Chapter 21: Unable to Understand

Lei Ting sat in the living room staring at An Ning, while An Yang stared back at him. An Ning played on her phone. Liao Qian went upstairs to the An family home. An Ning's parents were dealing with work matters and weren't surprised by Liao Qian's arrival. Liao Qian wanted to apologize, but then thought that simply apologizing wasn't enough.

Liao Qian: "Uncle An, Aunt An... I..."

Han Yi: "You mean to say that you didn't tell Lei Ting to come here, and that it wasn't your idea to let him move in, right..."

Liao Qian: "Yes! My aunt is very understanding..."

Han Yi: "I can't understand..."

Liao Qian: "Ah! I..."

Liao Qian was a little nervous. If they were sent back to China or prevented from working in New York, all his hard work over the years would be wasted! Liao Qian looked at Han Yi, who didn't seem to blame him.

Han Yi: "Liao Qian! Sit down, Aunt An wants to say a few words to you. You know Lei Ting quite well, so how much sincerity do you think he has in coming this time?"

Liao Qian: "I...I dare not say..."

Han Yi: "It's okay, anyway, An Ning doesn't recognize him or remember that you acted as matchmaker for them, so just tell me."

Seeing that Han Yi really didn't blame him and even asked him to sit down, Liao Qian decided to tell the truth, since telling the truth would definitely be the right thing to do.

Liao Qian: "Then I'll tell you the truth. A few days ago, this kid just arrived and called me. I beat him up, and he said he'd beat me to death if he wanted to come and atone for his sins. I tried my best to stop him, but I couldn't. He's definitely sincere, but as for how much, I can't say."

Han Yi: "Our stance is that we do not approve of Thunder getting close to Anning. I don't know what your stance is."

Liao Qian: "I'm an outsider, I can't make any decisions... I'm just worried that An Ning might get hurt again, or that the kid might be having financial difficulties and coming to ask for money."

Han Yi: "We've investigated and found that the Lei family's business is thriving and they don't have any financial crisis. It's not about money."

Liao Qian: "That means he has repented and wants to get back together and forgiveness."

An Yiyang: "You know how to wear armor, how does it show up on your armor?"

Liao Qian: "This... the post says there were some twists and turns, but true love prevails in the end, I..."

An Yiyang: "Liao Qian! You are their matchmaker, but Lei Ting made a mistake. It's not your fault. You don't need to blame yourself or worry too much. Some things are beyond our control. Since Lei Ting is here, let the two children's relationship take its natural course. We will take some measures, but don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you."

Liao Qian: "Oh, Uncle, it's so good that you think that way. You don't know, I told Lei Ting the other day that I was going to get a sex change. I went back with Lei Ting, and I haven't been able to sleep well these past few days because I was so worried about him! Lei Ting is a stubborn guy, and I can't do anything about him. Fortunately, you adults are magnanimous and don't hold it against us."

Han Yi: "You're just being cheeky again. Lei Ting is staying at your house, so you need to keep an eye on him. He can't say or do anything he shouldn't. You know what hurt An Ning, so you can't upset her any further, understand?"

Liao Qian: "I know, I know. I only let him stay at my house because I was afraid he would cause trouble outside. Otherwise, I wouldn't have paid any attention to him. Don't worry, Uncle and Aunt, I will definitely keep an eye on him."

An Yiyang: "Jasmine, do you have any news?"

Liao Qian: "This kid said that Jasmine took nude photos with him, took a hundred thousand or so from Lei Zhenyu, and ran away to the land of lust. He won't be here again..."

An Yiyang: "That's good. You're about the same age, so you'll definitely have more to talk about. Go and chat with An Ning!"

Liao Qian: "Okay, hehe, hehe..."

Liao Qian was overjoyed to learn that An Ning's parents didn't blame him. When he came downstairs, Lei Ting was still trying to find topics to chat with An Ning, but An Ning felt a little annoyed and was too embarrassed to show it. Liao Qian came downstairs just in time to help her out.

Liao Qian: "Anning, have you tried that cake? Oh dear, I burned down my kitchen while making this cake."

Anning: "Try it... there's more!"

Liao Qian: "I'd rather die! I won't try it..."

An Ning: "Hahahaha..."

Thunder: "Hehe, if you're going to laugh, then you're going to laugh."

Liao Qian: "Are you still hungry? We haven't eaten yet. How about we let this kid treat us and An Yang to something to eat?"

Anyang: "No, I'm not hungry..."

Anning: "I'm actually a little hungry. I'll go with you."

An Yang: "Ah! Then I'll go too... Sister, how can you just go out with strangers like that!"

An Ning: "What stranger? Don't you know Liao Qian? She's my classmate!"

Anyang: "Okay then, Mom and Dad, let's go out for a meal and we'll be right back!"

Han Yi: "An Yang, keep an eye on your sister and come back soon."

Han Yi and An Yiyang watched the group of children from the second floor and sighed deeply. An Yiyang and Han Yi discussed whether they could give Lei Ting a chance.

An Yiyang: "An Ning is older now, so there are some things she can try to process on her own."

Han Yi: "I'm still worried about Lei Ting. Although he seems quite concerned about our Anning now, who knows what will happen in the future..."

An Yiyang: "If An Ning is truly willing, I don't think we can stop her..."

Anning: "I'm going to change my clothes..."

Han Yi: "Sigh... It's all fate... If I had known it would turn out like this, I should have locked An Ning in the house and told her not to go."

An Yiyang: "I think that although my daughter has suffered a bit in the past two years, she has become much more resilient. Look at the bakery, she runs it very well!"

Han Yi: "Such resilience comes at a great cost. I pray that my daughter will not be hurt again... God bless."

Thunder's offensive threw Han Yi and An Yiyang off balance. Blindly trying to stop them would only backfire, so it was better to leave it at that and observe how things unfolded.
