on the light. She just stood by the door, leaning her back against it, watching Gu Sui with great interest in the darkness, just like she would in a bar.

The hazy moonlight outlined Gu Sui's beautiful figure, and the occasional blurred vision added a touch of charm to her allure.

"Are you drunk?" Gu Sui followed the quiet person over, smiling knowingly as she asked, her voice soft and alluring.

"Hmm," Shang Shu said slowly, her eyelashes drooping, "I'm not feeling well."

"Where do you feel unwell?" Gu Sui couldn't see her expression, so he suppressed his smile and took a small step forward to support her waist, looking a little nervous.

The moment her waist was touched, Shang Shu grabbed her arm, turned her around, and deftly shifted her position, pinning her against the door.

“Here…” She reached out her finger and brushed it across Gu Sui’s lips, but did not linger on the softness. Instead, she slid her finger down, creating a beautiful arc.

Gu Sui tilted his head back slightly, his breathing disturbed by the other person's movements and the alcohol-laden air.

“Here…” Her beautiful fingertips stopped at Gu Sui’s heart, circling the crescent moon that hung there.

"And..." Shang Shu smiled faintly, exchanging more of the cranberry-scented scent with her, continuing to draw circles outside her heart, "Here."

Gu Sui let out a soft moan and couldn't resist cupping her face in his hands and kissing her.

The ring was taken off and placed on the bedside table, its faint glow telling the moon what its owner intended to do for her.

As the circle deepened, Shang Shu whispered in her ear that she needed the moon to soothe itself, because she still had some lingering sourness that needed to be diluted.

The night, churning like pink wine, saw Gu Sui's furrowed brows above her, and Shang Shu finally couldn't resist leaning closer.

"I can't smile like that at other people anymore." Possessiveness completely overwhelmed the marks of restraint.

"Hmm..." Gu Sui responded absentmindedly.

"Call me." The wine was about to spill from the swaying glass, and Shang Shu used this opportunity to coax her.

“Ah Shu…”

"That's not it."

She wants to hear something even better, something that can only belong to her.

"Wife."

Yes, it sounds nice.
