This intimate contact made Ye Xinning's eyes widen. The warm touch made her panic, and she hurriedly tried to back away, but before she could move, the large hand around her waist exerted all its strength again, pulling her body forward once more.
Ye Xinning watched Shen Lin deepen the kiss, her face filled with anger.

"Who told you not to come see me these past few days? You little ingrate." Despite being slapped, Shen Lin wasn't angry. Instead, he held Ye Xinning's hand and leaned in to kiss her head.
Ye Xinning slapped his hand away. "Still not admitting you tricked me into coming here?"
"I don't."
Ye Xinning didn't believe him. She lowered her head and looked at the wound on his waist. Although it had reopened, his complexion seemed normal, so it shouldn't be too serious.
So Ye Xinning went to the first-aid kit in the bedroom and treated his wounds herself.
While treating the wound, Shen Lin kept his head down, his gaze fixed on her without ever moving.
Ye Xinning felt uncomfortable under his gaze, so she looked up and turned his head to the side. "What are you looking at? It's been several days, and the wound has still reopened. I don't know how you've been taking care of yourself. Do you even want to get better?"
"Whether you're good or bad doesn't make much difference to me if you're not by my side."

Ye Xinning paused in her actions as she treated his wound, clearly not expecting him to say that.

He looked down at her carefully tending to his wound. What was originally a very ordinary interaction now seemed like such a luxury and something so precious to him.
Ye Xinning finished treating Shen Lin's wound, stood up, and said to Shen Lin, "The wound is treated. Although it's a bit rough, it shouldn't be a big problem for now. I'll go now. You should get some rest."

As Ye Xinning listened to Shen Lin mention the deeper reasons for choosing the marriage alliance, she remained silent for a long time.

Ye Xinning had just finished speaking when the bedroom door was opened from the outside.
