When she came out, someone knocked on the door. She was puzzled and glanced at the time; it was eight o'clock in the evening.
It wasn't very late, but who would be looking for her at this hour?
She walked to the door and opened it.
"Hello, I..."
Her words came to an abrupt halt when she saw who it was.
She narrowed her eyes slightly, staring at Jiang An in front of her.
"Miss Jiang, is there something you need?" She asked, a half-smile playing on her lips.
Jiang An held the gift box in his hand, intending to give it to her, while glancing into the room every now and then.
"I heard Miss Ye is sick, so I came to see you."
"Really?" She looked Jiang An up and down. "Miss Jiang, did you come to see me, or are you here to test me?"
She hadn't missed Jiang An's action of looking inside earlier.
Jiang An smiled faintly, as if she knew nothing. "No, Miss Ye, have you misunderstood something? I really just came to see you."
Ye Xinning couldn't stand her hypocritical behavior, and her words turned cold.
"Since Shen Lin isn't here, there's no need for these hypocritical words and pretentious act."
"He's not here?" Jiang An asked, then saw Ye Xinning looking at her with a sarcastic smile.
Realizing what had happened, I realized I had acted a bit hastily.
She did come here to find Shen Lin. Ever since she spoke with Shen Lin at the hospital today, she hasn't been able to contact him. He hasn't replied to her messages or answered her calls.
She came because she thought Shen Lin would be with Ye Xinning.
"Chen Lin isn't here with me, you can leave." Ye Xinning said, and was about to close the door.
