Ye Xinning didn't need her to say more; she already knew that what Shu Chaoyu had said during their previous meeting was true.

But the next second, a familiar voice was heard.

Upon hearing this, Ye Xinning stopped, looked up, and indeed it was Huo Yanzhi.
Her expression softened, and in front of so many people, she could only reply to Huo Yanzhi, "Can't I come? If I remember correctly, this place should still be under the Ye family name, right?"
The elevator arrived, and Ye Xinning stepped inside, only to find Huo Yanzhi following her.
There were only two people in the elevator. Ye Xinning subconsciously wanted to wait for the next one, but Huo Yanzhi stopped her just as the thought formed.

"What about the phone call I made? What do you mean by handing it to Shen Lin to answer?"
Ye Xinning thought of the phone that Shen Lin had snatched from her that day.
She didn't explain, but instead smiled gently, "We're husband and wife, it's perfectly normal for him to answer the phone for me. Do I need to explain this to my brother-in-law?"
She kept calling him "little uncle," and Huo Yanzhi's eyes darkened. He moved closer to her step by step.
"I told you, don't call me Uncle."
"What else should I call you if not Uncle?" Ye Xinning sneered. "Your brother is so eager to take over my Ye family, isn't it just to become one of us? I should be addressing you this way, as you wish."
"I've already said it, everything my brother did wasn't for your family's benefit."
Ye Xinning replied as if she had heard a joke, "If I said this to you yourselves, would you believe it?"
She didn't want to talk to Huo Yanzhi and was indifferent.
Huo Yanzhi, however, did not want to give up so easily. Ignoring Ye Xinning's resistance, he took her hand.
“I know you’re angry, angry about what happened between my brother and your mother, but they are them, and we are us. If that’s all you care about, I can take you away from Nancheng. I don’t want anything here. We’ll go somewhere where it’s just the two of us. That way, you won’t have to care about those worldly things.”
Ye Xinning used all her strength to try to break free from Huo Yanzhi's restraints.
