Shen Lin nodded, replied casually with a "I understand," and continued walking upstairs.
Ye Rouxin's arrival was inevitable, so he wasn't too surprised.
He knew that restricting Ye Xinning's movements was an extreme measure, but he had to use this method to keep her until he could give her an answer she could accept. He couldn't bear to lose her again.

Thinking this, Shen Lin quickened his pace considerably.
Reaching the bedroom door upstairs, Shen Lin said to the bodyguard, "Go downstairs."
After the bodyguard left, Shen Lin stood at the door and, after mentally preparing himself, opened it.

There was no one in the bedroom, only a long rope made of clothes hanging in mid-air.
Shen Lin practically ran to the balcony. When he saw Ye Xinning suspended in mid-air, his heart jumped into his throat. This was the third floor, and Ye Xinning's body was just between the first and second floors. Shen Lin didn't dare to make a sound, afraid that his voice would frighten Ye Xinning. He turned around and quickly ran downstairs.
Ye Xinning, who was still descending the rope, did not see Shen Lin appear in the bedroom. She had already seen Aunt Wen's car outside. She was just a little bit away from being able to leave Ming Mansion and Shen Lin.
Ye Xinning descended with great joy and caution, but when she was still some distance from the ground, the rope above suddenly came loose.
Ye Xinning's body lost its support instantly and fell rapidly downwards.
This sudden turn of events caused Ye Xinning's face to drain of all color instantly.

Shen Lin lowered his head, and their eyes met. Ye Xinning's gaze was resolute, while Shen Lin's gaze was tender.
"Stop it, Ningning, I know you won't do it."
Ye Xinning didn't know where Shen Lin got the confidence to think that way. She wanted to ask him, but the sprained ankle was so bad that she didn't have the strength to waste words with him.
In the end, Ye Xinning was still taken back to the bedroom by Shen Lin.
The family doctor arrived quickly, and after an examination, the child was fine, except that Ye Xinning's ankle sprain was quite severe.
For the next few days, I won't be able to get out of bed.
Hearing the doctor say this, Ye Xinning's eyes widened. "What did you say? I can't walk for the next few days?"

She originally thought she could leave smoothly this time. Shen Lin was away on a business trip, and Aunt Wen's car was waiting at the door early in the morning. Everything was so perfect. But she never expected that Shen Lin would come back so quickly, especially at such a time.
Ye Xinning leaned back on the sofa, her eyes filled with despair. So, was she destined to stay here forever, refusing to let go of Shen Lin?

Ye Xinning couldn't stand Shen Lin's nonchalant words. She raised her hand and used all her strength, all the anger she had been holding back these past few days finally settling down. She slapped Shen Lin hard across the face.
"Shen Lin, do you think there's still a chance for us to get back together?"
