Lei Ting wanted to light some aromatherapy to create a romantic atmosphere, but An Ning, remembering how aromatherapy had almost made her lose her mind, decided against it. Lei Ting blew on the aromatherapy instead. Subconsciously, Lei Ting was very obedient to An Ning. The room was brightly lit, and the two of them snuggled on the sofa, munching on hamburgers. With An Ning beside him, Lei Ting ate with a blissful expression, his lips smeared with cream. So many roses were in sight; even the hamburger An Ning was eating smelled of roses, and Lei Ting beside her smelled of roses too. She was so happy. Being in this room made her so happy—no, having Lei Ting beside her made her so happy.
Anning: "Look at you, your mouth is covered in cream. Let me find a wet wipe to clean it for you."
Thunder: "Okay..."
Anning wiped Leiting's mouth, and with a little more physical contact, Leiting gazed at her affectionately. Anning met his gaze and shyly lowered her head. Leiting lifted her head and tried to press himself against her again. Suddenly, Anning's strength increased dramatically. She pushed Leiting away, shoving him off the sofa and onto the floor. Leiting lay sprawled on the floor, and Anning stood up, bewildered.
Anning: "No, um, I'm going to take a shower."
Anning quickly ran to the bathroom, took off her clothes, and turned on the tap. Warm water flowed down from above. Anning imagined herself meditating under a waterfall, with the water rushing over her, trying to calm herself down. Driven by a woman's instinct, Anning wanted to explore with Leiting while desperately suppressing her impending emotions with reason. She touched herself and found there was still a lot of sticky stuff. It was so uncomfortable. Anning washed desperately, but it had no effect.
After rinsing for a long time without any effect, Anning realized this wouldn't do. Lei Ting would look down on her; he might be waiting outside for her to run out naked. No, no, she had to play hard to get. At this thought, Anning's magnanimity exploded, and a strange indifference surged into her heart. Even if the man outside was her husband of two years, Lei Ting, handsome in every way, Anning couldn't be moved. She couldn't be moved. Looking in the mirror, she forced herself to have a series of mental suggestions before her body finally calmed down completely. Anning turned off the water and examined herself in the mirror. The water vapor on the mirror formed a hazy mist, which draped over Anning's body as if setting up a defense line, a defense line specifically against Lei Ting.
It wasn't until Anning finished drying herself with a bath towel that she realized she hadn't brought her pajamas. The pajamas Lei Ting had prepared weren't in the bathroom either. Was she supposed to go out wrapped in a bath towel? Was Lei Ting outside? Anning hesitated, her mind racing. She wanted to ask Lei Ting to bring them to her, but she was afraid he'd think she was doing it on purpose. Just as Anning was agonizing over what to do, Lei Ting spoke to her from outside the bathroom door.
Lei Ting: "An Ning, are you done showering? I've left your pajamas here; wear whichever one you like. I'm going upstairs to get the wine. Don't worry, I won't look..."
An Ning looked up, relieved to see the doorway. Thankfully, Lei Ting had left like a gentleman. The heavy footsteps made An Ning blush all over. She cautiously peeked out and opened the bathroom door. Lei Ting wasn't there. Three nightgowns were in a bamboo basket on the floor. An Ning quickly took them into the bathroom and carefully selected them. A shy, loving smile played on her lips in front of the large mirror. An Ning chose a milky-white nightgown and put it on her smooth, freshly showered body. The sexy yet not overly alluring spaghetti strap nightgown, with its delicate lace trim, accentuated An Ning's most sensual features. Looking in the mirror, An Ning was still a little shy.
An Ning: "Isn't this too revealing? But it makes my collarbone look really elegant. Oh well, whatever, if he dares to touch me, I'll just run away."
An Ning took a deep breath, bidding farewell to her mocking reflection in the mirror. Stepping out of the bathroom, as the steam subsided, An Ning slowly appeared in Lei Ting's eyes. Like a lotus emerging from clear water, naturally beautiful without artifice, that was the epitome of An Ning now! Lei Ting had just pulled the cork from a bottle of red wine when, with a pop, the cork rolled right to An Ning's feet, who was now standing before him. Following his gaze, he saw An Ning, without any adornment, standing in a white dress amidst a romantic field of red roses, like a light-footed fairy fluttering her wings, playfully dancing among the flowers. The last flutter of her wings landed right in Lei Ting's heart.
An Ning: "Are you dumbfounded? You still don't recognize me. You're just staring blankly at me."
Lei Ting: "The Anning I remember was gentle and generous, and the Anning I know now is passionate and intellectual. I love both of them so much."
Anning: "The red wine needs to breathe a bit before it's properly poured! Whew, let's watch the movie first! Where's the screen? Where's the screen?"
Thunder: "I'll find out, baby. What kind of movies do you like to watch?"
An Ning: "Hehe, I'm usually scared to watch horror movies by myself, but I actually like them. I really like them."
Thunder: "Wow, I also like watching horror movies. When I was a kid, I would be so scared after watching zombie movies that I couldn't sleep. I would often run to my mom's bed in the middle of the night, and my dad would scold me."
An Ning: "Haha, then you're not allowed to sneak into my bed in the middle of the night."
Thunder: "I won't... Ah, you're taking advantage of me..."
An Ning: "Hahahaha..."
An Ning covered her mouth and laughed. Lei Ting then realized that when An Ning said she wouldn't let him into her bed, it wasn't because she was afraid he would act like a hooligan, but because she was comparing herself to his mother. This was the first time Lei Ting had ever bantered and joked with An Ning. An Ning's playfulness stirred up Lei Ting's long-dormant worldly desires. An Ning would often make a joke that made herself laugh out loud. In Lei Ting's eyes, An Ning's slender, long fingers brushed past a strand of hair and glided across her bright eyes. Her slightly shrugged shoulders and the way she rested her chin on her hand made her look poised and confident in front of him. Lei Ting had never seen her so relaxed and languid before. Every movement and every look in An Ning's eyes now gave him a lot of surprises.
Shh, the movie has started. Lei Ting turned off the lights, and only the projection screen lit up the whole room. An Ning hugged a pillow, about a meter away from Lei Ting, held her breath, and focused all her attention on watching the movie. Suddenly, the first scene was a scene of blood flowing all over the ground, which shocked the two of them.
