Ye Xinning paused in her porridge-drinking motion, looked up at Shen Nanxing, and asked in confusion, "What?"

Hearing Xia He say that, Ye Xinning felt relieved, as long as it wasn't for Ye Rouxin.

Just as Ye Xinning was about to say something, the door to the ward opened from the inside, and the next second, a tall and slender figure appeared before her.
Ye Xinning looked up at the person in front of her. Shen Lin was still wearing the clothes from last night. They had made such a fuss earlier, but Shen Lin hadn't heard a thing. The timing of his appearance was just right.
Ye Xinning didn't want to talk to Shen Lin, so she simply lowered her head again.
"Why are you here?" Shen Lin asked, his tone normal, without much change in emotion.
"Here I am, to see Miss Jiang. How is she? What's the situation?" Shen Nanxing asked.
"He slipped and fell; the child almost died and is still unconscious."
Shen Lin explained the situation very clearly in just a few words.
What does "almost died" mean?
"She is still not out of danger and will need to be hospitalized for observation until delivery."
Shen Nanxing gave an "oh," which was indeed very bad, but...
"Did you get a paternity test done, brother?"
"Grandma has been watching over her all along, so she hasn't had a chance."
Shen Nanxing let out a long sigh and turned his head to look at Ye Xinning's expression. Ye Xinning hadn't said a word since Shen Lin left.
"Sister-in-law," Shen Nanxing called out to Ye Xinning in a low voice.
Ye Xinning snapped out of her daze and looked at Shen Lin. "Since Miss Jiang's condition isn't good, let's not go in and disturb her. Let's go, Nanxing."
As she spoke, she prepared to turn and leave.
But as she turned around, Shen Lin grabbed her hand. "Wait, let's go together."
When the old lady heard Shen Lin say he was leaving, she immediately became agitated. "You can't leave! An'an hasn't woken up yet, where are you going?"
