While Ye Xinning was passing the time wandering around, Sheng Ting looked at Shen Lin and said jokingly, "You really made a name for yourself at this charity gala tonight. A jade bracelet sold for 300 million."
In response to Sheng Ting's teasing, Shen Lin simply lowered his head and signed the order without saying a word.
“I just saw Ruan Yuan go to talk to you.”
"Um."
What did you say?
"nothing."
Sheng Ting didn't believe it. "It must have been about Jiang An, right? This bracelet of yours, was it a gift for Jiang An?"
Shen Lin stopped what he was doing, looked up, and his gaze fell on Sheng Ting. "Who told you I was going to give it to her?"
"Then who are you giving it to?"
After quickly handling the aftermath of the signed contract, the staff handed the documents to him.
He grabbed his things and was about to leave when Sheng Ting called out, "You haven't said anything yet."
"I am a married person."
Sheng Ting, "..."
Upon hearing this, Sheng Ting smiled. So, this was a gift for his legal wife.

When Shen Lin found Ye Xinning, she was eating.
The food at the charity gala was pretty good; she took a cake and was enjoying it immensely.
"Have you eaten enough?"
A familiar voice reached her ears. Ye Xinning looked up and saw Shen Lin standing with one hand in his pocket, looking down at her.
She waved the cake in her hand. "It tastes pretty good. Would Mr. Shen like to try some?"
Shen Lin suddenly moved closer, and the next second, he kissed her lips.
Ye Xinning's eyes widened, and she immediately felt that everyone's eyes were on her and Shen Lin.
She realized what was happening and tried to push Shen Lin away, but the man released her a second before she could make a move.
"It is indeed very sweet."
Ye Xinning, "..."
Even after leaving the banquet and sitting in the car, Ye Xinning didn't say another word to Shen Lin.
She suspected that Shen Lin had done it on purpose, deliberately misinterpreting her meaning.
This man, while bidding on an exorbitantly priced bracelet for another woman, was also engaging in these ambiguous actions that unsettled her; his intentions were extremely malicious.
Compared to her depression, Shen Lin seemed to be in a particularly good mood. He later received a phone call and continued chatting all the way to the hotel. Ye Xinning ignored him, grabbed her clothes, and went to take a shower.
Ye Xinning had been on a business trip to Beicheng for several days. After taking a shower, she picked up her phone to book a flight. Shen Lin was sitting on the sofa working, and Ye Xinning ignored him, focusing only on booking her own flight.

"I asked Wenzhu to book a flight back to Nancheng for tomorrow."

She still remembered that Ruan Yuan had said she wanted to have dinner with Shen Lin at the party.
Shen Lin's expression remained unchanged, but he sighed, "You can't remember other things, but you remember this one very clearly."

"It's nothing." She put away her phone. Since he had already booked the tickets, she wouldn't bother with anything else.
She put her phone away and prepared to go to sleep.
Shen Lin had to deal with work, so he didn't pay any attention to her.
In the middle of the night, Ye Xinning was half asleep when she felt a bloating pain in her abdomen, accompanied by a faint feeling of heaviness.
She clutched her stomach and woke up from her sleep. Shen Lin, who had woken up sometime earlier, was holding her hand tightly.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Ye Xinning didn't have the strength to answer her; this feeling was all too familiar.
She struggled to her feet and went to the restroom, and sure enough, it was there.
She got her period.
She was in so much pain that she couldn't straighten her back, and Chen Lin knocked on the door.
"Ye Xinning".
"Mmm," she replied weakly, "I'm on my period."
Which one?
"…Menstrual period."
The person outside the door was silent for a second.
Ye Xinning found it difficult to say, but she had no choice but to ask, "Chen Lin, could you go and buy that for me?"
Shen Lin frowned as he stood outside the door. "I'll have Wen Zhu go buy it."
"Are you bothering Wenzhu so late?"
Seeing his reluctance, Ye Xinning didn't want to make things difficult for Wenzhu, so she said, "I'll go by myself, you go back to sleep."
She had barely finished speaking when she heard Shen Lin's voice, "Wait."

Half an hour later, Shen Lin returned. Ye Xinning finished dealing with the situation and came out of the bathroom, only to see him sitting on the sofa with a sullen face.
She clutched her stomach, finding it unbelievable that Shen Lin had gone to buy her sanitary napkins.
"Chen Lin, thank you."
The man stood up from the sofa, walked over to her, and lifted her up by the waist, placing her on the bed.
Ye Xinning was stunned. Before she could say anything, Chen Lin spoke up.
Where did you put the things Aunt Xi prepared?
"It looks like it's in a box."
Shen Lin turned around to look for it, and soon returned with a hand warmer.
"How do I use this?" He held it and studied it, but couldn't figure out where to stick it.
Ye Xinning was surprised by his behavior, but immediately took it after realizing what he was doing.
"I can do it myself."
"Are you sure you can?" Shen Lin asked uncertainly. Her complexion was very poor, pale and bloodless, which made Shen Lin doubt again and again.
